  1. thought that got his jersey
  2. those relievers are awesome, but awful approach from our guys
  3. haven't seen most of the series until the last 2 innings, but in those 2 innings plesac has basically done nothing but slob betances since I've tuned in. Guy has been nasty but jeez
  4. why is plesac announcing these games. He sounds like he's rooting for the yankees
  5. nobody can look at Ivan Rodriguez and honestly think he didn't she steroids. His head is massive
  6. Jackson is best fielding CF sox have had since who? I think he's better than Rowand. Obviously Griffey and Andruw were way past prime when with the sox
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 09:58 PM) Ha. I love the random games sox fans remember. What was that? 02? Can't remember. That seems about right. I was thinkin 03
  8. Anyone remember Miguel ascencion?
  9. First pitch swinging at a curve ball in the dirt... Come on melky
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) Keeps throwing 92 right down the plate Slider is flat too. Where is the 96 he was throwing out of college?
  11. chris bassitt probably needs tommy John
  12. amazing how much the bears defense has changed in just over 12 months. only guy they really have left from the tucker regime is fuller. They have a really nice blend of veterans and young guys at most positions. Not a comprehensive list, but core guys/rotation players listed below. Biggest upgrade has been LB where last years starters may not even really be rotation guys Defensively, still a need at CB and depth on DE Offensively, still could use a TE and another tackle, though whitehair and Long could play there in a pinch. If someone goes down on the OL, you at least have a guy at each position who can fill in that has played there before DE: Bullard, Sutton, NT: Goldman, hicks? DE: Hicks, ferguson, unrein OLB: McPhee, Houston ILB: Trevathan, Kwiatkowski, Acho, Anderson ILB: Freeman, Christan Jones, Timu OLB: Floyd, Young CB: Fuller, Callahan, SS: Rolle, Bush, prosinski FS: Amos, Houston-Carson, Jones-quartey CB: Porter, Hall, McManis LT: Leno, Long? LG: Slauson/Ramirez, Whitehair C: Ramirez/Slauson, Grassu LG: Long LT: Massie QB: Cutler, Hoyer, Fales RB: Howard (2 down), Langford (3rd down), Carey, Rodgers (not sure Rodgers has much of a role anymore) TE: Miller, ?Lee? WR: Jeffery, White, Wilson, Royal, Braverman, Mariani, Bellamy/Meredith That team can compete for the playoffs, especially with their easy schedule
  13. wow I can't believe that call. Just awful inconsistency on how that has been called this year. Nfl style bad
  14. Bears fairly clearly building long term (rightfully so) and not just for next year like Emery did
  15. gave up #206, which I think is a 6th. I'm fine with that
  16. Jason and hawk are play by play men. Not color men. I love me some Hawk and have missed him when he hasn't been there. Benneti has been really solid. I haven't found him quite as good as most have said, but very solid. I will say this though, it normally takes guys quite a while, months to years IMO, to even become solid. Not many guys walk into the booth day 1 and are already good. Benneti is already that. I think he will be outstanding by seasons end
  17. Great game. Worst part about hawk only doing road games is he won't call any more walkoffs for us
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) I think the Cubs just need to be careful with Arrieta's workload. He got overworked last year and was less effective in the playoffs. If they're going to cruise to a division title, there's no reason for him to throw 250 innings again. especially because they are going to make the playoffs by like 15 games. If im the cubs I would strongly consider limiting him to about 25-26 starts
  19. no idea how he went from bum to best pitcher alive but he did. At age 29 and 30 too. Only even somewhat comparable thing I've seen is halladay
  20. our system is hot garbage
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) They are going to just destroy the Reds and Brewers this year. If they play them 38 times or so, I expect something like 30-8 Don't forget about the Padres Phillies and braves
  22. so does Navarro start getting the bulk of the starts
