QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) I haven't paid as close of attention as usual this year. What's up with SIU this year? What seems to be the problem? What is their record right now? I'll save you a whole lot of reading and just say that literally everything is going wrong. We're 5-8 with no signs of improving at this point. I think everyone expected some growing pains with such a young group but we also expected for things to improve as the season went on, and so far we're just getting worse. There is some talented guys on this team but we just can't put everything together. If a team goes on a little bit of a run, everything just seems to collapse all at once and that's pretty much happened every game this season. It's just a bad basketball team at this point. EDIT: On a side note, your Aces are much, much improved this season.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) Hopefully will be on espn360 since I don't have ESPNU. This season will be easier to take if you just resign yourself to the fact we will take our lumps. Let the frosh and sophs play. Ya. As lost as he is right now, Booker needs to start playing more. He's a talented dude, he's just completely lost on the court at this point. I'd like to see his and Bocot's minutes go up a bit. We'll see though, Lowery isn't the type of coach that just lets the young guys play most of the time.

Gavin Floyd for Brian Roberts discussed
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) If Gonzales knows anything (I don't know if he has good connections or not), it seems that this type of deal would be predicated by the Sox dealing Dye, trading Floyd, and then resigning Roberts to an extension. One would then assume the Sox go out and sign Abreu, have Alexei start off at SS with the intention of moving him any given place where the team may need him in the future (I'd say either keeping him at SS with Beckham moving to 3B or Alexei to CF with Beckham staying at SS...it also doesn't rule out a potential dealing of Beckham and/or any of the other infielders the Sox have in the system). The lineup might very well be the best in the AL Central, but the pitching staff would struggle big time. Roberts - 2B Abreu - RF Quentin - LF Thome - DH Konerko - 1B Pierzynski - C Ramirez - SS Fields - 3B Anderson - CF Buehrle Danks pitcher acquired for Dye veteran retread/young pitcher young pitcher it all seems like a huge long shot to me in the long run, but mainly just trading for Roberts. Dye may or may not be traded either way and I'd put it at about 50/50. It'd be beyond weird to have a semi athletic lineup. Definitely love the looks of that lineup, you just can't win with that pitching staff though.

Pennington was just f***in brutal. Baltimore is really, really dangerous though, I think they'll beat Tenn next week. BTW, a completely random point but how good have the punters been so far in these games? Ridiculous.

[SCRUBS] Not the Final Season Thread
QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 04:36 AM) Now that Scrubs is coming to an end....i was thinking about which secondary (or third-ary) characters I'd like to see show up. My top three would be..... 1. Hooch (Hooch is crazy) 2. Gift Shop Girl (I know she's busy on Chuck) 3. Franklin (Maybe they can work in a Heroes reference for him..a line like "What do you want me to do??? I can't go back in time you know!) **TCW would be nice to see too Hooch for sure.

I'm going to jump in here and just say: ISU has played absolutely NOBODY and that can't be argued. But it also can't be argued that they have one of the best back courts in the nation. I honestly don't know how good they are yet but Champ and Osiris are that good. They'd be able to play with a lot of teams.
