QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) I officially gave up on the show. It has been deleted from the DVR. I tried, I really did, but it's really not a good show. While I was watching the pilot, I believe, my 9-year old son said, "Why does that dinosaur look so fake?" For a show that has been built up to have great special effects, it's a major disappointment. Plus the story lines suck, and the acting is just this side of atrocious. With shows like House, Fringe, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, and Person of Interest, I have enough to watch without relying on crap like Terra Nova. That was what immediately turned me off. I can't watch bad CGI.

QUOTE (juddling @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 06:58 AM) Surprised noone mentioned SOA this week. I thought it was another pretty good episode. The look and speech Jax gave Clay after her made the remark about Tara was awesome. For the first time in a long time (to me) Jax actually seemed dangerous. That of course builds into what's coming next week. Next Tuesday night can't come fast enough. Not too much happened, which is probably why people didn't comment on it. It was definitely a set-up episode.

QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) That crap is so overblown and weak anyway. People who say "he kicked his ass', I think, have never been in a proper fight in their lives. Robin gets headlocked, while being held onto by two other people, smacked a couple times in the top of the head, and doesn't even bleed. The whole thing is over in like 3 seconds or less. And people still talk about it here like he was KO'd or hospitalized. Or that its sooooo embarrassing to lose a fight. Get a grip people. I can't imagine how hard a person would have to punch in order to cause another person to bleed from the top of their skull. -
I sure wasn't aware of that stuff.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) No, thats definitely not true. Their roster has actually taken a step backwards and may actually be worse than last year. The players are the ones that actually have a direct effect on the record of the ballclub. As of right now, they arent as good as the s***ty team they had last year. I meant in the FO/leadership aspect.

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) I do? I thought he wasn't too good at the start of this year or the end of last year. Im just confused I didn't play fantasy baseball the last two years and it screwed me up He started off badly and got better for the most part.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) It's just them trying to drive the asking price up. Clearly.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CUBS JUST PICKED UP THE BEST GM IN HISTORY OR NOT. THE FACT IS THAT THEY HAVE DRASTICALLY IMPROVED. PERIOD. NOT UP FOR DEBATE.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) Hell these hires (and the retention of KW) could end up working out in the end but that does absolutely nothing for my current mental health and nothing the Sox have done over the past month has inspired a shred of confidence in the fan base. Meanwhile we're forced to watch while across town Tom Ricketts has done exactly what he promised when he bought the Cubs: blow up the pathetic, losing culture that has overwhelmed that franchise for generations. Not only has he radically altered the trajectory of his franchise he's seemingly done it flawlessly to this point. The Cubs get Theo who sells his vision about as well as anyone and we get the perpetually vexed KW, things are good. So, I take it you are also against the Sox hirings as well? I don't think I ever saw you weigh in since it happened.

Also, I don't care how old she's getting compared to when she was first in Labyrinth (15), Jennifer Connelly has hardly aged at all. I'd lose a finger to nail her.

I watched quite a few movies in the last few days. House Of Sand And Fog - Awesome Pirate Radio - Pretty damn good Attack The Block - Good About to watch Everything Must Go.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:48 PM) No doubt. That's why you get one of those wakeup 99 cent wraps to go along with it Never had one, and it's not like I eat there very often. Maybe once a month, tops.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Not if it's just movies. I'm sure TV and movies can be lumped together. I think comics would be too hard.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unthinkable You haven't seen this? I recommend it. Samuel makes the whole movie, IMO. I was absolutely sure that you just messed up the word. I've never heard of that movie.

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) Cashman hinted in a conference call he won't be in the market for a LHRP, but Danks... yes please. How was Thornton this year? I remember he was good, then not so good haha. I kind of lost track of him tho You have it backwards.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) Uh, so was mine. I'm not even certain that there is sales tax on something like a sports franchise. There's money to be made, so I'm sure the government has its hands in there. Then again, it's rich people's money, so maybe they don't.

A manager with experience? How foolish.

Vote for villains, GoSox, SS2k5, and B>W. And you too, Steve!

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Votes changed: BigEdWalsh and Milkman delivers Thank you, sir.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) You disappointed me. The next answer was supposed to be... well what if they figured out the exact price needed, that when you added sales tax, it ended up exactly at a billion dollars? I was going to do that, actually. I just didn't feel like typing it out when I could just say I was joking.
-
And trust me, I tried quite a few times

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) come on hawk loved to watch both of them run...stocky switch hitting black gentleman...easy mistake...not like confusing the one dog with either of them.. I'm pretty sure Franco wasn't a switch hitter.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) With sales tax, that would push the total price over $1B. Oh shut up, it was a joke
-
So, it looks like it's villains, defunct teams, or animated movies. Can we just start a new thread with those three options?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) Fixed I figured that was coming. And while the croissant is delicious, it's not nearly as filling as the bagel.
