Or the price for Cease goes down because the dodgers are no longer in the bidding. Could go either way.
-
Unfortunately, it is what's needed. Just like any job, people get complacent during their employment.
-
At least he is picking up players that are really good at something. Most of the previous players were below average at everything.
-
Or does this mean that Cease is not going there because they could t get a deal where he was included?

The second UCL reconstruction is a big worry. There is a really good chance he won't be the same pitcher.

Yep. The the whole organization is run that way. And everyone of them believe it. -
Anytime you can get 4 quality arms back, it can't be too bad.

David Rubenstein Reportedly In Talks To Acquire Orioles
ptatc replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That would have been fun. Not sure I could handle the criticism though. ? -
What are the Sox trying to do here, really?
ptatc replied to Chick Mercedes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
DeBartolo and Steinbrenner owned the racetracks, except Arlington in the 89s and 90s until Fast Eddie got caught. They were a fun group to work for but to say they had ties is putting it lightly. -
David Rubenstein Reportedly In Talks To Acquire Orioles

Pat Croce started out as the PT and rehab coordinator for the Flyers. Then opened a bunch of PT clinics and mage enough to buy the 76ers. Should have gone in with him early on -
Why would someone do this if they didn't need to? Its smart business if you can get someone else to foot that bill. It's the politicians fault for agreeing to it.

David Rubenstein Reportedly In Talks To Acquire Orioles

Uncertain revenue streams will scare owners. -
How many of the other teams fans do you think believe are putting out a good product? Most cities i travel to believe their owners suck and don't do enough for their fans. I'm not saying JR is doing a good job. I'm just saying that to believe a new owner is just going to magically change everything maybe unrealistic. One of my favorites is not an owner but coach. Mike Tomlin has neve had a losing season and people outside of Pittsburgh love him as a coach. In Pittsburgh the fans can't wait to get rid of him and think he s holding the team back and never has them prepared. Perspective.

I asked this in another thread. Do people really think that some one is going to buy the Sox and spend the team into the red? Owners just don't do that. The teams that spend well over the luxury tax are the highest revenue teams which cover that deficit. Owners spend in the first 5 years due to the tax breaks but then it slows down. Look at Cohen. Last season everyone was going crazy with "look at how he was spending." It's already slowed and the Mets are a much higher revenue team. I just don't see anyone buying the team and the situation being much different. People will hate the next billionaire as well. Until they win.

He never ignores something that happens to the MLB.

Iguichi was good for the 2005 team without seeing him live. So was takatsu for a while.

Isn't this pretty much the opposite of what most teams do? Aren't most teams going to more analytics?

Morosi: Wouldn’t be surprised if Robert is traded
ptatc replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Correct. You always throw out the "nobody is untradeable" to see if anyone bites. However, the trade for Robert would decimate any other team's farm system and probably MLB team. People are just looking for ways to generate clicks. Unfortunately, that is what media has come to today. It's the absolute worst it's ever been for creating controversy just controversy sake. Unfortunately, just as many fans believe it's true journalism and run with it. -
I agree. They seem willing and more aggressive with deals.
-
Players do have a responsility to carry though with programs set for them by the AT for rehab and the strength and conditioning team for off season work.
-
It not true that he didn't get to rehab it properly. Even if it were true, that's not a couple of years worth.
-
All I know is he had 2 really bad years there prior to excelling with the Cubs. Not sure what the arbitration had to do with his performance.
-
Bellinger improved when he left the dodgers for the Cubs. Not sure I trust them.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks thinner but not sickly thin.
