QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) He is the owner of the company or whatever. He's not a spokesperson. Isnt he owner AND spokesperson?

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) If you surround Steve with some experienced assistants then maybe he should.... I'm only half joking about this. Since it's basically what the VDN situation is. BTW, this team looks like it wants no part of the playoffs right now. They only really look like they want it when they are at home. Although they showed some spunk in Toronto taking it to OT, but they shouldnt be having this many problems with Indiana.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) It sounds like some plot line to an Unsolved Mysteries episode. After everything unfolded you should have talked to the police about your experience. They probably would have said someone matching that description died several hours before you supposedly met them. It's at that moment a picture is shown of the person you saw, dead, and your wide-eyed expression would have just blankly look off into the area he disappeared as the theme music plays....... .....and Robert Stack walks into the picture telling the sordid tale

Thornton swinging away in the 3 hole? Awesome

If you can ever sit through Hamp and Holmes for a little while, you should count how many times Hampton says "uuuuuuh". He says it pre-thought, mid-thought, and post thought.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) Good catch. That didn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense. Obviously I was talking about Dan Hampton. I only heard the first 15 minutes of their show today but Holmes had some good things to say about the sox (mostly speaking of the disappointment in hearing Dewyane Wise named the leadoff hitter), luckily Hampton didn't say a word, I called it a win and got out of the car. I wouldnt be surprised if Dan didnt accidentally call himself Mike. Hampton is just awful

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) Rose is definitely bad on defense, but EVERYBODY on this team is bad on defense, so that's no excuse to keep him out late in the game. This team simply does not try or care on defense, which to me is a serious indictment of the coach. I dont know that I could hang lack of defense completely on the coach. While under Skiles, the Bulls went from one of the best defensive teams to one of the worst, with almost the exact same cast. If players dont want to play D, they wont in the NBA, and there isnt anything the coach can do about it

Time for someone to post the nancy kerrigan video of her screaming "Why?!?!? Why Me?!?!!?"

Bartolo Colon's fat f***ing ass is no longer MLB quality...

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) Looks like it is going to be a fun year around here. Excuse me while I shuffle over to the general baseball section and post why Prince Fielder should be released. The Sox should have just signed John Smoltz and been done with it. He is a tremendous athlete, great hockey player, even better golfer. As far as fielding bunts....well short of the uber athletic Greg Maddux, there was none better. Wasnt Glavine the hockey player? -
I like the high sock look too. But i think it is completely irrelevant to what an umpire uses to judge the strikezone

Kyyle23 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 08:51 AM) So has anyone said if Colon was actually "pitching" yesterday? Was he featuring all of his pitches or just working on one? Was he throwing his fastball in the 90's or in the 80's? Was he using his out pitches? why is this relevant? Colon is fat, and therefore, bad. try and keep up -
QUOTE (qwerty @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 08:28 AM) I predict greg775 and elrockinMT gloat about how foolish the sox were for ''letting'' crede go when he gets his first hit for the twins. I know the saying is there is no such thing as a sure bet... but... why dont you predict that the sun will rise tomorrow.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 07:44 AM) I was truly trying to hold back, but you made me. The heaviest cy young winner in history... by a decent margain too.. Only the second fastest in major league baseball history to record 100 saves (187 games) to kaz sasaki (160 games). There are fat pitchers that suck just like there are skinny pitchers that suck. David Wells made quite a career out of being fat as well(minus his time with the Sox of course). -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) These fat pitchers are a joke. They should be forced to get in shape before they step on a big league mound. I wonder if they'll bunt him out of the league like they did poor Wilbur Wood. Yeah, CC Sabathia is a joke -
Did he dress like he just walked out of the Blue Oyster and have 80's sunglasses and an awesome mullet?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) It means his mental state is affecting his pitching performance. I don’t think this is exactly like Greinke: Zach was just horribly depressed, and had to change his pitching/life style to cope, Willis has just let his poor performance shake his confidence to the core. He just took time away from the game to get his head straight. He was so young when he got to the majors, and it really wore on him to be losing as much as he the royals have lost while he has been there. he didnt change anything about his pitching

I dont want VDN fired. I thought he was close to getting fired a few months ago, but I dont and did not want him fired. Im glad there was a reason that Salmons wasnt playing, but the reason I said what I said was because there have been times this season when certain players(Rose, Gordon, Deng) have sat for long periods during games where their scoring and floor presence was required at that certain time. Those times have certainly started to disappear, and VDN is starting to put together a normal rotation which is really nice to see.

Dewayne Wise Named Full-time Starting CF/Leadoff hitter
Kyyle23 replied to Kalapse's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) So Rowand wasn't decent? And before Pods, the last one I can THINK of was maybe Tim Raines. Other than that I can't think of a single person. Raines was the left fielder while with the Sox, Lance Johnson was always the CF. Mike Cameron, Aaron Rowand, Singleton had a nice year(one year), I think Dave Martinez was the CF for a while, Kenny Lofton was here for a minute. there have been good CFers that passed through, and players who had a good year in center for the Sox. Its just a glaring need right now -
Dewayne Wise Named Full-time Starting CF/Leadoff hitter
Kyyle23 replied to Kalapse's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) I put the over/under for that at around 2 months. i give it May 15th. If Wise hits the way we all know he will, ozzie will get him out of there just like he did Swisher, but Wise wont get as much leeway as Swisher did because he doesnt have the respect that Swisher HAD at the time he was named leadoff CF. I think BA comes in more and more late in April and ends up being the 9 hitter while Getz leads off. JMO -
