No one is paying Hendriks's value, not with his screwy contract structure that makes him way more expensive to any team in the tax, and a forearm injury. Graveman however is far more affordable and has not been recently injured.
-
Said this in the last thread. The guys who you should be moving are: Gravemann, Cueto, Lopez. Possibly moving: McGuire (happy to listen to offers but white sox could have use for him too) Abreu: up to him if he wants to be moving. He would have suitors and return something of value. Most of the other guys are either: Guys who you expect to have their value grow because they're young, guys whose value is depressed because of bad years or injury, and guys who are plain worthless. None of them likely to bring enough of a return to justify moving them.

Is it true that there's some chance that Twitter's board will be able to get a court to say "Screw you you're paying up fully as they kept up their end of the deal completely"?
-
More accurately, he's officially on his way to court now, and a lot of lawyers are about to make a lot of money. Right?
-
I was fully wrong about him being untradeable, but i was fully right about him no longer being a good reliever.

I don’t know who else had the radio broadcast, but in the 8th inning DJ had it figured out after one pitch. “Vaughn is so angry at hitting the ball hard and getting no hits he is just trying to hit the ball over the fence”, in some version….and it worked! Like 10 line drives to the RF did less for him than one attempt to pull the ball in the air!
-
I sorted by LF. Alvarez was included in this. Alvarez, admittedly, is outperforming Vaughn offensively, but his DH penalty is less than Vaughn's OF defense penalty. On top of that, Vaughn needs to be better offensively, like tonight. He needs to be so pissed that he ignores the advice he's getting to hit the ball on the ground the other way, and make the mistake of pulling the ball in the air for home runs. Both of those have to do with coaching. Vaughn cannot be a LF, he is uniquely bad out there - worse than Alvarez! and Somehow, his coaches are making his offense worse than his competition.
-
I’m picturing the white Sox defense if Vaughn plays LF for next year, and our LF is putting up like a .900 OPS and a 1 WAR season because his defense fully offsets his offense. The same guy is an all star if he’s a DH.

This single game literally had to be prophesied on the Georgia Guidestones. Which were destroyed today. -

That was nuts. -
Will there be another tie and lead before I get back to my hotel?

Shoulder shrug

I think Robert adjusted to avoid a collision and that prevented him from playing the ball, you can see a little course correction in the replay.
-
They're 21st in ERA overall, and 19th in ERA in the first inning. However, their first inning ERA is higher than their overall average, so yeah they're worse in the first but so are a lot of teams?
-
Because their fans and owner buy that excuse.

Graveman has turned out pretty well also and he will probably be a top name on the trade market this month.

I don't know how things break down on these guys other than the Kelly signing where they clearly said "this was TLR", but I will note that "dumping money into relievers" has been a Rick Hahn thing his entire career (Robertson, Colome, Herrera), and signing utility guys and starting them has been a Rick Hahn thing his whole career (Keppinger, Beckham, Bonifacio, Lawrie). So unless he were to have resigned previously to take his hands off this mess - he can't get a pass even if he's being partially overruled. The moves this offseason perfectly fit with his MO.
-
So we will arbitrarily choose to start this time block on June 13, including a 5 hit day but excluding an 0/5 day on June 11, we will ignore the fact that he has struck out 15 times and walked 3 times in those 47 plate appearances, and jump for joy at the totally sustainable .429 BABIP over that stretch because he's guaranteed to keep that up.

“Oh stop, we don’t need a GM, LaRussa a hall of Famer, he can handle both the coaching and GM jobs.”
-
Technically we were at one of those points in 2013.

The Cubs traded away Rizzo last year and the guy they got for him is in their top 10 prospects on MLB.com, although he’s like 18 and down at A ball. If traded, Jose will bring a decent enough talent, nothing that reshapes the system, but either a guy who is MLB ready and could contribute or who will fit somewhere in our top 15 if he’s a bit younger. With the NL DH, there should be several options that work for him if they agree to move him.
-
And because of how things work, there will be randomly some games or weeks where it is bloody obvious how bad he is because several balls are hit to the right spots, and then a few weeks where it seems like he’s doing fine because a couple of those balls wound up closer to him, so people forget.
-
The first question to figure out is going to be whether he wants to be traded to a contender at the end of July. He’s definitely hitting well enough this year to be movable, and I think it’s obvious that you only move him if he’s ready to go.
-
Just to stress this - he's actually been not as terrible for the last month, and Andrew Vaughn is still the worst OF in baseball according to statcast and under "Success rate added" he comes in as easily the worst performing fielder in baseball.
