  1. This is one of those strange scenarios. I like Acta and don't necessarily think he's a bad manager, but those numbers are just atrocious and the manager has to be fired when a team is that bad. It obviously isn't his fault that the team put up such terrible numbers (not entirely, at least), and it was basically a no-win job for him in the first place. All in all, that franchise is f***ed.
  2. I'm surprised nobody has agreed with my scenario.
  3. This is great news. When they speculated that Wakefield would be the starter, I was so angry that I didn't even make a post about it because I would've went on a tirade. That guy doesn't even deserve to be in the game, let alone the starter.
  4. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) WNBA championship. My logic, $5 bucks is lunch but a championship would make some people who I've never heard of really happy so good for them. About the Sox, would I give up ever winning the title for the $100k or would the Sox get to the WS and lose in a heartbreaking fashion because of me and we'd start fresh. Honest answer, give me the $100k. That was my initial thinking, and that's why I put so much thought into it. I felt guilty that I would take a small amount of money over something that would potentially fulfill the life's dream of some people, but given all of that, I'd still take the money.
  5. I can't stand the people who constantly use their Facebook status to complain about how much their life sucks or how they hate their present situation. There's a girl in particular who is still in college, and throughout the entire school year the status was always "cannot stand the stress," "can't wait to be home for break," etc. Now it's the summer, and it's "so over this place" and "can't wait to go back to school." Shut the f*** up. Stop making your problems my problems. I hate complainers (and yes, I see the irony in this post).
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:11 AM) What? I couldn't hold Brent Lillibridge's jock strap on a MLB field. Does that mean he doesn't suck? Yes, because he didn't win a World Series.
  7. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:32 PM) Crede may not be the player he once was, and he wasn't great with us by any means. But the man played a huge role in the stretch and post season run in 2005 and I believe he deserves a bit more respect than just saying he sucks. When the Sox hold a reunion of the team in 2025, you young guys will be hitting your feet for Joe Crede because you will remember what he did and it's very possible that 2005 may be the only World Series victory you have ever experienced at that time. I was 47, almost 48, years old when I saw my first Sox WS Championship. I appreciate those guys. Each and every one of them. Crede, more than most. Joe Crede sucks. Timo Perez sucks. Willie Harris sucks. Cliff Politte sucks. Dustin Hermanson sucks. I appreciate what they all contributed to the team in 2005, and yes, I will cheer for them all at a reunion. But, the above sentences are statements of fact either way.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 10:52 PM) Joe Crede sucks, Gavin Floyd just doesn't know how to get him out. Anyways, great win tonight, although it shouldn't have been that difficult. This team is better built to win games up there, so hopefully we can put up a 4-5 or 5-4 record at the Metrodome here in it's final season. We have seen Crede suck for years. There is no excuse why he should ever see anything but sliders low and away on every pitch. On another note, and I don't want this to sound like a complaint because I've wanted to see the doubles and opposite field hits for years, but it really feels like we haven't hit many home runs in the past month.
  9. Wear the Cubs hat until I sit down, then take it off. How the hell is he going to enforce it once you're there?
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:05 PM) Sorry, but what? I agree that Floyd is an above average pitcher, but you do realize his ERA is nearly 4.5 this year... right? And yes, I know he had a nice stretch where his ERA was below 1.5 and he was dominating, but to be "so f***ing good" you need to be "so f***ing good" for the entire season, not short stretches. I like Gavin as a middle of the rotation guy, but he's as overrated as they come on these boards. I realize this isn't the time or thread for this sort of thing, but it had to be said. Danks is the future ace. I'm not sure how anyone can even argue with that.
  11. Dbaho, it's Pyrenees.
  12. First McNair's girlfriend, now Gatti's wife. f***ing crazy ass women. I think it's time to go gay.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) No i loved it. The score had people calling and complaining about it, but I think brock is the heel champ everyone wanted to appear. Completely agreed. I love hating him right now. I can't wait for someone to knock him out...if that is possible.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) Do you think you'd watch it a second time? Give it a shot, tell me what you think. I already sent it back to Netflix. And even if I owned it, I probably wouldn't watch it again for at least a year. That's not a knock against the movie. I just don't watch movies numerous times unless I think it's one of the greatest movies ever or a really good comedy.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:07 AM) You notice he is gone, yet you do not notice the dramatic reduction of crime in the residential Streamwood area..... I've also noticed a strange amount of celebrity deaths in that same time frame. I posit that Kalapse is murdering them and somehow fooling the authorities into thinking it was natural causes.
  16. Never hunted, and I don't think I ever will. But, I had venison once, and it was delicious.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) We're in the minority. I don't give a s*** about college sports. Nobody understands it, I've stopped bothering to explain. Same here.
  18. If Getz could turn into a leadoff hitter, that'd be just perfect. It would solve a lot of problems going forward.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 12:47 PM) Fob = Forward Operating Base.. I dont know any seals, but ive met tons ot Army Rangers, and Special Forces types.. Even a couple of Delta boys when i was in kuwait. The training is definitely not easy. if youre going to seriously pursue it, first off you have to make sure ur in amazing shape, make sure u can run like the wind and do pushups and situps for days. Also make sure u can read a map like its nothing and that youre not scared of heights. basically everyone told me the same thing, dring the training there will be days where you will absolutely just want to tap out but the ones that make it through are the ones that just plain refuse to quit.. i know it sounds simple but the crap they put you through in the training is quite unlike anything ull ever experience ever again. Oh, I had absolutely no intention of trying to join. Haha, the idea of me even making it through a day of that training is hilarious. I just wondered if anyone here had personal experience with it.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) Walk around CiCi's Pizza's parking lot; you find one there with their logo on it, you get free food. I have no clue where any of those are.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) Urine is sterile guys, not really a big deal. Really. Get your piss-money. I had a nice laugh at this. Good job.
  22. QUOTE (vandy125 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Shouldn't there be an option for the superstitious who only pick it up when Lincoln is facing up? I usually just leave em. That's me. When it comes to change, I keep all of my quarters in my car's ashtray and I give all of the pennies, nickels, and dimes to my siblings for their change jars.
  23. I just bought a trimmer. It was about 15 bucks, and I use it once a week for about 30 seconds.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) Am I the only one that really really wanted to make a joke about how I wished it was me hitting her with a ball etc.? No, I just couldn't think of a funny way to phrase it.
