  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) See Sig. I hate you.
  2. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:34 PM) Something to the effect of "Ozzie likes to call them piranhas but when they get on base I call em shi* heads cause the do everything out there right" Yeah, more praise for the Twins. Just what our team needs to hear from another one of our team leaders.
  3. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) This is a good season for this team for 4 reasons -- Danks, Floyd, Quentin and Ramirez. Two excellent starting pitchers and two dynamic position players, all under the age of 27. And everyone else is getting older and worse, or will be out the door next season. We should have rebuilt, but somehow lucked out with the other competitors having fluke bad seasons. We'll go into next year after "re-tooling" with garbage additions, we'll fail to win the division again, and we'll be behind the curve as we should've started the reuilding process years before it.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:16 PM) Fixed for you, as there's no way this can be considered a terrible season for us. I disagree. We're just getting older and s***tier, and there's no way the other teams in the Central are going to fall apart in another fluke fashion next season. If we were going to go down to the very last game of the season to lose it, I'd rather have just done terrible the entire year. That way, we'd get a good draft pick and we'd turn to rebuilding (which we should).
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) I've seen too many seasons that weren't worth watching in September. Hell yes I'm watching. And I've seen too many Septembers where the Sox choke down the stretch against the Twins. Clockwork.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:02 PM) Shouldn't have though. the middle of the lineup, specifically Thome and Dye have had chance after chance after chance to do something, even just sac flies and have failed. Q was a big loss, but this team has had numerous chances with vetrans and have s*** themselves. I won't hang my hat on the Q loss We gave away so many games this year. And each time it happened, we were told it was just one game. It's biting us in the ass now, isn't it?
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) That one hurt more. I'd like to see Swisher or Anderson in CF and Griffey in RF tomorrow with Dye lower in the lineup. They are just going right after Dye and he isn't doing a f***ing thing. It would also be nice to have Dye on the bench for the later innings when they bring in a lefty. Oh Carlos Quentin, where art though right now? Not a f***ing chance. Ozzie clearly has a personal vendetta against him, and he'll ride it out for the remainder of the season, no matter how much it hurts his own team. f*** This Team
  8. I'll probably watch, although I'll be wanting to turn it off every second. Thankfully, I had the option of watching Sons Of Anarchy tonight and flipping back to the game to see it sadly end. I'm pretty sure I'll do the same tomorrow with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. This team is just asking to not be watched.
  9. Floyd has to win us the game tomorrow. He has to completely dominate the game because, if he doesn't, we lose this division. Our core guys should be absolutely ashamed of themselves (Dye). This is turning into a terrible, terrible year.
  10. Wow, can I suggest that we get rid of this thing immediately?
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) which is more important - offense or defense? ozzie's in a tight situation, you start griffey because he brings more offense than anderson. Anderson obviously brings better defense. It's a tough call, imo. No he doesn't. Griffey does NOTHING better than Anderson. Anderson could hit for a s***ty average, just like Griffey, but with more power.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) If you ignore hockey. What the f*** is that?
  13. QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) That was probably the funniest Spongebob episode. Disagreed. Although it is undoubtedly a great episode, I believe the cake goes to the episode where they start a band and play halftime at the Superbowl. EDIT: Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wQuQofwseI...feature=related

  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Wouldn't you be mad at someone for robbing a homer to prevent your team from making the playoffs? Hahahaha.
  16. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Buehrle has nuts, but he's not a guy who would flourish in the Dome -- puts it in play a lot, and on the ground. There are 2 guys on this staff who are good match for the Dome, if they're on -- one is Floyd and other was on target to start here until the manager and pitching coach juggled the rotation. He's now thrown 2 straight shutouts, he has sack, and he knows how to pitch. He's also not pitching, by design, in our biggest series of the year. John Danks. That needs to be addressed. We purposely changed our rotation so that arguably our best pitcher didn't face the Twins, and he was then made to pitch on short rest. That was a bad call, to say the least.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) They said on the radio today that he told KW he wanted to play RF, and not CF. KW said he would have to play CF, and Griffey agreed to it then. Wow. EDIT: I truly believe the Sox do not believe they can/will win a game this series, and aren't even fully trying.
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) Blame ozzie, not griffey, period. It's like getting mad at mackowiak before - not his fault he was put out there when he's not a cf. Griff only plays where and when ozzie says, if he was used properly, no one would hate him. Wasn't it said that Griffey only waived his NTC because he was guaranteed CF?
  19. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) To hell with Twins-ball! Wait is this for venting about OUR team? It's all-encompassing. Does anyone believe Griffey helps this team in any way?
  20. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Seriously. Just stop. I'm not sure the Twins will win out the rest of the year, but I can easily see them sweeping the Sox. This team has a history of choking to the Twins down the stretch.
  21. I wouldn't pull Javy. I'd leave him out there to die. This game is over, and he deserves every second of the embarrassment.
  22. I would like to say that it would make me incredibly happy for Javier Vazquez to never pitch another game in MLB (not just for the Sox, but for any team).
  23. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) F this team!!!! Well, I meant it to vent at specific players that are dogs, but it is a vent thread.
  24. To hell with Javier Vazquez and Griffey. Vazquez, you do not have balls. Griffey, you have nothing to offer to a professional baseball team.
  25. The Gourds.
