  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) the latter Didn't say something about the poster before him.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) I thought he had the millionth post. Was wrong.
  3. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) NO you are correct, its just we as a nation have become so PC we can't spreak the truth anymore. I have no problem with any ethnic background, I would make the same fuss if there was a Polish speaking show on the Score. Also I am planning to move to Germany.. so I am learning German, not expecting them to cater to me.. That is what Eupopeans hate about us.. Yet Latinos are expecting this now because they came here in droves. This is a touchy subject because most can't face the reality of the situation, it easy to throw around the racist label when they fail to understand the problem. Does Germany have an official language? You know what, the United States of America does not have an official language.
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) 1.) Crede will likely be going to arbitration and end up with a one-year deal. 2.) The Sox will probably keep trying to sign Contreras to a contract extension. If he won't sign, I guess they may try to trade him for pitching or just let him play out the year left on his current contract. Possibly trade him at the deadline but I don't see that being probable since we will more than likely be in contention for the division or Wild Card. 3.) Last guy(s) in the bullpen -- Jeff Bajenaru, Arnie Munoz, Tim Redding, Paulino Reynoso, Sean Tracey, or various other non-roster invitees. Yes, those are the most likely scenarios, but we'll have to wait and see.
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) that one pass was about as perfect as a pass can get, not his fault his reciever bobbled it. note: i'm not saying he's good, but he's not awful. Then he went right ahead and missed a wide open receiver on the next play. The thing that pissed me off was that none of the postgame guys would really criticize him. I guess his daddy knows them too well.
  6. There's still things the Sox have to figure out. What will happen with Crede? What will happen with Contreras? And to a lesser extent, who is going to be the last guy in the pen? Those questions should keep this place busy until they're figured out.
  7. Chris Simms sucks. He's completely living off of his dad's reputation. He had about 4 drives to score something in the last 8 minutes of the game in Redskins' territory, and he choked it up.
  8. Haha, nice pass, you spoiled rich kid.
  9. I hate Chris Simms. Long live Major Applewhite.
  10. I think I'm going with the Bucs, Panthers, Steelers, and Pats for the Wildcard weekend.

    I'm so sorry. He will stay in my prayers.
  12. Good to be the second-lowest team in payroll from the playoffs last year. Then of course, winning it all.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) But one's actually a good player and one's a bum. And I'm going with the Brewers to win the N.L. Central or Wild Card next season. They should dominate the division for years to come. Yeah, I'n not so sure about next year. It's definitely possible, though.
  14. Hmm, how often do you see news about two guys named Corey in the same day?
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) Well, pieced it together from his one article. The only assumption I made was the White Sox making the announcement by Friday (hasn't happen yet by any team) and I made that assumption because the next line was about how the White Sox are trying to not be overshadowed by the Cubs or the Bears. Do you actually go to Schaller's a lot like Jim is saying? It's a good place. I get lunch from there a lot during the Summer.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) I agree he could be totally in the loop or out of it or somewhere in between. Are you and fathom brothers, I'm just curious why you feel the need to defend him, he does a fine job of defending himself. We're a lot alike, clearly
  17. Who was involved in the Overbay deal earlier this offseason?
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Nope I'm presenting a contrary viewpoint to all the SoxTalk reactionaires who insist they're right about this guy. My personal feeling has nothing to do with it. Where do you stand? You were the Doubting Thomas all year long, I presume you don't believe anything unless it comes true and it's proven to you? You do realize that many, many things are discussed between agents, sportswriters, front office personnel, associates of front office personnel, etc.? I mean even where you go to school on the east coast I'm sure there are White Sox rumors that take place. Heck I have a friend here in the western suburbs who lives near a Chicago media sportscaster and sees him at parties. That guy hears all kinds of stuff but he doesn't publish it on mlbtraderumors.com . Does that make him a liar? To go a step further santo=dorf there are all kinds of things discussed at Schallers Pump on a Saturday nite, people who work with people and say things, my goodness, do you mean to tell me all those things are untrue? Or true? No, I think not. They are mostly rumors. They have some truth, and some level of opinion. I really don't have much of an opinion on this site. He could have great sources or he could be a BS artist. It just sounded like you got a little personal with fathom because of this. It really doesn't seem that important to me either way. There will be a trade or there won't be, and we'll see when it happens.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Guess what, you're wrong. Stick to the game threads. You seem to be taking this rather personally.
  20. It seems like the first guy doesn't like this trade, but I really do. The Cubs will have no pitching whatsoever. What does everyone else think?
  21. Wow, no pitching for the Cubs.
  22. It's not a "small" group of the population. Just stop now.
  23. My mom works at the CBOT. She said all the security was a pain in the ass, but Bush supposedly was extremely nice to everyone while signing a lot of autographs and talking to people's spouses on their cell phones.

    Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die. Well, I guess we might die because of our morbid obesity, but at least we'll go out happy. And that's the important thing.
