  1. Part of the equation that is missing is the minor leagues and development costs. Teams you mentioned like the Brewers and Guardians history develop great toung talent. The cost of this will not be considered in this equation. They've learned that if you cant spend with the big dogs you need to develop your own at a better rate.
  2. Evil billionaires complaining about other billionaires. Pritzker is probably worj more than the MvCaskey family.
  3. Agreed. Thats one that can and probably should happen.
  4. With most athletes, its not about the amount of money. Its about having a better contract than the competition. Its the competition. In the locker room the discussion isnt amount of the contract. Its he made more than him.
  5. Boers was good. Really enjoyed his writing and then the radio gig. RIP
  6. Oo. Nice attack. Get cornered and go for the person. What dies any of that have to do with many fans hating their owners I didn't stick with Hahn to the end. I believe I said multiple times that he deserved to be fire because his plan didn't work. I said at the beginning he gets about 4-5 years and if it doesn't work he should be gone. But enjoy the vengeful research.
  7. Im shocked that this is your opinion. Go to Pittsburgh and Colorado and others they'll say the same thing about their owners. How about Oakland where the owner moved the team without having another home. You dont have the exclusive hate for the owner of your team.
  8. He fired Hahn when his rebuild didn't work. He didn't fire him when he kept trying to just run mediocre teams out there, signing middle of the road free agents.
  9. This is true. We dont know if they are changes that will work. Bit they jave made significant changes. If they dont work, he gets fired.
  10. They have made sweeping changes in player development. You can hate Getz because he was hired but you cant honestly say he hasn't made changes and poured resources into player development.
  11. Its almost like they are objective and looking at the quality of the talent and assessing the players and team.
  12. This is the part I question. I know everyone has to look forward to something. But im skeptical that an owner is going to spend a team into the red for an extended period of time. The first 5 years with all of the tax breaks is a given. But after rhat... .
  13. This. All of the moves are to make improvements with placeholders until the prospects are ready. They know they aren't playoff ready and are approaching it that way.
  14. Newcomb will start until some of the UCL group is ready. You also forgot to add berroa will be ready at some point.
  15. Yep, it should be most if not all of theyear i still think he will return though.
  16. That sucks. I remember those travel days and packing and getting to the next city is a nightmare. Those short trips make it too quick.
  17. No kidding. 20 mil is now bench player salary.
  18. Or some just dont understand or purposely ignore the reality of the revenues of the teams.
  19. Not at all costs and going into debt. There is a tipping point where the costs will out weigh it.
  20. The teams have more costs than just salary. I think most agree with the reports that JR brought in Ishbia to pay debts and Ishbia turned down the twins deal due to the debts. However, you are correct that we do not know for sure and never will unless there is a cap and/or floor for salary that requires it.
  21. This is a good fan prospective. The owners view it differently. Sure they want to win but they dont want the team to lose money year after year either. The evil billionaires didn't get to be billionaires by losing money. The value of a franchise significantly decreases if there is significant debt upon the sale.
