  1. There was intervention by Ozzie, Kenny, JR, and his teammates at Soxfest, clearly, which caused Paulie to have a change of heart. This won't be a distraction at all, but rather a point of showing who the biggest TEAM player is on a roster with 25 of them. Congrats Paulie, you are THE FRANCHISE now.

Come on guys, your just ignorant to what a good "Brazilian Ass Shaker" sounds like. Oh, and for real....if you want good hip hop, listen to Common (especially older stuff), Nas (especially older stuff), and Talib Kweli. That is some good stuff, mixes smooth lyrics and delivery with solid beats.
  3. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Broncos 27, Patriots 13 Their arm strength is very similar, they both make very good decisions as QBs(as opposed to the idea you somehow got that Leinart makes bad decisions based off of 1 f***ing game), they are both very accurate QBs, can both check down and find the open receiver...and on top of that, Leinart has a little more mobility than Brady. Obviously, I'm not suggesting Leinart is the next Tom Brady...but to compare him to Ken Dorsey is a f***ing insult to every scout and draft guru in the world. I guarantee you that Matt Leinart is atleast an average QB in the NFL, something Ken Dorsey will almost never be. But thanks for playing. When Leinart has 3 Super Bowl rings, I'll allow him a bad big game. Also, Leinart currently has a resume very similar to Dorsey's, eerily similar in fact. I may be wrong about Leinart, and if so bring up this thread and i'll eat my crow, but I doubt that will be the case.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) I love watching the Pistons play. Same here. That starting 5 is 5 guys that can all play at an all star calibur level on defense, all pass well, 4 of them shoot well, very long, strong, and athletic. Those guys are pretty much unstoppable, heading for 2 out of 3 NBA titles.
  5. Free info from Rivals. I really hope we get this guy, I'm surprised he eliminated Maryland, as he is related (brother I think, but I know for sure he's related to) Vernon Davis, Maryland TE and soon to be 1st round pick.
  6. = You decide.....*waits for obligatory "whitesoxfan101 is a racist" post from IU fan*
  7. Vontae has cut his list to 2 schools. I'm not sure who they are, but I do know one of them is Illinois, and the other isn't Maryland. Plus, the same people who said Ray Ray was going to Tennessee are saying Illinois has Vontae on lockdown. Hopefully we get Vontae to reach 29, and then we get that "mystery guy" I was asking for to get to 30, which I think is the maximum we can have. EDIT: Vontae is down to Illinois and Michigan State. I guess he wants to play in the Big Ten.
  8. I can't decide if I miss the "down" Big Ten, or love to see the old school "bad ass" Big Ten back. Fun times, no game is automatic.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Duvalt is an Illni Boo yah!! And for once, it's the Illini Board breaking a football recruiting story, not Rivals.
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) Oh...and to whoever it was that called Leinart the lefthanded Ken Dorsey...I like to refer to him as the left handed Tom Brady. Only 3 super bowl rings as starter to go!! And Brady doesn't make the stupid mistakes that Leinart did in the Texas game. But thanks for playing!
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Does any Big Ten team at home lose? (except for the North Dakota stats game? lol) Illinois won at Northwestern Iowa survived at Penn State, as did Ohio State Sparty won at tOSU. Northwestern won at Purdue. Penn State won at Northwestern. That's all I can think of, and I'm not kidding.
  12. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) BS win by Iowa.....if any iowa fan can say that they didnt get the calls its bulls***. I am so sick of Big Ten officiating. OSU got f***ED!!! OSU should only have one loss and that is to MSU. Yeah, that 17 to 16 free throw attempt edge Iowa had was clearly the ONLY reason they won. :rolly Quit your whining. Every team in the league has lost a game because the homer refs suck, and this doesn't look like a screw job to me.
  13. http://home.comcast.net/~wepon1984/ultimateshowdown.swf I have watched it half a dozen times and still can't stop laughing. Not sure if it's old or not, but either way, I'm sure everybody hasn't seen it yet.
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Dunn is playing 1B now. He also draws a ton of walks. And you had better be ready to bash Thome for striking out a ton as well. The fact that Dunn can't hit a sac fly is pretty funny though. Thome will be able to hit sac flies and not ALWAYS strike out at the worst time possible though. I would imagine Thome's average will be significantly better than Dunn's as well.
  15. We should actually watch the players. The reason scouts are so good as they know what to look for, both physically and mentally, but I think actually watching somebody is the best way to scout. Numbers don't really tell the whole story in any sport.
  16. Final score #5 Texas: 72 #22 Oklahoma: 82 I still think OU isn't very good, but a very nice home win for them. Also, I keep hearing how good Texas is.....but I just don't see it (although they are going to win the Big 12, whatever that is worth).
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) Gee I wonder what their army is going to do? Here we go I'm sure they have good, peace keeping intentions.
  18. Interestingly enough, as the Bulls came dangerously close to blowing this game, Chandler was doing NOTHING...according to both the naked eye and stat sheet. Tyson however had a couple of BIG rebounds as the Bulls had a mini run to put it away late. Bulls by 11 with 47 seconds left, on their way to ANOTHER win. Good to see them playing better, and should be interesting to see how this upcoming road trip goes.
  19. Well other than the fact he can't field, strikes out 1,438,214 (estimate) times a year, and can't hit a sac fly (the numbers on that are incredible)....i'd stay he's a stud. But seriously, quite a story there.
  20. The one place where numbers don't matter is projecting college players to the pro's. Nothing is more deceiving in sports than a college players numbers, even if they are against top notch opponents.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) I have grown to the point where I can't stand people that lump all running QB's together. Vick and Young are so similar!! Vick: small, skinny QB who is really fast. Has a strong arm, but no accuracy. Young: HUGE, STRONG QB who is quite fast (but not like Vick). Has a average to slightly above average arm, but is pretty accurate. But they both black and can run, so what's the difference?? :headshake
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) Big Ten Standings at the conclusion of January 28 games: Big Ten Basketball Standings TEAM CON GB OVR Illinois #7 5-2 - 19-2 Michigan 5-2 - 15-3 Iowa 5-2 - 16-5 Wisconsin #21 5-2 - 15-5 Indiana #11 4-2 ½ 12-4 Ohio State #16 4-3 1 14-3 MSU #12 4-3 1 16-5 Northwestern 3-4 2 10-8 Penn State 2-5 3 10-8 Purdue 1-7 4½ 7-12 Minnesota 0-6 4½ 9-8 IU has a chance to even up with the 5-2's with a match-up in Minnesota at 1 tomorrow. Why am I so nervous about a game against an 0-6 team? The same reason I was nervous for the home games this week against Minny and Purdue. The Big Ten is so tough, so a game against a seemingly "easy" opponent can always lead to a flat performance. Also, didn't Purdue give you a decent game in Bloomington a week or two ago?
  23. Ramone Johnson has verballed to Tennessee, per rivals. Not a surprise, but still sucks. Just bring me either Vontae Davis or Duvalt and maybe a mystery verbal and call it a day.
  24. Iowa won at home by 5 over tOSU tonight. And in AMAZING news, rumor has it the Sqwawks fans DID NOT charge the floor.
  25. Not sure what has gotten into Tyson lately, but it's great. We still are too damned small, but seeing our only true big guy and highest paid player earn his keep is certainly a good sign.
