  1. he had many TOOTBLANs and it is time to train him to be more focused. if they hadnt happened he might not have been sent down the first time
  2. Ishbia will probably be like other owners in that, when he does take over or start giving money... he wont pay FAs during losing years. he will try to time it with prospects being at their near prime. cant expect this to be Superman. at first any new owner will seem that way but reality sets in after awhile. Just dont be bottom tier ownership, plz i mainly just ask that you not be in a war vs player agents. we pay to see the players play, not to see your franchise's newest off-field ideas, fashion, concessions
  3. I told you I'm just like a clock when I tick and I tock But I'm never off, always on to the break of dawn D-O-L-T-O-N
  4. I think they are sending Brooks a lesson here though about all his TOOTBLANs. he can sit and think about it for awhile and wins are not crucial for us at MLB level rn. so we can afford to do some greater-good lesson giving
  5. Has the feel of now Getz wanting to show Ishbia he belongs in his current post. Time to get a few wins on the board this year
  6. One thing that irrationally upsets me about Meidroth-- you just know that...Jerry.. ...loves this guy
  7. Fans and prospect evaluators had very differing views of what Elko is. He was not making the Top 30 lists, which is actually not that hard to do if you are any good
  8. jerry's partners have not had payouts in a long time. if he passed away tomorrow, they would be sold right after. the only way it would drag on is if michael secretly loved the idea of being a baseball owner for awhile but i dont really see him involved with the team much rn. just basketball.
  9. crawling through the Shawshank s%*# pipe for 40 years, i think at some point i looked to my right and noticed Mike Caruso. but just kept plowing along.
  10. it is nice that when i visit my dad i can now have this on in the background instead of the loud politics men
  11. Tauchman was great for the clubhouse- he has taught you that you gotta limp across that finish line even if you are down to one leg ha-chaaa
  12. not sure how to feel about this, after all i am still extremely upset that Law was UNFAIR TO MADRIGAL the greek god of contact
  13. Teams dont give up hitting and Thaiss was clearly sell-high situation so i'm fine with it
  14. There probably is little market, but youre arguing we want 0 over maybe-something. I would rather have a reliever than nothing, so what is the harm in trying? People think Elko will be harmed by some more AAA time. I dont get it. How does that hold back his value? Was Eloy going to be better with 2 earlier months in MLB? No. He was always going to be this thing he became.
  15. another thing to consider too is that bats just were not plentiful at the last deadline. we will have bats to offer, the question is.. are they good. the deadline stats will tell that tale, not the current ones.
  16. Vaughn might be worth nothing but if you can get him hot for these next months then there is a little something there. there is team control for next year so that brings in suitors that are smaller market teams that like that team option (of sorts). We dragged the Fedde trade endlessly. Now a guy we got from that at the deadline is producing and the young prospect Perez is having a nice year. If Vaughn is worth a reliever with some control, ok, it's not much. But we talk about how the Dodgers pile pitching upon pitching, so we have to stop whining about our lack of a pile and try to put one on the pile. If we can get one.
  17. i know it will be unacceptable to the masses here but: what matters more is maybe getting Vaughn hot enough to trade him for some teams #30 prospect. he would have to get really hot. but there is still something to gain there (he obviously will not be here in 2026, but a trading team would get control for 2026, so they could make the decision) Elko development is less important than that. Because we are going to be bad for awhile so Elko can feel free to develop after the trade deadline, and that lost time is not going to really matter much in the grand scheme. He'll either get it or he wont but experience from now-to-deadline wont make or break that. He also may honestly not be more than like a second division regular 1B, even though right now our eyes are very wide open over him
  18. Lenny Sosa on a little bit of a hitting spree lately
  19. technically though these social media posts are correct because the pope is bound to Love All People
  20. Ishbia is going to come here and try to make it a moneymaker, and then put money into it. what we want-- it's going to go the other way. at least at first Cubs fans were openly told 'we are going to build the neighborhood up first' and big ticket FAs were not signed. and that is pretty ballsy to do in a case where you already have a big attendance you can risk losing. the sox dont even have That, as a start off point, though. these are land deals. even though they are the stuff of our hearts
  21. thank you. to refer to T2/Miles Dyson..you have detailed files
  22. the thing with Elko is we are so metrically sound in today's game that it would be weird for a dangerous bat to fall that far in the draft. Unless he somehow added some crazy amount of bat speed. the expected stats in MILB indicate he was due to come back to earth some. it's wild to think it but if George Wolkow spent a few years improving his bat to ball a decent amount, he'd just be at Elko level, and we're not sure if Elko can make it on his bat. Conclusion being, MLB is difficult as hell.
  23. This is egg on the face of all Sox fans who dared actually leave a little open room on the face that didnt already have egg on it
