QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Do you still eat Macaroni and Cheese all the time too? What's wrong with Mac and Cheese? So now adults can't have ketchup, can't have mac and cheese..what else aren't we allowed to eat?

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) If my math is right, 14 games over by the time they played the cubs, their first nl series. Not too shabby. Well ya. But what I'm saying is, you look at their overall record and they went 10 over agains the NL and only 8 over against the AL, not too impressive.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) It does, but we didn't magically get to 20 over .500. Most everyone seems to forget that were were looking pretty good the first half... National League.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) It doesn't matter. They are highly paid athletes who are supposed to be above ALL of this. They aren't HUMAN, they are MACHINES! Get it right, Rock. Besides, every other team overcomes it, obviously (Sometimes, green isn't needed). Isn't Ozzie's constant playing of backups supposed to be so our team is the most fresh down the stretch? If that's not happening then why are our bench players playing so darn much? It's an 162 game season, everyone is going to be tired and banged up by the end of it. All the teams in the al that are going to make the playoffs had at least one big time injury this season, we did not, but our excuse is that we're banged up? Cmon now.

Konerko's quote after the game yesterday

So being banged up is the new excuse, eh? Sorry, I'm not buying. The Twins, Yankees, Tigers and A's have all lost key players for the majority of the season due to injury and we're banged up so that's the reason for this team struggling? Nope, I don't buy it. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 06:29 AM) uh oh, the offense didn't show up for his last 3 of his last 4 starts. He should have won the Boston game, the Oakland game, and even though he gave up 5 runs last night, he still should have won. This offense has just been disgusting to watch the past month or so. So, lets all congratulate Jon Garland on what should be his 20th win! Good job! Does a 4.4 era pitcher deserve 20 wins? If not then you should be thanking the offense for all the wins they got him early on.

QUOTE(mreye @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) This is my whole point. Why is it for the 5-10 age group? Why am I not allowed to enjoy ketchup because I'm over 30? Why can't the hot dog nazis let us ketchup lovers be? I've always wondered this as well. What did ketchup do to deserve all this hate?

QUOTE(pcullotta @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) It is true that BA's average climbed extremely well in the second half but it is also true that Ozzie did not play BA against a lot of tough pitchers (especially tough right handers). I wonder if his average would have continued climbing at that pace if he had to face all of the pitchers Ozzie protected him from. This is also why we had to put up with Mack in CF for all those games. Everyone yelled "why is Mack out there when BA is hitting .300 this month" but no one wanted to mention that BA was doing it against pitchers Ozzie thought would be easier for him. Of course no one will ever know what BA could have done against those tough pitchers but I just wanted to throw that out there. Instead BA gets to play against all the tough left handers when he hits righties much better. That is not protecting him.

Wow. Steff, I think you've went too far this time.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) Players have bad years. We have had some real ups and downs with our pitching, but thinking that we have to trade away any one of our five starters may be a knee jerk. It's not knee jerk at all, Kenny has been saying all year that we need a spot next year in the rotation for Brandon.

Prime reasons why the 2006 White Sox failed to repeat

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) The Sox are a pretty damn good team. Will probably win over 90 games. Thanks to the national league. -
Internet and tv for me.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) You seriously need a swift kick in the ass. Maybe, but so does this team.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) I also think booing would be a pathetic thing to do. As far as the guys trying their hardest, I certainly hope so but at times it hasn't looked like it. Why is it a pathetic thing to boo if our players havent been trying their hardest?

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) You've been called worse, I'm sure of it. I said I liked it. Those kind of posts make me feel like I'm doing something right. -
QUOTE(BainesHOF @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Giving big bucks to Buehrle after the season he had and all the innings he's pitched in his career makes no sense whatsoever. You sign a guy for what he's going to do not what he did. At this point I have serious reservations whether he can return to all-star form. His arm may be shot. So do we keep Freddy then? If not, who is taking Mark's place in the rotation?

QUOTE(Drew @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Zito isn't coming to the South Side for more than a series. Boras. End of story. The Yankees come to the Cell twice next season.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) No, it's because the fall was going to come even without the injury. His last year in Oakland, he gave up a career high in homers, a career high in walks, and a K/BB ratio that was under two, not to mention the fact that he finished with a 4.43 ERA, which is only slightly above league average. He was good last year in St Louis, but I'm questioning whether or not that would hold up in the AL. Oh, and there's the fact that I think the Sox should aim higher than relying on a hope and a prayer that Mulder heals fully from his injury. And then there's the fact that Mulder, according to some St Louis and Oakland fans that I've read over at BTF, is apparently a pretty stubborn pitcher who didn't change his mechanics despite pleading from his pitching coaches. Ever since that hip injury a few years back he hasn't been the same. I don't want Mulder near this team. Anyways, picking up Mark's option is a no brainer imo.

QUOTE(Nokona @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) You're an idiot. It's tradition to rush the field after a Hawkeye victory. Mainly due to the fact when we lost something like 10 games pre-Hayden Fry. But nice try. Oh and Heads. HAWKEYE STATE. HAWKEYE STATE. HAWKEYE STATE. Well then it's a stupid tradition. And I appreciate being called an idiot as well. -
I hope they just decide to not play the playoffs this year.
