  1. Sox in HD tonight... thats a good thing
  2. If these things are using russian technology, they are doing us a favor. Back in 91 during the first gulf war, I remember a number of retired russian generals warning us that the Iraqi Army had much of the finest Russian technology around. In short, the Iraqi's were predicted to give us a pretty hard time in 1991.... ... somehow, things didn't turn out that way. If we had gone to war with Russia in the 70's or 80's, barring any nuclear deployment, we would have destroyed them. The more money Iran spends on Russian technology, the less they will have for other nefarious purposes. Let them waste it.
  3. as anyone mentioned this week how much 9:05 start times suck?
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) In that, he is correct. Case in point. The guy knows his stuff. Cutler is J.P. Lossman/Kyle Boller part deux. Mel Kiper Jr. loved Kyle Boller though... he got that one wrong. I think he was just lukewarm on Losman... who genuinely sucks.
  5. QUOTE(samclemens @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) anderson just hit that homer off of guardado to tie the game. therefore, this thread needs to be erased immediately. At this point, he's got more home runs than Barry Bonds...

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Proof the game was fixed! nice one... and where did you get that avatar?
  7. Hard to identify THE greatest seinfeld moment... but this is on the list... KRAMER: I hate KEITH HERNANDEZ - hate him. NEWMAN: I despise him. ELAINE: Why? NEWMAN: Why? I'll tell you why... KRAMER: Let me tell it .. NEWMAN: No, you can't tell it .. KRAMER: You always tell it .. NEWMAN: All right, tell it. KRAMER: Ja ja ja - just tell it NEWMAN: June 14, 1987.... Mets Phillies. We're enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the right field stands when a crucial Hernandez error to a five run Phillies ninth. Cost the Mets the game. KRAMER: Our day was ruined. There was a lot of people, you know, they were waiting by the player's parking lot. Now we're coming down the ramp ... Newman was in front of me. Keith was coming toward us, as he passes Newman turns and says, " Nice game pretty boy.". Keith continued past us up the ramp. NEWMAN: A second later, something happened that changed us in a deep and profound way front that day forward. ELAINE: What was it? KRAMER: He spit on us.... and I screamed out, "I'm hit!" NEWMAN: Then I turned and the spit ricochet of him and it hit me. ELAINE: Wow! What a story. JERRY: Unfortunately the immutable laws of physics contradict the whole premise of your account. Allow me to reconstruct this if I may for Miss Benes as I've heard this story a number of times. JERRY: Newman, Kramer, if you'll indulge me. According to your story Keith passes you and starts walking up the ramp then you say you were struck on the right temple. The spit then proceeds to ricochet off the temple striking Newman between the third and forth rib. The spit then cam off the rib turned and hit Newman in the right wrist causing him to drop his baseball cap. The spit then splashed off the wrist, Pauses In mid air mind you- makes a left turn and lands on Newman's left thigh. That is one magic luggie.
  8. I think he's pretty good... but he tends to play his favorites... He hates Jay Cutler...
  9. To quote the simpsons "Welcome to Dick Cheney's America..."
  10. In three outings this year, left handed batters have owned radke. In 19innings this year, he's given up 5 homers, 16 hits, and a BAA of .390 against lefties... Jim Thome drools...
  11. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Man, Gameday still has Kong up to bat... yikes. I've noticed a trend with gameday that they tend to be very slow on fridays and weekends... maybe they need to hire more people
  12. QUOTE(allupons @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) anybody else realise kyle orton is in the background when they zoom in on right handed hitters yes he is... nice call
  13. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) "Man mountain" strength is right. Who else thought Torii was gonna pull that one back? the thought crossed my mind briefly
  14. as an aside, artie moreno stole the anaheim angels... he bought them three years ago for 183 million...

    Da Ali G Show

Has anyone heard if they are doing a season three of Da Ali G Show? I read an article a while back that a Kazachstani reporter caused a near-riot at a rodeo when he flubbed the national anthem and wished that George Bush would drink the blood of every man, woman in child in iraq. This suggests that Sasha Baron Cohen has been doing some other Ali G work. I've got my fingers crossed for a third season...
  16. Wirtz is just arrogant enough to believe that he can push the cubs over the top and give them the world series that would rehabilitate his poor reputation in this town. Maybe that might be an incentive for him... ... nonetheless, I doubt this is really going to be happen... It would bring me great joy, but it would take the perfect storm of circumstances before Wirtz would buy the chicago cubs. I know he's wealthy, but with the destroyed value of the hawks, does he even have the capital to buy the cubs?
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) LOL.. always controversy with AJ ???
  18. two scores on WPs today and on "Rbi" on a hbp? wierd
  19. Is Elarton staying in the game? can i get an update on the aj AB
  20. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) Accordong to the Marlins web site he has 1 HR & 4 RBI. Sorry, i meant to type that he had 2 homers in his last five games... he hit one today
  21. For whatever reason, I was kinda sad when we traded Olivo for Garcia a few years back. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we got Freddy... but I felt Olivo was a hefty price to pay. Actually, i heard rumors that he was really upset to leave the sox... He's down in Florida right now and he's starting to heat up. After a slow start, he's got 2 homers in the last five games and he's starting to make some nice contact. I, for one, am rooting for him. I hope he turns into an all-star... I wish him the best of luck...
  22. I love pti... it separates itself from the myriad of crappy shows ESPN has regularly programmed
  23. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) im pretty sure chavez, arod, thomas and borchard have all hit the concourse...pasqua hit one 484, but i remember he hit one onto the roof at the old park, that had to be the farthest... That Pasqua one is the homer I'm talking about in my above post. I think it was a late inning homer against the california angels. I'll never forget it...
  24. Off the top of my head, I saw two other home runs which made me shudder: 2) I'm pretty sure that A-rod hit one to the concourse in left in the second game of a rangers double header in 2000. 1) Dan Pasqua hit one out of the old stadium against the A's circa 1988... still the longest I've personally seen. Non-white sox honorable mention: ESPN Las Vegas Home Derby - Pat Burrell hit one of the top of the light tower in left-center of Cashman field which has enormous dimensions to begin with...
