  1. If he’s actually having a physical issue there are laws that prevent the employer from saying more without the player’s permission.
  2. The White Sox will Play with a 24 man roster for this series, IL both Robert and Eloy after the break for Burger and Grandal.
  3. My god does this team have a lot of DHs.
  4. Spotrac calculates something called "production points" which they describe as similar to fantasy points calculated across all production categories. In that ranking, out of veterans (excluding early career guys/first contract guys) Abreu comes in 15th in the bigs and best on the White Sox this season. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/valuation/batters/gmpct-60/veterans/
  5. You can’t put a guy on the 60 day IL unless they are actually seriously hurt. This hits union rules, the CBA. The white Sox would face a grievance and would lose badly, and there would probably be some pretty hefty penalties- either a big fine or a loss of a first round draft pick or something like that. Eloy also was the guy in ‘18 who was pleading to be called up and wrote the “I’m ready” article, so they will have no problem taking the White Sox over the coals if they break rules like that.
  6. While I get the concept there’s a contract and roster spot issue here. Eloy has a roster spot and about $30 million guaranteed. How are you keeping all these guys and adding a RF? Who is getting cut if you don’t want to option Sheets or Vaughn to AAA. I guess maybe you could pull off optioning Eloy to AAA and having him be the best paid minor leaguer in the game for August?
  7. Holy shit they’re actually going to play a man down the entire series against the Twins and then IL him for Grandal after the break and I was too cynical to believe they’d actually do it enough to come post that.
  8. They said the hamstring he grabbed was the same one from the surgery
  9. Leury is fine in situations if coached and used correctly. “All my food must spend at least 20 seconds on the floor specifically in the pile of cat vomit” - Tony LaRussa
  10. Literally are there any underperforming teams left that haven’t fired their manager? Maybe San Fran?
  11. 2 righties. Both went on the IL earlier this year and struggled when they came back. Both have been a better than this in their careers. Both had ERAs in the 3.5-4.0 range in 2021. Both are 27 years old. 1.45 WHIP vs 1.44 WHIP this season. Civale gave up 1 run last time out against KC, Giolito (and his manager) gave up 5 last time out against Detroit.

If a GM has no control and is being undermined to create a losing franchise, he should resign. He might lose money at the time, but he keeps his reputation and chances at future employment in tact. His reputation has been trashed this year - 2 winning halves of baseball in nearly 10 years is something else.
  13. Lance Lynn who is recently off the IL whose fastball has lost velocity and who has an ERA of 7, vs Dylan Cease who is like 2nd in the AL in strikeouts?
  14. Lambert, Lopez, and Graveman? I don't know that they'll keep it scoreless, but the Sox already have a 3 run lead so...
  15. I think they fired the AAA manager under unknown circumstances and have covered up the reasons why?
  16. Honestly yes, I would imagine he would have extended Beckham after his first season.
