QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) Is being Mario really getting hazed? Mario's pretty cool. Is being a girl with enormous knockers really getting hazed? Girls with enormous knockers are pretty cool.

What does the breakdown seem to be? Mostly cheering for the Tigers or Twins? I'm for Minnesota. -

White Sox Pick up Garcia's and Thornton's Option

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 01:07 AM) Not that there was ever any doubt. But the starting rotation is officially set. How many teams can say that at this point? How many teams can say their rotation is already set with such quality starters especially? -
Since Joe Mauer deserves it, Justin Morneau should win it. You know, historical precedent and all.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) What about I Know Who Killed Me? Oh, great catch. That movie would have been hilariously bad if it weren't so excruciating to sit through.

AND THIS BASEBALL SEASON IS OVA!!!
Milkman delivers replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The final game was pretty perfect when you think about it. The Sox had a chance to win a game with some playoff meaning, and we blew it. Story of the entire season. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) This sure isn't helping this American's feeling about the rest of the world right now either. It isn't worth being the world's sugar daddy just so someone will like us. Maybe they should put on a couple of their own olympics and then think about how much America helps teh rest of the world. Agreed.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) Wow.. looks like quite a few of the Blue Jays players want Cito Gaston gone. What a s***ty clubhouse that must be. I'm pretty sure they forced the last guy out, too.
-
I know there is literally no chance of it happening, but it would be cool for the US to completely boycott the next couple of Olympic games. That'd hurt them a lot, I'd imagine.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) You gotta love the IOC... they want our money, but they don't want us. Hopefully the USOC doesn't give them a damned penny. Exactly. I hope we find a way to really stick it to them. Hit them where it hurts, in the penis...I mean wallet.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) Unless it's a close play at 1B (more or less a bunt or a slap the ball) I've never seen Pods hustle to 1B in fact I've seen him dog it many (if not all) times. There's only a handful of players on this that hustle every time and plays the game right. Two of them are rookies. Beckham and Getz? -

I see T R U's point a little. Some of the movies on the list aren't bad enough to be on such a list. I mean, there has to be worse movies in the last decade than a few of these. I just cannot agree with the Strange Wilderness comment, though. That movie was just painful.

I think Jackie Earle Haley is a great choice for Freddy, but I didn't realize he is just over 5'5''.

I just watched Hoffa. I'd highly recommend it.

QUOTE (NIUSox @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) Jones is playing Huxley and the other actor that you see with them is playing Thomas Hooker. It just got a distributing deal in the US and should be coming out in December. It just came out this weekend in the UK. They were saying that they didn't know if it would come out in the US because it would be too "controversial." The funny thing is that the distributing company that picked it up is most famous for distributing "The Passion of the Christ." Also, it is based on the book Annie's Box written by Darwin's great-great grandson. It's disappointing that this would even be an issue in America. It's something I'd expect out of a third world country, or maybe one filled with extremists. I hate Americans more each and every day, I swear.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Guys, we're all huge funs. We post on a message board for christ's sake. No need to get on each others cases. Cop out. Where were you this weekend? -
By the way, Dexter was really good. It's going to be a great season. The addition of John Lithgow and the return of Keith Carradine's character is going to be very, very nice. Lithgow plays a great bad guy.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) I watch a lot of shows. I just haven't seen the new Curb yet. I have to go against you on this one. I see your point, but an entire thread full of spoiler tags would drive me insane.

Zambrano: Sox One of Three Teams He Would Go To
Milkman delivers replied to LVSoxFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (SockMe @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) sorry didn't see this yet...................... Some baseball people believe the White Sox could have interest in the Cubs' Carlos Zambrano, possibly even for the newly acquired Jake Peavy. It would be a way for two teams without much money to spend to shake things up. per Chicago Tribune per si.com What? Who? This sounds retarded. Are these "baseball people" just baseball fans on a message board? -
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Attendance has been down about 2000 per game compared to last year....but I'm not even talking about numbers. Its attitude and actions that prevail. There are a lot of "White Sox fans" (and I use that term loosely) that I wish would convert to the "other team" in town. I'd rather have 50% of the fans and have them give 100% support to the team than to have 100% of our current fans who only deliver 50% support (if we're lucky). Attitudes prevail upon an organization....I don't care if the environment is an office or a ballpark. If you're a real fan of this organization, you are planning for the 2010 World Series now (although I've already seen people on this board dismissing our chances next season before a game is ever played). Again, wow.
-
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) I don't know the particulars of last night crowd....therefore, I didn't comment on it at all. What I said was that most fans "checked out" of this season months ago and all one has to do is look at the archives of this board to see it. As for "fans motivating players" vs. "players motivating fans", I think its a mutual relationship and both should motivate each other. You can contend the players haven't done their job this year (and I'd agree), but I think the "fan support" overall this season has been horrendous and absolutely killed our prospects of saving the season. When most fans are saying things like "you suck", "get rid of them all", and "this team has no chance to win", its definitely not motivating to the team you support. I don't care who you are....when you hear something enough, you start to believe it (why do you think a lot of people think people buy snuggies? because they view enough commercials that tell them its a comfortable item to wear while watching TV). Most kids who get bad grades in school do so because peers or teachers label them as "dumb" and they tend to believe so. I know Ozzie does a lot to try and motivate this team and get them to believe in their abilities. However, when its the voice of 1 vs. an entire fan base, he's fighting a losing battle. Losing sucks....but as Ozzie said in his post game comments its part of the game. However, if the fan base accepts it, the players will too. If you want change, than motivate them to do so.....don't tear down the morale of the team and infiltrate the organization with more of the "we suck" attitude. Haha, wow.
