  1. I think I'm sold. Carlos Quentin is not a guy you can build your offense around. We need to remember this going forward, especially if we are going to go with the youth movement. I like the guy and his potential is through the roof, but he's a walking injury. He's not our savior and he never will be. He's a nice guy to have for a percentage of the year (which is all you'll ever get out of him), but we are going to need someone like Dye to be the real anchor of the offense each year.
  2. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 05:07 PM) It is quit e a unique situation to say the least, with him going from Real World to RAW. I have to hand it to him, he is a little rough around the edges but he can cut a promo. this whole Cena thing he has going on reminds me of back in the late 90's someone(jericho?) calling out goldberg in WCW every week when everyone knew he was injured and wasnt going to show up. Although, Cena has been in the building lately, so I expect him to smack the Miz down down. Plus, I think Miz is really good at putting others over and taking great bumps.

    QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 07:09 AM) Caught The Edge for the 20th time last night on FMC. I love that film. Highly entertaining movie. I love it.

    I watched Barton Fink last night. Pretty good movie, but a little confusing.
  5. QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) 4 years left on the $126 million....means like $72 million is left...(3 years x $18mil=$54mil...$126mil - $54mil= $72mil left...estimated) Yah it looks not possible, but we have seen KW do some amazing deals. How about we just pour a ton of human excrement onto a pile of $72 million, cover it in gasoline, burn it, and flush it down the toilet? That way, it'll stink less than Zito.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) MacDonald was hilarious last night, but he was definitely on a lot of drugs during that Roast. Why do you say that? He looked dead sober to me.

    Land of the Lost had a few funny parts, but it seemed to be aimed at kids.
  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) Norm Mcdonald was hysterical last night. That's the funniest I've seen him in a long time. the last I saw him was on a Comedy Central roast and I think he was waisted... he was really bad. Last night was classic Mcdonald. That 9001 dudes was awesome. If you're referring to the Bob Saget roast, you couldn't be more wrong. He was sober and intentionally did very tame jokes. It was hilarious.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) Link Woohoo!
  10. I'm not reading through this tread, but I assume the responses "done" and "you got it" have already been used? If not: Done. or You got it.

    QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Is the character boring, monotonous, and bland? Schwimmer plays a very believable douchebag drill instructor.

    QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:28 PM) For those who care about such things....from Entertainment Weekly.com Bradley Cooper may star as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck and Liam Neeson as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in 20th Century Fox's long-awaited movie adaptation of '80s action series The A-Team, Variety reports. Joe Carnahan is already set to direct, with production beginning in late August for a June 2010 release. Faceman is the role originally played by Dirk Benedict; Hannibal was George Peppard's character. The script will retain the series' premise -- four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison to carry out Robin Hood-like missions -- but will hew closer to a Mission: Impossible tone. The roles of "Howling Mad" Murdock and "B.A." Baracus are yet to be cast. How did that series end?

    QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) David Schwimmer's pretty great in "BoB." He fit perfectly for that character, or so it seemed based on descriptions of him.

    QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) Yeah, I think a lot of people's favorite character would be Speirs or Winters. Speirs is just a regular badass. And Winters is essentially the main character and one hell of a leader. I liked Malarkey a lot too. Lipton reminds me of my brother, who was an NCO in the Marine Corps. Also liked Buck Compton a lot. Oh, and how about that little scene with Jimmy Fallon? They did a great job with casting, but that guy does not belong in a war movie, lol. I forgot about Buck. He, too, was great. And speaking of people who don't belong in a war movie, Simon Pegg was also an American soldier in one small scene. EDIT: Oh yes, and the little Italian lost boy from Hook was Perconte, which was awesome.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) There's 2 different forces that could be at work this season that weren't there last year and could have a big impact in the other direction. 1; the Economy. We don't know what JR is telling KW in terms of the budget (although the Peavy trade gives us some idea)...he could have extra motivation to cut costs now to both save JR some money and to free up money to play in the FA market this offseason, and 2. The team at Birmingham, which wasn't there last year and which looks like it's going to be moving a number of players in sooner rather than later. I wish people would just stop saying this. We never spend in free agency, at least on the very good free agents.
  16. Eh, I'm starting to think this guy will never be healthy enough to be a dependable regular.

    QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) The Hangover was the FUNNIEST movie I have ever seen. No questions asked. Absolutely hilarious. I know movie taste is somewhat subjective, but this is a pretty ridiculous statement. I really liked this movie and all, but I can't even see there being an argument for funniest movie ever.

    QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:54 PM) I recently finished the mini-series Band of Brothers and it was phenomenal. I know it's not a movie and this is a movie thread, but I figure a mini-series is close enough, so I thought I'd mention it. Definitely a very cool look at the march to Berlin from the paratrooper perspective, whereas most accounts I've seen/read are from guys that landed on the beaches on D-Day and went from there. Bastogne was hell. And it's definitely sad when you see how many of the original guys that trained at Camp Toccoa ended up dying or wounded pretty badly, but the series as a whole was great. Can't believe I waited so long to finally watch it. Strange that you should mention this. I just finished the series a week ago. It was definitely awesome, and had some great characters. I guess my favorite character had to be Speirs, but close in second were Winters, Lipton, and Guarnere.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) For someone who was supposed to be away for a few months filming a movie, he sure has been on TV a lot. IIRC, the whole bad back angle was supposed to lead him off tv so he could make his bad WWE produced movie Does not compute.

    But if we find out he's been murdered by crystal meth tweakers...then we're s*** out of luck.

    QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) Let me add one more positive review of The Hangover - I laughed A LOT. Zach Galifinakis and Ed Helms were especially great, and Heather Graham didn't have enough lines to f*** it up. Highly recommended!! I agree completely with what you said, plus they showed Heather Graham's tit. Also, I'm definitely pumped for the new Harry Potter. Why would one's man card be on the line for that?

    QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:06 AM) Jeepers Creepers is a pretty decent horror flick. The best part is there is no origin for the Creeper, it just comes out of nowhere. The second movie isnt that bad either Agreed. It was one of the better horror movies in recent memory.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) We should call him Bustham. I vote for Becksham.
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:33 AM) So Gordon Beckham gets called up on my birthday. Nice! Very excited about this. I do have some reservations, just because it isnt often players come up and produce so soon after getting drafted. Can't remember how excited I was for someone's debut before. Happy birthday.
