  1. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) RAAAAAAAAANDY That made me think of Family Guy.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) Hey hobo, shut up. He's probably extra fired up from the coke.
  3. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) give Peavy some credit, he hasn't given up like the offense has. The guy gave up 5 runs right off the bat. No, he gets no credit.
  4. Does the "JFP" in the subtitle of the game thread stand for Jake f***ing Peavy? If so, is that said the same way Red Sox fans say Bucky f***ing Dent?
  5. Anyone feel like venting about how much Peavy sucks tonight? Nobody's in there.
  6. Honestly, why does anyone bother arguing?
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) The Patrick Stewart part is from the Holodeck in "Star Trek: First Contact", firing at 2 borg drones. The kid is edited in. If you'd like I can start typing out the script from memory. Ha, I know the second part and that it's edited in. I just couldn't think of any movie where I'd seen Patrick Stewart shoot a gun
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Let alone a player that is as feast or famine as Ryan Howard is... Is that Patrick Stewart firing a machine gun? What's that from?
  9. Anyone else been dealing with this flu that's going around?
  10. Good luck to your family, SoxAce.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) After winning 17-3 tonight the Brewers have now outscored the Pirates 53-4 in their 4 meetings this year. Wow, so they were outscored 36-1 before tonight. That almost sounds worse than 53-4.
  12. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Well, in that case, I agree. If anybody actually thought that, it was stupid. I actually saw/heard that quite a few times. Some people had no idea they were the same age.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) He hit more HRs than Pujols in 3 consecutive years, last year Albert had 2 more. I'm talking in regards to the pace for career homers. They're just about the same age, but Pujols was around earlier and is way ahead for career total.
  14. I never thought of Ryan Howard as being that great. When he first came around, there were a few, well, idiots who thought he'd surpass Pujols in homers. To them, he seemed like the next "young" monster who was on an even more ridiculous pace than Pujols. None of them seemed to realize he's actually older than Pujols.
  15. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) Get your dialing finger ready, Hogan: WWE.com issued the following future endeavors statement: WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Divas Mickie James and Katie Lea Burchill as well as Superstars Shelton Benjamin, Kung Fu Naki, Slam Master J and Jimmy Wang Yang as of today, April 22, 2010. We wish them the best in all future endeavors. I only saw very little of him, but that little bit made me think he was underused.
  16. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) I don't know if this was already mentioned but....from the Yahoo game recap: The White Sox won back-to-back games with game-ending home runs for the first since J.C. Martin and Ken Berry did it in a doubleheader against Cleveland on July 25, 1967, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Imagine how awesome that day must have been.

I saw Avatar in Imax 3D and personally feel like that was the only reason it was awesome. I don't think I want to see it in regular format.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 06:40 AM) Been years since I've seen it, I'll have to go back and rewatch. But I remember Dunaway and Holden turning solid performances, and of course Peter Finch as Howard Beale is one of those iconic portrayals that everybody recognizes and parodies even if they've never seen the original film. Chinatown is another film I saw years ago and loved that I've meant to go back to. Now it'll have to be a double feature. I saw that the other day, too, and really liked it. I thought I'd like Network, but I just didn't.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) I love Network. It may feel dated now, but you have to give it credit for how well it presaged just how far sensationalist shock media would go in time. I see that, but the story itself really lacked for me.

I've watched Network and On Golden Pond the last few days. I was pretty disappointed with Network, given the amount of times I'd heard good things about it. I really enjoyed On Golden Pond, though.
  21. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) Which can happen driving home from a Sox game. I'm being a bit facetious of course, but I think it's also a little stupid to say you would regret something you don't do more than some of the possible consequences of an action.
  22. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Go for it. It may be risky, maybe foolhardy, but live life. You will always regret more the things you don't do than the things you do. Unless you get kidnapped, shot, stabbed, etc. I'd certainly regret doing it more than I would've regretted not doing it.
  23. This has got to be weird for that girl, that's for sure.
  24. This seems like a no-brainer to me. You play.
