  1. time to see what Call can do at kanny
  2. I'm way higher on fisher and call than most. Both are top 10 IMO
  3. one thing I truly believe is immensely different in baseball broadcasting than in other sports is that it takes a really long time to be good at it. Difficult to be on the air for that long of a time, with all that downtime, for that many games, and be really good at it right away. I personally way prefer road games right now because I love Hawk. Benetti is better than I expected, but still has work to do. And that's ok. It takes a long time. He has shown promise and will get better, i think (and hope)
  4. so with Anderson now in the bigs, and fulmers struggles this year, is Collins our number 1 prospect right now? Also I know it's only 10 games but Call and Fisher both have obps around .490. i think they are both top 10 guys in our (depleted and bad) system. I'd like to certainly see fisher (who was a college senior) at least at low A before too long
  5. Collins 3 run HR off first rounder Justin dunn
  6. I hope the news on Webb and petricka didn't sway the org into drafting burdi instead of others
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:44 PM) Which was 180 degrees from the drafting approach he had before that one. They have never, ever had this approach in drafting position players. Yes, with pitching I'll grant you that they had a philosophy change about 5 years ago. But they hadn't offensively.
  8. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) Sorry, it's just me. I'm tired of every time something happens that people like it's Hahn doing it and KW not having any input. Conversely, everytiime something happens they don't like it's KW doing it and Hahn is just a guy siting in a corner playing solitaire collecting a check. People just don't think that they can work together and make decisions together. It HAS to be only ONE of them making the decision at separate times. Well this approach has been a complete 180 degree turn around from the way KW used to operate. So I guess i should have said that either KW has completely changed his approach, or he has much less of a say. Sorry won't make the mistake again
  9. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Wow this seems like such a change. TWO advanced college hitters drafted in the first 4 rounds? I LIKE 3
  10. been a very clear shift in philosophy in drafting position players this year
  11. there has been a clear change in direction in the approach drafting position players. I think KW has much less of a say. And that's a good thing
  12. really sad. He was the top prep prospect to not enter the draft and go to college. Was banged up the first part of the year but pitched well in the second half and was throwing high 90s even hitting 100. Was probably going to be the next great vandy pitcher.
  13. That team has really thrived off their free agent signings. Everyone talked about their internal young guys, but outside of Bryant that team has thrived off of FA signees. On top of that many of those signees are well over performing their career norms - including the entire starting rotation, zobrist, fowler, Ross. How hammel and Hendricks are doing what they are is beyond me. Even Lester has been way better than career norms
  14. sale really had a hard time putting guys away tonight. Lots of contact, even if it was foul. Not a ton of swings and misses

    Honeymoon advice

Went to Maui for 5 days Kauai for 5. Stayed at the 4 seasons in wailea. Expensive but worth every penny. Don't hesitate to do anything you might want to do. Before long you might have kids and vacations look very, very different
  16. Giles has filthy stuff. How is his era over 7
  17. really dumb. Kuechel still hasn't thrown a strike this innjng
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 17, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) looked safe Nope. Phew. Thought for sure when that was hit it was a hit
  19. Rasmus scares me. Seems like he kills the sox tho that is entirely anecdotal. I really hope my guy tony kemp doesn't come into this and somehow win it for the astors
  20. even the bad AL teams are good... Besides the twins of course
