I think this farm is a lot deeper than a lot of people have given it credit for. The White Sox have had some absolutely horrendous luck on the injury front with prospects this year, but from a developmental standpoint, there have still been so many good seasons. You can find several at each of the three highest affiliates. To me, that's an indication of a very deep farm system.

He and Lambert have both developed into legitimate prospects with mid-rotation ceiling. The development staff should get some credit for this considering how quick everyone typically is to place the blame with them when things go wrong.

I'd like a higher ISO, but the rest of those numbers from Moncada are very encouraging and in line with what he was doing before the injury. Maybe he was playing through being hurt and his true talent right now (at age 23) is a 15% BB, 25% K, .175-.225 ISO kind of player. With a .320 BABIP, that would make a pretty strong line, something like .260/.380/.460, which is a very good player. He's also at the point on the aging curve where he's highly likely to continue getting better. To me, that seems like a player to be excited about.

Well, crap, you're right on that. The 90% thing must have been the effective rate when considering corporate and individual tax. Change the number to 52% or 50% and it's still a valid point for the individual side (where rates were much higher) and shows how much power and sway corporations have held in our country for a very long time.

Presumably that's 2018 money.

How would raising taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations or removing the social security wage cap "directly crush the economy of her district"? Businesses seemed to operate just fine under Eisenhower's 90% tax rate, and no one even wants anything close to that now. The Laffer curve did have a point, but we passed the point of diminishing marginal return on it in the 1980s.

Rodon isn't a prospect, but he is a pitcher the White Sox developed that's still on the team. What players are you speaking of that were "fawned over from 2014-2016"?

I'd honestly want right side of IF guys (SS, 3B) or Cs if we're targeting specific positions. I could see a team coming to the Sox with a good offer for Avi, someone with a need for a power bat that doesn't want to pay elite prices. The question is would Hahn take the deal.

Eloy is a monster, but I'm not giving him 2008 Manny Ramirez cred until he proves it at the ML level. He's not a one man team yet. At least not in MLB.

You're counting Fulmer and not Rodon? That seems biased for the purpose of making your point, especially since a lot of people thought the bullpen was Fulmer's destination anyway. Rodon has clearly developed into a frontline starter IMO. Also, Lopez and Giolito could still become frontend or mid-rotation starters. Then there's Kopech, Stephens, Adams, Guerrero, Cease, Hansen, Dunning, Medeiros, Lambert, Flores, and all but one of those guys are legit prospects who have performed well in AA or higher this year. If you get 1/3 of Lopez, Giolito, and Fulmer to stick as a starter, then 1/3 of the list of guys in AA or higher that I listed to stick as a starter, and combine them with Rodon, you have a starting rotation and likely a formidable bullpen.

Except that there's a force in Charlotte waiting to be unleashed on the league, and several waves of talent behind him. It'll get better, starting next year.

Hansen needs to get back with Zaleski. That was the guy who fixed him initially, so he's likely the best one to figure out the problem and help him adjust and fix it. I don't believe talent like what Hansen displayed the last two seasons just evaporates, so it's probably a mental thing like many here have said. Maybe Zaleski can get him out of his head again.
