Ceiling fans and industrial carpet
Need a little help. I'm part owner of an apartment complex, and we pay utilities. I want to convert the ceiling fans from 3 or 4 bulbs to one bulb. I've done it before, but I can't find the caps to make this conversion anywhere (Home Depot, lighting stores, etc). Anyone know where to find these? Also, I want to find industrial carpet at a price cheaper than $0.53/sq ft that HD has. Any ideas? This is the type of stuff that should be easy to find on the net. Unfortunately, you have to sift through 10,000 web sites that are not useful before finding what you want. Help. The money I save will be invested in Sox gear and 30 packs of Bud Light.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) If it was a white man saying the same thing about black people we would be up in arms calling him a racist and bigot. Not calling him respectable because he spoke his mind. I hope Hardaway suffers the same way Rocker, Campanis, Jimmy the Greek, and Richards, et al.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Sheesh...Rush also? Ya know who I used to love as a kid, but fell out of love with, and have tried getting into again, but I am now convinced fooled everybody by recording albums of about 75% "filler", then having 25% really good? Van Halen I still like 1984.

Number One The Day You Were Born
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Day I was Born: Come On Eileen - Dexy’s Midnight Runners - No idea if this is a good song or bad one (maybe I'd know based on hearing it). It's either the best or worst song you'll ever hear. No in between.

Name My Dog
Pretty sure I'm going to lose this one to my wife. Every suggestion I make, she asks me "What does that mean?" In other words, "We're going with Guinness!" I always wanted to name a dog Rudy (for Rudy Law). I suggested Rudy last night, and my wife gave her now patented response "What does that mean?" Rather than explain, I downed four raw eggs and looked forward to surprising her later.

Name My Dog
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 25, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) Just try to make sure it's something that you can live with yelling around other people if the dog runs off, so you're not yelling the name of a Disney character or something like that... I don't like my neighbor, and I joked to my wife that we should name the dog after him.

I'm listening to 10000 Maniacs "In My Tribe" right now. 16 Years ago my then girlfriend (now wife) got into a fight over this disc. We were freshmen in college, and she was having a party in her room. She was playing this disc, and I asked her if she had anything else. Something less depressing. She kept saying, "Listen to the words." My refusal to acknowlege the excellence of the words led to a biiiig fight. I still bring it up every so often. I'll just say "listen to the words." It's something we laugh about now.

Name My Dog
It's a male boxer, and my wife's original thought was Bailey. Now she wants Guinness. I'm Irish, but I don't know that I want to go that way with the name. It shouldn't be this hard to name a dog.

Name My Dog
I've finally broken down and allowed my wife to get the kids a dog. Of course, after the new dog smell wears off, I will be responsible for walking, cleaning, picking up after, and whatever else the dog requires, but such is the life of a married man. Anyway, we don't have a name that I like yet for the dog. Dog is a boxer. I'm open to suggestions.

'06 Bears v. '05 Sox - no contest, "That's a White Sox winner." The Sox winning removed (somewhat) the stigma attached to being a Sox fan. The Sox are recognized nationally now more than ever. A lifetime of losing was lifted from our collective shoulders. The '06 Bears are a great story, but the '85 Bears are relatively recent news. They're still omnipresent in Chicago. So the '06 Bears don't compare, though I have to admit, I was really excited Monday when I heard the "Super Bowl Shuffle" on a local (AZ) sports show. If the question is '85 Bears v. '05 Sox, that's a little closer for me. The '85 Bears have no comparison in any sport in my lifetime. Proverbial perfect storm of personalities, city dying for a winner, and a totally dominant team. That season was surreal. I'll call it a tie between '85 Bears and '05 Sox.

Vick water bottle confiscated by Miami airport security
I used to do quite a bit of international travel, and rather than pay taxes on the items I brought back from other countries, I used to "keester" everything to get through customs. I became quite good at it. I could probably get a small foot-stool across the border this way in my prime. Now, no more than a water bottle.
