  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) i bet money this gets filibustered I looked for it there first, to be honest with you. I was kind of surprised nobody posted it
  4. Cleveland had an amazing offense, but their pitching wasnt quite what the White Sox had. Im not saying that they couldnt overtake them, but if it came down to pitching the Sox would of taken them, hands down.
  5. Crazy story developing. The suicide note is a long read but the guy had a rough go at it http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/02/18/texas.pla...dex.html?hpt=T1 Suicide Note PDF
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Do they really need other players to entice free agents? They have the money, the NY media, and the up-tempo coach. They could have a team full of Aaron Gray's, and they'd still be a contender for Free Agents. Why would LeBron want to go to NY with the crap they have. He is in the exact same situation, it would be a lateral move, and with Bosh it would be slightly better but they arent going to have tons of money to spend on other FAs because they are gonna be giving out two max contracts. Im not saying it wont happen, but if a player looks at both situations, the Bulls are a much better situation to step in and win tons of games and probably championships. The Knicks might eventually be there, but I think the Bulls stand a much better chance of competing for a title immediately.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Tyrus Thomas dealt to Bobcats for Acie Law, Flip Murray and conditional #1 pick. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-b...61805.storylink nuh uh
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:20 PM) Isn't Lee an unrestricted Free Agent this offseason? If so, even less of an incentive
  9. I dont see how any player could think playing in NY at this point would be better in the long run than going to Chicago at this point. Play with Lee, Chandler, and Gallinari, or play with Rose, Noah, Taj, Deng. Rose alone tips the scales if you ask me, and it isnt as if Chicago is a ghost town when it comes to supporting the team, if any of the big 3 come to Chicago we are talking a rocking United Center all the time.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) And you know this how? Every expert in the world has no idea whose going where so I find it hard pressed that you know exactly what is going to happen. a GT insider said that too
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) So you aren't willing to spend 4-5 million on a high OBP guy (which we lack), but are willing to waste a 100 million dollar roster with the best pitching staff on paper since 06 just so you can spend all of the pieces of our future for a rental player at the deadline. AGon wouldnt be a rental
  12. Think Tyrus goes scorched earth on the way out?
  13. QUOTE (WCSox @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) Especially when my team is already teetering on a $100M payroll and I committed $100M to Peavy and Rios just 6 months ago? We don't have the luxury of having a stud at every position. If we have to skimp on DH for the time being, so be it. If this team shows some spark and looks like it can compete it June, I'll consider trading for a high-impact player like Crawford or Adrian Gonzalez. Until then, I don't see a reason to over-pay for declining talent to go 79-83 again." Amen
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) Either Kenny's being confident about the press conference on Sunday where we announce the deal...or we ended up swinging and missing on this. i am also going out on a limb and saying we either sign him, or we dont sign him
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 09:42 AM) well i havent heard that damon is in the best shape of his life, thats for sure! his wife is, though. And that counts for something
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 09:05 AM) Hypothetically, if Hinrich were moved and the Bulls did not take back any contracts that extend into next season, that would leave the Bulls with 5 players under contract for next year and a Q.O. on Thomas unless he's also dealt. The total salary commit for the Bulls next year would be 22.86 million. If the Cap winds up at $56 million and the Bulls have no draft holds, they could afford to offer 2 max deals to FA's. If the cap is lower, the Bulls could offer 1 Max deal and then one deal somewhere above the MLE up to about $10 million depending on the number of draft holds, or they could use that extra space in a large sign and trade deal. They could also do a sign and trade with any of the players(hinrich, deng, etc) to clear up room in the offseason
  17. Please pargo go with. please please please
  18. found this on the bottom of the Kevin Martin trade link
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 07:34 AM) About two years later. Turns out she didn't cheat on me at all. Her former best friend is the one who told me that nothing happened while we were dating. They were best friends at the time of the break up and hated each other when she told me that nothing happened, so I believe her. So who fed you the lie that made you go all Angry Ex-Boyfriend?
  20. Heyman was on Mully and Hanley this morning and said he still slightly favored Detroit because of the money
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 01:31 AM) Johnny is a grinder and a gamer, but he like Pierre can't throw the baseball. I still wouldn't mind acquiring him, but if we do I hope we dump Pierre. You think they would just eat that contract? Not gonna happen. Pierre is going to play a lot this year, Damon or no Damon
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) My story has a more interesting ending. I was informed (as it turns out, incorrectly) that my ex-girlfriend fooled around on me while we were dating with the guy she started seeing after we broke up. This was back in Junior year of college. I ended up beating up some kid that really did nothing wrong. It was fun and it sure made me feel better, though. So you beat up the guy because you thought he was the one your ex girl was cheating on you with, then found out that was wrong and he just happened to be dating her afterwards? How long afterwards did you find out that you beat up a guy for no reason?
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached agreement on a six-player, three-team trade that lands them former All-Star forward Antawn Jamison(notes), league sources with knowledge of the talks told Yahoo! Sports. The Cavaliers are sending center Zydrunas Ilgauskas(notes) and a first-round pick to the Wizards. The Wizards also will receive Brian Skinner(notes) and Al Thornton(notes) from the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cavaliers will get point guard Sebastian Telfair(notes) from the Clippers. The Wizards will send Drew Gooden(notes) to the Clippers. Wait, so Clevelands gets Jamison(Wiz) and Telfair(Clips), The Wizards get Skinner(Clips), Ilgauskas(Cavs), Thornton(Clips) AND a 1st round pick(Cavs), and The Clippers get Drew Gooden and thats it?
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) Gotta love the Celtics getting Nate Robinson. One of the most unlikeable teams ever adds another piece of s***. yeah, but they traded away a piece of s***, so it evens out
  25. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Not matter where Damon lands, I LOL with Boras and how well he does his job for his clients. I bet both Damon and Boras are LOL-ing about the 2 year 14 mil they turned down from NYY
