QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) Baker has a 6.85 ERA in 6 starts; Liriano has a 5.18 ERA in 7 starts; Blackburn has only pitched 9 innings as he's struggling to recover from off-season knee surgery... which could result in Humber replacing him in the rotation; Humber has a 4.91 ERA this spring. So... what's the scary part? The Scary part for me is that they are the Twins. Nothing seems to phase them, even in down years.

Zumaya and Willis once again on the DL

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) Doctor Cockroach was brilliant -- right down to the pencil-thin Vincent Price mustache!! And the shot of Bob oozing out the double doors was right out of the original The Blob as well. Arrested Development fans should all get a kick out of Gob (as Link) doing the "Ca-CAW! Ca-CAWW!!" chicken call too. Kiefer Sutherland said he modeled General Monger's voice on a combination of the Full Metal Jacket drill sergeant and Yosemite Sam - and listening to the voice I think that was a pretty good assessment. Is that how they spell it on Arrested Development? I never looked at it, i figured it was spelled Jobe edit: NM, wikipedia explains all lol

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 09:15 AM) Monsters Vs. Aliens was top notch. great story, great animation, good 3D. And a lot like Pixar's Incredibles, lots of raised eyebrow nods to the various homages it hails from. The thrown giant syringe, ala' Amazing Colossal Man. . . Insectasaurus going through a Mothra-inspired metamorphosis . . Missing Link having a thing for co-ed bathing beauties the way Universal's Creature seemed to. . . Great stuff. Yeah, an incredible homage to the old school horror movies. The only one you left out was the Fly/Cockroach scientist, And I thought Hugh Laurie was the perfect voice for that character, as well as Kiefer Sutherland being a great voice for the Warden/General.

Billy and Trent Reznor are cut from the same cloth. Those guys both want to control every little aspect of their music, and inevitably drive away the original band and end up touring with paid stand-ins.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 08:55 AM) Monsters vs Aliens is from Dreamworks. Damn you got me. And I knew it when I was typing it. Too early, not enough coffee yet. Still, Dreamworks provides some pretty good stuff as well. Not Pixar/Disney, but Shrek is nothing to shake a stick at

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 08:27 AM) Anyone here ever had an evening where they flip back and forth between a couple movies on the TV, depending on the commercials? The other night, I was flipping between 40 Year Old Virgin and Red Dragon. Hadn't thought about how weird that pairing was until about the 4th flip, then it became entertaining to just flip back and forth at random moments. LOL, yes. Last night I was watching "Monster Fish of the Mekong River" and "Jumper" at the same time. Not so strangely enough, Giant River Stingrays and Catfish come across as better actors than Hayden Christiansen.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) I finally saw Raw with Stephanie and I don't know what you guys are talking about when you're saying she looks better than ever. She looks too skinny to me. She looked best when she was GM of Smackdown. She lost all of her pregnancy weight, she looks fantastic. We dont know what you are talking about with this too skinny nonsense

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 01:36 AM) Monsters versus Aliens was surprisingly very, very good. Why is it surprising? Disney is usually pretty good at delivering quality theater movies. It is their second generation DVD stuff that is straight up crap

Im calling shenanigans. I had a veiled chameleon that looked exactly like this guy, and he had nowhere NEAR the color changing ability they are showing on this chameleon. I think this is just a cool photoshop job

QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 09:54 AM) Did the Shamwow work on the blood??? I almost bought some Shamwow's yesterday...but then I got my s*** together and walked away. I got them for both my mom and dad for christmas as a side gift, and they both love them. My stepdad in particular uses them to clean up everything, wash the car, etc

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 08:48 AM) Going this afternoon after the kids are done with softball and football. Really looking forward to it. From the trailers, it looks like the most Pixar-like of Dreamworks films yet. I had to do a doubletake when I first saw the ad during the Super Bowl because it looked like Pixar was releasing two films this season. Are you going to see it in Imax 3D? I hadnt seen a 3D movie since I saw Captain Eo in disneyworld when i was a kid, I forgot how fun it is. People were "Oooing" and "Ahing" the entire time

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) I think he's also referring to Rose missing FT's during last year's championship game. He actually was a pretty mediocre FT shooter for a guard prior to this year. I don't see the Bobcats hopping the Pistons, but it very well could happen with the way they're playing now. As far as Mike North, I don't like him, but giving VDN an extension might be bad. There's a discussion on the Bulls forum at RealGM, but basically, lemme post what sums up my feelings on it. And that was from someone who wants VDN fired. They do need to develop defensively, but offensively, I think you're only seeing the beginning for a reason I posted: Also keep in mind, VDN was hired rather late and had to deal with Joakim coming into camp out of shape, and Larry Hughes, our guard glut in general, and Deng sucking amongst all of our injuries. I have really been open and optimistic about VDN as much as possible this year. I understand that he probably has had some big playbook growing pains in his time here, but there have been some insane gaps of concentration on his part with his gameday coaching and preparing the team for certain events(defenses, offensive looks, etc). Strange as it may seem, I think the fact that he is a rookie head coach has cut him way more slack than a seasoned veteran coach would get. If any other veteran coach had made some of the decisions he has made, I think he would have been canned by now.

QUOTE (hawkubes @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 07:56 AM) "In that case, that guy deserved a stolen base, too, and it was taken away from him. Toby went nuts when it was changed, and I said, 'Toby, I was fighting for both of us. I wanted the right call.' Although not the greatest player, I don't ever recall anyone ever having a problem with Toby Hall's character. In fact he seemed to be a great clubhouse guy (being the "pie-man" and all"). If Toby went nuts, my guess is it was for good reason. How can Cabrera claim that he was fighting for both of them on that ruling. Let's just pretend they don't give anyone an error and call it a stolen base, What does that do for Toby Hall's percentage of throwing out basestealers. An unselfish gold glove caliber player wouldn't have even realized he was given an error, let alone whine about it afterward. Because he wanted no error assigned, a stolen base given to the runner instead of an error assigned. Thats pretty much fighting for the both of them to not get an error.

I saw Monsters vs Aliens in Imax 3D today, it was awesome. The movie, and the 3D nature of the film.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Oh dear lord, tell me we won't have to deal with these type of posts all year. There's not a 3rd baseman in the history of baseball who could have fielded that. Oh we will. And every Crede accomplishment will be screamed.

I dont know what the first guy said, but it obviously was inflammatory to those who are insane

It looks like Vince is trying to re-ignite the Monday Night Wars. I dont blame him, that was a huge moment for both WCW and WWE(F).

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 08:54 AM) It was hilarious... last night on Baseball Tonight they featured this kid. They said he was can't miss, best prospect ever, blah blah. Then they compared him to other amazing college pitchers. Todd Van Poppel Mark Prior some other doofus I'm over the hype. The kid is sick, but he probably won't last 5 years in the Majors. "Hey kid, you are gonna be just as good as two flameout pitchers who had a ton of injury problems" Man, if I was Strasburg I would be PISSED at these comparisons. -
