  1. Rays v Dodgers in the World series. Lowest rated World Series in years.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Nice. Manaray pool at the hotel at mandaly is a must. Topless pool, and its really fun.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) I don't know that much about the minor leagues, except the most talked-about prospects. I don't think that makes me less of a fan of the Sox. I also dont see you making comments at the game like described above.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 10:00 AM) i would have to imagine the cubs significantly decreased their chances of getting roberts when they dealt gallagher away...their farm system isnt as bad as ours, but its pretty bad Many of their top spects had down years as well.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) I bet he goes with Marshall and Hoffpauir for Brian Roberts Not a great deal for the O's there.
  6. I dont stand up an cheer at every fly ball. I sit and laugh at those people. If someone questions my fandom I just hit them with a question that they cant answer to sit them down. Ask them about what they think of the Kanny team this season and see what they think.
  7. If you like clubs, Tao is pretty good. Pure is also real good. I went to one at the Wynn, I cant remember what it was, bottle service was good and it was full of chicks (just tell your wife to go home early)

    What do i do?

Honestly, be friendly, but dont be an emotional crutch for a girl like that, they will eat you alive. And wear a condom
  9. Where's Benchwarmerjim when you need him? Twins fans LOVED AJ up there. They boo him for no reason other than many of them do not know wht the hell is going on. Im sure when Mauer or Morneau leaves they will boo them too. Im pretty sure they booed Mincaskjaskvich as well.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 07:21 AM) Joe Cowley was just on the radio, and said that after some members of the Sox organization heard the OC to Twins rumors last week, they told Cowley they'll be happy to drive him to Minnesota. Cowley and OC didnt get along personally, and Cowley is someone who both holds a grudge and lets his personal feelings infiltrate his reporting. Check out his history, alot of his collegues felt the same way about him. I would take his opinion with a grain of salt here.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) Not really. I hated him because he seems like a jackass. Name one "white" guy on the team with that same attitude and I'll hate him too. The only exception given to guy like that is if he is an amazing player, which OC showed he is not. AJ Pierzynski
  12. I just read in the trib and on the Cubs board than Cedeno is on his way out because of a confrontation with the Cubs trainers. I bet we could get our hands on him for somewhat cheap. I've always thought he would be a good player if given regular playing time. He would be both a good option for SS and also for super sub.
  13. Nice to see cars finally catching up to Sea-Doos in terms of technology. I have had a velocity limiting key for my GTX for many years now.
  14. QUOTE (heirdog @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) You may be down on them but konerko and vasquez have value. Fields and Broadway have some value too even though they didn't on the south side. I agree that halladay and rios was a reach but we can get some real good players for that package and KW just might surprise. Yes they have value, just not much of it. Anf Fields value is at its all time low, and Broadway doesnt have any.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) The year the Cubs win it all, will be a year, like you say, when they are not expected to...like us. Well to be honest, only before the season were we not expected to, once we went wire to wire, we should have been expected to. As soon as a Cubs team is in first place in this city at any point of the season they will be saying that this is the year. There will never be no expectations.
  16. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 07:11 AM) That definitely makes our starting rotation worse. Pedro and Contreras are garbage. Trust me, I'd love to have Wright but who are we kidding lets keep this in the realm of realism, Floyd and Fields is just not enough for David. And Konerko and Javy are not nearly enough for that package with the Angels
  17. Suggestions are fun and all, but prefer to be realistic. KW isnt going to tear apart a team that almost won 90 games and has good chemistry. He also isnt going to rape other GM's on these ridiculous trades. He sees a few holes and will fill them without paying top dollar. We all know he has his eye on Hudson so that may happen. I think he signs a fringe starter for a lower price like Freddy to fill the 5th starter spot. If he trade Javy to the Brewers for JJ Hardy to play SS then obviously he will either have an internal audition for the role or he will probably trade someone for another reclamation or fringe starter. He'll prob sign a project pen guy, possibly a utility guy and will give Fields his chance at 3B. I dont see any huge name stars or big trades coming back to the Sox, so I wouldnt get your hopes up of a ridiculously revamped lineup.
  18. Yes, all the Blue jays want next season is to unload one of the best pitchers in baseball for our junk and no name prospects.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 01:43 AM) No way he is 100 times the player Joe is. We could use a Joe Crede clutch hit the past few games/weeks. I do take back calling Uribe a dog. I am sick of him swinging so hard and not producing though. Yet Uribe has been producing at 3rd base better than Crede was. Oh and he had a clutch hit last night. Crede has had a procedure done on his back, came back, got worse, and now cant play. Explain to me how thats anything like the Maggs situation? 2008 100% Uribe: .285 .333 .442 70-100% Crede: .248 .314 .460
  20. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Incredibly weaksauce. Yet another 90's alternative music icon has been sucked into the "mystique" of the Cubs franchise. Eddie Vedder is terrible. The End. First of all, he grew up a cub fan on the north shore, secondly, he isnt a 90's icon, Pearl Jam is still awesome.
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) That Illini offense is so much fun to watch,I dont know what defense in the Big Ten that is going to be able to stop it this year. What team is considered to have the best D in the Big Ten right now?Ohio State? Probably the Buckeyes. Our biggest weakness is in the interior of the D-line which Juice exploited the s*** out of last season. We will most likely lock Jenkins on Benn and take our chances stopping the running game. Of course our offense is a bit better than Michigans though.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) You don't think Joe Crede will be a clutch hitter again if healthy? I'd rather have Joe Crede at 70 percent than Juan Uribe at 110 percent. THe only good thing of him going to the Twins is he won't be able to increase his speed. He'll still be slow on the basepaths. Actually Juan just proved that he is better than Crede at 70 percent. Crede is done. Keep waiting for him to "be healthy."
  23. Some seriously retarded posts in this game thread. Dont let your frustration get in the way of your judgement. The Rays are great at home in the dome, we would have been lucky to get one of these games then take on the road where they are bad and we are good.
  24. I hate socks. I wear sandals everywhere until my toes freeze.
