  1. Eh, I'm starting to think this guy will never be healthy enough to be a dependable regular.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) The Hangover was the FUNNIEST movie I have ever seen. No questions asked. Absolutely hilarious. I know movie taste is somewhat subjective, but this is a pretty ridiculous statement. I really liked this movie and all, but I can't even see there being an argument for funniest movie ever.
  3. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:54 PM) I recently finished the mini-series Band of Brothers and it was phenomenal. I know it's not a movie and this is a movie thread, but I figure a mini-series is close enough, so I thought I'd mention it. Definitely a very cool look at the march to Berlin from the paratrooper perspective, whereas most accounts I've seen/read are from guys that landed on the beaches on D-Day and went from there. Bastogne was hell. And it's definitely sad when you see how many of the original guys that trained at Camp Toccoa ended up dying or wounded pretty badly, but the series as a whole was great. Can't believe I waited so long to finally watch it. Strange that you should mention this. I just finished the series a week ago. It was definitely awesome, and had some great characters. I guess my favorite character had to be Speirs, but close in second were Winters, Lipton, and Guarnere.
  4. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) For someone who was supposed to be away for a few months filming a movie, he sure has been on TV a lot. IIRC, the whole bad back angle was supposed to lead him off tv so he could make his bad WWE produced movie Does not compute.
  5. But if we find out he's been murdered by crystal meth tweakers...then we're s*** out of luck.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) Let me add one more positive review of The Hangover - I laughed A LOT. Zach Galifinakis and Ed Helms were especially great, and Heather Graham didn't have enough lines to f*** it up. Highly recommended!! I agree completely with what you said, plus they showed Heather Graham's tit. Also, I'm definitely pumped for the new Harry Potter. Why would one's man card be on the line for that?
  7. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:06 AM) Jeepers Creepers is a pretty decent horror flick. The best part is there is no origin for the Creeper, it just comes out of nowhere. The second movie isnt that bad either Agreed. It was one of the better horror movies in recent memory.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) We should call him Bustham. I vote for Becksham.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:33 AM) So Gordon Beckham gets called up on my birthday. Nice! Very excited about this. I do have some reservations, just because it isnt often players come up and produce so soon after getting drafted. Can't remember how excited I was for someone's debut before. Happy birthday.
  10. I've just noticed this thread, so I'm not going to read through the whole thing. Let me just say, I think we might be rushing him.
  11. I really hope this isn't like years past, where we struggle to get to .500, but can never get over the hump. Also, how long is Quentin out for?
  12. I just got done watching Stranger Than Fiction. I really liked it, and was extremely surprised at how good Will Ferrell was in it.
  13. I enjoyed it, but it could've been better. I'm sure it'll continue to get better. I wonder if Andy will be standing over in the corner for good, or if he's going to be on the couch again. Also, it really came off to me that Ferrell upstaged Conan. It's the guy's first show, give him the spotlight.
  14. I just watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I really liked it.
  15. Whoa, hold on. I just noticed the name change on this. Oswalt was ALSO traded here and declined it?
  16. Couldn't he just refuse to pay it, and then never return to the Dominican?
  17. I'm glad so many people here appreciate King of the Hill. That was a great show, and yes, awesome characters.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 27, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) Thank you. Any of those Episodes 1-3 were utter garbage. Writing, story, acting, visual effects, almost everything was a disaster. I spent most of my time during the first one (which I waited in a long line to see) alternately laughing and feeling depressed. I can count on one hand the number of things that actually worked in those three: --The light sabre fights involving Darth Maul, particularly the one with the weird red laser doors or whatever, were spectacularly done. --The music was decent, though pretty typical John Williams fare. --Liam Neeson and Ewen McGregor were both very good casting choices. --Natalie Portman is pleasant to look at. Other than that, I cannot think of another redeeming quality in those films. Some parts, like the obviously Jamaican Jar Jar (shiver) and the obviously Arab shopkeeper and the obviously Japanese Trade Federation goons were borderline racist. I was going to be upset if that wasn't one of your redeeming factors.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) Bon anniversaire! That reminds me of the Family Guy skit with Zinedine Zidane. Thanks, everyone.
  20. As someone (I think it was Flash) said in the chat last night, God really took a dump on the world on this date.
  21. He definitely battled, but it doesn't surprise me. He's as much a "pitcher" as any veteran in the league.
