  1. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) I agree that it is a good show but the Gemma and Tara thing are tired storylines....the boss thing interests me. Still a good show but I think it is only good for another season. I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not due to the phrasing, but I've been saying that for weeks.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) I've got tickets as well. Ooh, perhaps we can meet up
  3. Boardwalk Empire and Dexter have both jumped in front of SOA for me this season. But like someone said, it's on a Tuesday so there's not much else to watch. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Yeah, it's on his special "Completely Serious". Tosh is my fav. comedian. Gonna see him this month.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 09:46 AM) I will say it's time for me to fess up and say that I'm a bit disappointed in this SOA season. It's been entirely enjoyable, of course, but certainly not up to par. So much of it is unbelievable... like Jax could sit next to the man who knows where his kid is and not go ballistic is totally unbelievable. All this bulls*** they are doing in Ireland is just dumb, and for the love of God the Gemma storylines have been unbearable. Add to that the BS going on back in Charming, and it's just a frustrating season. I want to see some good old gun running and porn operations back in Charming with a dose of drug-stopping. And now we have to deal with Tara being abducted, let alone the unbelievable storyline of her boss caring about her after she beat her ass. It's just been a letdown. I still love it, and look forward to it, but it's a letdown this year. I think we agree on all of that (as I already said most of it ), except the part about Jax not losing it with the priest. I don't care how distraught he or anybody is, you wouldn't touch an IRA underboss in his hideout in his home country.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 07:32 AM) If AJ leaves and plays for a team that goes to the postseason, the posters sort of saying get rid of him right now will pull a Uribe and suddenly love him. There is a lot AJ adds to a team. The White Sox bench does not call pitches, so while its ultimately up to the pitcher, the staff has trusted him through the years and that's a big plus. Problems with catchers, no matter what their stature is trouble, see Burnett and Posada. He also is a workhorse. Not having to play your back up catcher 60 games a year is something we haven't seen for a long while. There is a reason they are back up catchers and usually its because they hit like pitchers. I hope they retain him. I just don't see anyone better than him the Sox have a reasonable chance of acquiring. You know that those two things have absolutely nothing to do with one another. You can love a player and still know that it's time for him and the organization to go separate ways. Go back and find the thread where it was mentioned that Uribe was allowed to walk/signed with the Giants. I guarantee you will see quite a few people say that they really liked/loved Juan, but that it was just time for a change. But since you were one of the few who always defended Uribe (and trust me, I defended him quite a bit), you're going to make it seem that everyone wished death upon Juan when he left.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 07:42 AM) I dont know. He wore down in the 2nd half, his OPS went from .919 to .748. He didn't hit all that much in the postseason either. $9 million would be a large over-pay IMO. I could see him staying in Texas, but maybe for half that amount. Exactly, plus you have to figure they have some extra money to play with since they made it to the World Series. Perhaps they'll sign or trade for a hitter who isn't as much of a risk as Guerrero.
  7. Can it be less than five words? I think I'd go with this: Yippee-ki-yay, motherf***ers
  8. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) If you want a platoon in RF, we'd be better off finding a platoon partner for Jones. His fWAR was nearly 2 in a limited role. Better defense and wOBA than Quentin for a fraction of the cost. Is that another new statistic or did you just accidentally hit an extra key?
  9. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Oh thats true. Video games would make for an odd list. I'm not sure how a video game list would turn out really. It would either be a mixture of current and old school games, or 20 games that one generation hasn't played. Personally I am 24 and I would vote for a lot of NES, Sega Genesis, and Nintendo 64 games. People older would probably vote more Arcade games, and younger would vote for XBox, and PS3 games. Maybe we should add a pole with the top ideas from this thread and vote on which list to do? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Greatest game ever, no arguments
  10. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) Yes, it's those two I'm trying to figure out. One of them is 'First 9' and he seems a little torn on what's happening. It's just odd to me that they seem to be more loyal to Jimmy O than SAMCRO. It's also a little creepy with the flirting going on between Trinity and Jax. Liam (the dark haired Irish SOA member) is obviously the bad guy. Keith (the tall, bald Irish SOA member) is just going along with things. If you remember, Liam mentioned to Jimmy O that Keith didn't have the balls to take out SAMCRO. In the last episode, Keith was obviously under the impression that the police at the random stop were going to arrest and deport SAMCRO, thus not harming them. He had no idea that Liam was going to set off that bomb on the farm. Liam is likely going along with the IRA because of money and/or allegiance to the cause, whereas the rest of the Irish SOA members are either ignorant to the situation, doing what Jimmy O says for fear of IRA retaliation (which is smart, as there's no way SOA can stand up to the IRA), or a combination of both.
  11. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Is anyone else getting a little lost with the SOA storyline? I know they've explained who's doing what and why but I'm still not sure I get it. It seems like everyone is trying to kill/double-cross everyone else. I see everyone's angle, but it's almost like they're just trying to muddy up the storyline so that you have no chance at guessing what happens next. I have to be honest, the show's starting to bother me this season. The extreme focus on Gemma to the detriment of the storyline is the prime example, but this past episode had a couple more things that just made me think they're throwing s*** at the wall to see what sticks. How did they not know immediately that the one Irish guy set off the bomb? Come on, he walks out and suddenly the doors get locked and the bomb goes off, and he's out of sight. Nobody thought to check him or go look where he supposedly took a s*** to find the detonator? And then that stupid s*** with the supervisor having a gang tattoo on her back? I swear they're just trying to throw so much s*** out there that you don't expect the next surprise.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Black people usually have to go to black barbers to get specific styles or because of the different texture of it... my hair is fine like a non-black person's butI still have to go to a black barber to get it cut a certain way. Like this?
  13. I just realized that the choice for IL governor is Brady-Quinn. Now I pay almost no attention to politics, but I haven't heard that joke made and I decided to throw it out there.

I mentioned in another thread that I would be buzzing my hair due to my Halloween costume. I hadn't buzzed it since at least high school, but I have to admit that I'm considering buzzing it each time now.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) He was being sarcastic because there was a poster on this board who claimed he wasn't elite. Anyways, did Bengie Molina get to celebrate with the Giants last night? This really isn't news because it all happened years ago, but all three Molina brothers have a World Series ring. That's got to bother one of those guys who played forever on great teams and never won one. That whole family has at least one ring.
  16. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 06:34 AM) Sounds like you've got some drinking to to. You could benefit most from a beer list. I'm just not a fan of the taste of beer. Like I said, I drink Bud Lite only because it seems to have the least amount of taste out there.
  17. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Best movie villains. That would actually be very cool. A good bad guy can make a movie.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) So who had the Giants to win it all in March? Congrats to SanFran. I had them at the beginning of the playoffs, if that counts. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) I'm really happy for Rowand and Uribe it's just awesome that their careers brought them here. Also, hell of a thing for Posey and Renteria. I wouldn't be suprised if Renteria retires and chooses to go out like this. That would be an ending fitting for the start. That would be an awesome way to go out. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) The state of Texas is now 1-8 all time in World Series games. Pretty bad, and now they have the 3rd and 4th longest World Series droughts in the majors.
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 06:24 PM) I don't like horror movies. You can't please everybody all the time. Yeah, but most people have seen 25 movies that can be considered scary. I honestly don't think I've ever had 25 different beers, and I don't think I'm alone.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Sure. The Daley's have been doing it for 50 years. You seem to have a personal vendetta against the Daley family. Did they personally do something to you at some point?
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Come on. We'll even let you put Zima on your list. That's still 11 at most.
  22. I couldn't name 10 beers I've tasted that I liked or care to remember. I only drink Bud Lite because of the lack of taste.

I just have my brother cut it with a trimmer.
  24. My costume ended up being perfect, plus I didn't spend even a dime on it.
