  1. I believe it's actually called surprise sex.
  2. I have been a fan of Zach Galifianakis for years and I hope he has lots of success, but it is going to really bother me to see a bunch of people suddenly jump on his bandwagon and annoint him the funniest guy ever (and he is easily one of the funniest) simply based on The Hangover.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) AH... Well, now it makes sense. So non-married women and gay men. All non-married women like doing that? I don't think so, but I wish. They're more likely to do it, though, I'd say. And either way, I'll be picking up chicks at Burger King very soon if you guys turn out to be right.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) After that HBP that Ramirez suffered, they might put Beckham in the 2 hole for a few days and put Nix in the 8 spot at SS. How bad was it?
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) I know the Cubs ownership situation has been a hot topic in Chicago, but I think it's settled in that John Danks is the true owner of the Chicago Cubs. Just a great job all around today by the Sox, but especially by him. Ha.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) Did he de-mask Rey yet? Its going to happen again. Rey got stale, thats all they have left for him now. They have played his giant killer role to death Mysterio has bored the hell out of me for like five years now. He does the same three moves all match, and as you said, the giant killer is stale.
  7. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 06:21 PM) John Goodman Amy Winehouse Matthew McCounahey (ab infection) I really hope not.
  8. This hit me harder than Michael Jackson's passing. Honestly.
  9. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) I like how we dealt Corky for a guy whose last name is a synonym for toilet. The Reds' fascination with AAAA Sox players continues. Hopper is a synonym for toilet?
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 07:58 PM) So you are saying that if he doesn't stay fit into his late 30's, he's a steroid guy? From everything I've heard and read, Pujols is a guy who has a work ethic second to none and works extremely hard to be in great shape every year. And I think someone said something about him getting bigger since his minor league days, well duh. He was 20 in the minors and still likely wasn't done growing. Also, considering he was just getting on an MLB conditioning and strength program, I'd say he was just scratching the surface of his physical ability by the time he got up the pros. Sorry, I meant to respond to this days ago but the site went down. I'm saying just the opposite. If he stays toned and fit, like the obvious users of the recent past, then I'll be entirely sold. But as I said, it doesn't matter. He'll be linked to steroids within a few years.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) Well yeah. It's easy to look back at it now when he's down low in the basement and labeled as injury-prone. He's always been labeled as such.
  12. Wouldn't this be like the biggest religious news in centuries?
  13. I saw Letters From Iwo Jima and Sexy Beast the other day. They were both very good movies and highly enjoyable. Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast was one of the best characters in movie history. I find it hard to find Ben Kingsley scary, but he was so bat-s*** crazy that I believed it.
  14. Did I see another black president in that trailer? What is with every disaster flick having a black president?
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 05:25 PM) He's a great hitter in general. If he did use steroids, he would still be one of the game's best players without them. Same thing they said about Bonds. Funny how this is playing out, ha.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1...e_greatest.html So, Williams didn't say anything about Thomas?
  17. I'm going to put this in here because a lot of people reading this likely have pretty nice DVD/speaker systems. I got a new DVD home theater system, and I have it working just fine while playing DVD's. The thing is that I want to get the speakers to work while just watching TV. If it helps, this is the system I got: http://www.lge.com/us/tv-audio-video/home-...stem-LHT854.jsp Any help would be appreciated.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) The man came to the game in one of the biggest steriod years in baseball which they didn't test as of yet. He came out of nowhere in the minors (barely played in AA or AAA and wasn't that great in limited at-bats) He's known to be bigger than he was in the minors in 2000, and was in a contreversial argument with Scott Rolen (who plays the game hard, and never liked Albert) who LaRussa backed up Pujols and later was immediately dealt to Toronto in the off-season. I love Albert as a hitter, and someone compared his numbers to Franks when the Big Hurt was dominating in the early 90's (Ted Williams called Frank the greatest right handed hitter he's ever seen for a reason) but I'm not buying what hes (or people here want to believe) selling as of yet. Correct. It improves hand/eye coordination, vision, strength of course, etc.. There is a reason people do it, not to just hit the ball very far. Thank you, SoxAce. And in regards to that quote, I've heard that said quite a few times. Does anyone have a link to a website with Ted Williams being quoted as actually saying that?
  19. I've heard nothing but bad things about Year One. It doesn't surprise me at all.
  20. Ha, I saw you said these same things on Facebook.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) Even if Pujols does take roids, the effects on him are questionable. Steroids do not give him a better batting eye. Steroids do not give him better place discipline. Steroids do not make his swing perfect and virtually hole-less Medically speaking, steroids do not improve eye-sight and they do not give a player faster reflexes. All it can do is give the player more muscle mass in the upper and lower body which can lead to farther hit baseballs and pitchers with more stamina (now do you wonder how Roger Clemens was still able to pump it up there in the mid 90s in his 40s?). And through past scientific experiments, it's not even a huge difference, but may be the difference between a double off the wall and a home run. This steroids thing is hyped up to be the thing where a guy who is on it might be 5 times better than the player who isn't on them and that's definitely not true. The true effects of steroids are still questionable. As there are guys who have been exponentially better after taking them (Brett Boone) and also many more who have failed in attempt to taking them (see long list of guys who sucked that were on PEDs, like Armando Rios or dare I say Timo Perez). Here's a nicely researched article on this stuff. http://steroids-and-baseball.com/ Exact same things they said about A-Rod. Also, some steroids (specifically HGH) have been shown to improve vision.
  22. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) First off, Rogers Hornsby is arguably the greatest right handed hitter of all time, but got overshadowed because he played in the same era as Ruth. As for Ted Williams, you forget to mention that he had lost 3-4 full seasons due to the war, and that took place during his first 10 years in the bigs. Those were 3 huge years for him as he was 24 and only getting better. The most impressive thing is that he came back in 46 and got back right to where he left off. Pujols wasn't unknown, and the likely reason for him dropping to the 13th round was because he was a JuCo guy. Pujols tore up the minors when he got drafted and was listed as one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Also, there is no reason to think he has taken steroids. Besides good stats, give me one reason to suspect him. I'm not saying he did or didn't, but it's asinine to say he's clearly a PED user because he's been putting up such good numbers. That's crap. In regards to Williams, I only counted his first 9 seasons, not 9 years. I know he was in the war. And the bolded part...just look at the guy. If he starts to get flabby like Thome, Thomas, or Griffey as he ages, I might take back my statement. But hell, by that time, someone will have already tied him to steroids anyway.
  23. Where did the nickname Bacon Slayer come from?
  24. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) So because he's putting up great stats, he's clearly on something? So was Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Roger Hornsby, etc, all juicers as well? He might have taken steroids in his past, I don't know. But there really is no indication of him having taken steroids. His numbers have always been great, he didn't turn into a huge muscle freak over night and his hat size has never grown 10 sizes. And he's never had his name linked to roids. I'm not buying the argument that he's clearly on something, that's bogus. I now feel justified because you disagree with me. Oh, and he's Rogers Hornsby, and Albert Pujols has hit more homers in nine years than Hornsby did in his entire career. In his first nine years in the majors, Pujols has over 50 more homers than Williams had to that point. All the while, Pujols was unknown until he tore up the majors. The guy is on something. You can flame me all you want because there's no rock solid proof yet, but I'm sure we'll see soon enough. By denying it now, you're really just putting off the inevitable.
