  1. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) it's finally over. this team gave up after the all star break. i'm glad the final mathematical bulls*** is done. f*** THE SOX. they're gonna have to prove something to me next year as i have to predict them to finish 4th behind the indians... Soxtalk needs to get over their Indians obsession.
  2. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) some guys have incentive clauses if they get to various milestones More reason to bench them.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Anything but another "We can buy the world series, nyah nyah" Subway series. A subway series won't happen. You guys let me know who makes the world series though as the playoffs won't exist to me.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) Well, Vick just cost me a head to head week in fantasy. Thanks for nothing. Ditto with Reggie for me in a different league. My team put up fantastic numbers for the 2nd week in a row though in our league.
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) Sorry, but the Twins should be embarrassed they couldnt get more than 18K for the clinching game of the division. AT LEAST WE OUTDREW THE TWINS THIS YEAR.
  6. QUOTE(skysox @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) to be honest with you, I have seen almost enough of Anderson. And Mackowaik would play 3B or something. lol
  7. Can I please get a Reggie Bush touchdown. Please? QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Can I please get a Reggie Bush touchdown. Please? This world hates me.
  8. Looks like Leinart might get the start for AZ next week. Good Stuff.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) Oh come on now. These lineups include a guy with a hyphenated first name, a guy who can't spell Johnny, a guy who never goes by his actual name (initials only), a guy referred to once as "three gorilla strong", and players from at least 6 different countries (including 2 different Asian nations). I think that's pretty interesting. Crap. You're right. They need to sweep and have MIN lose 3 of 4, don't they? Yessir.
  10. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) So, if my math is right, if we win 2 of 3 in CLE, then MIN needs to lose 3 of 4 to KC for us to be alive going into MIN. Alternately, if we sweep CLE, and MIN goes 2 of 4 or worse, then we go to MIN mathematically in it. I know, its basically over. But that won't stop me from rooting for my team. Let's sweep 'em!!! GO YOU WHITE SOX!!! Your math is incorrect
  11. I got a feeling Detroit is going to surprise a lot of people in the playoffs.
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) McD's may offer breakfast all day long soon. That'd be pimp, as that's the only thing I like there. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,214758,00.html That'd be so awesome.
  13. So as a lot of you guys know I'm very anti facebook. Anyways, I spent the weekend at U of I and all the sudden there are pictures of me all over that stupid website. My goal was to never, ever be involved with that thing in anyway and now I feel violated. Boo.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) Time to dust off the golf clubs Tex>Tiger. True Story.
  15. If Bonds can't find a legit team, a team like the drays would definitely take him as he'd bring them in way too much money to pass up.
  16. So I went to Champaign this weekend to watch Illinois-Iowa and ya that was some bad football. I'm convinced that SIU would beat Illinois and Iowa has been so unimpressive every game I've seen them play(all except the Montana game).
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) Because the 3rd team may have to give up less for Garland than they would for Willis. And because they know if they can't trade for Willis, well Garland is a pretty good backup scenario. I'd imagine we'd have to give up a prospect along with Garland to get Willis. Which wouldn't be smart considering Jon is better than Dontrelle. Willis is going to need to stay in the NL to be effective for his career. After his first or second time around in the al he'd start to get hammered.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 03:05 AM) So why honestly are Hot Dogs so popular up there in America? Because they're delicious.
  19. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 02:50 AM) ^^^ You love cotton candy.
  20. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) You know what, I trust the Trib's Gonzalez more than Orel f***ing Hershiser. Give me a break on Orel Hershiser. Stupid f***. Gonzalez said in a Q and A the Sox didn't quit. I mean believe they quit if you want but I wouldn't trust some hoser like Orel Hershiser. I'm sure he got the scoop about all the Sox talking about offseason plans, etc. He's a dumbass. So Orel Hershiser who has absolutely nothing to gain from saying something like that just decided to make that up? Ok, whatever. How about the fact your manager even said tonight that he was disgusted at the effort the players gave? Whatever though, it's a matter of opinion and I'll leave it at that.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) What the hell does this mean? Please be specific. Who quit? Did Pods quit or does he simply suck right now. Did Uribe quit or did he overachieve much of last year. Did Dye and Thome quit? Did Paulie quit? Did AJ? DId the bullpen quit? No the bullpen sucked. Did the starters quit? No the starters during a long stretch sucked. Did Iguchi quit or just fall in love with the long ball? Did Anderson quit or can he not hit anything but little league pitching? Who the f*** quit? Cora was braindead, but who quit???? When you read stuff like the players are packing up there things and are making offseason plans what does that tell you? When pods doesn't run hard down the first base line, when Uribe drops one handed catches, when aj wont get down in the dirt to block a ball, all that stuff is lack of hustle and lack of caring. Think what you want but there is no doubt in my mind that the majority of the team just mailed it in a few weeks back.
  22. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) I saw this on the SOX message board and it really pissed me off. Wjat the heack happened to the heart of this team, and what happened to Ozzie, i never thought he would let this happen Orel Hershiser was on Baseball Tonight talking about the Sox (He did the Tigers game last night on ESPN). He mentioned that it disturbed him to see the clubhouse atmosphere and it wasn't what he'd expected out of the defending world champs....he said he noticed players making offseason plans, signs up about cleaning out lockers, etc. This was very disturbing to me considering they are not yet mathmatically eliminated Once again, this team just quit.
