  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) As I recall, a hijacker did this once in the US. Hijacked a cargo jet or something, got some money somehow (at a stop maybe), and then later parachuted out of the plane. And wasn't ever found. DB Cooper. They dont think he survived due to the altitude he jumped from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper
  2. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/01/12/florida.p...rash/index.html Im guessing this story is going to get stranger as it comes out
  3. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Because you stated they were much better than either West team, but yet, those teams clinched their division, and you gave them(ARI) crap for losing down the stretch. You know a lot of teams are more concentrated on being healthy down the stretch once they clinched. And for SD, yea, their division was down, but it was still better than the NFC Bore as evident by both West teams advancing at least into the second round of the playoffs. Arizona wasnt benching starters down the stretch, they were getting thrashed and looked bad while doing it, and their starters were all in. I applaud them for finding their early-season form, but they looked really bad at the end of the season
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 09:06 AM) Has anyone tried to hack their Wii? I guess you can bust into it with a glitch in the Zelda game and then put any game on it (such as the above arcade games, or any emulators, s*** like that) Just curious if it messes with your system in a bad way. My neighbor did it, he said its no big deal
  5. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) An injury to his achilles shouldn't change anything as long as he regains the flexibility and there isn't any reason he shouldn't. I've had many patients come back from this injury and do fine. This includes patients in baseball, football, rugby players, triathletes and marathon runners. The only reason his career would be over is that he was declining before the injury. Please remember you are arguing with Bearsox PHD. Your experience in the field is irrelevant
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 07:06 PM) Picking all home teams in the second round is lazy, hence I laugh this week when every home team lost. except pittsburgh
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) I don't know what dry-socket is? http://www.animated-teeth.com/tooth_extrac...ons_post-op.htm basically you ate and food got in the tooth hole, causing inflammation and infection
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) I'm to assume San Diego is going to win, correct? LOL, I hope that WSB wasnt a betting man this year.

    My computer

The best thing you can do in situations like this is dump an entire glass of distilled water in the computer through the fan. It works like a charm
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Wait... Jas, we get PAID? 1/11/2009: The day the Soxtalk Mod Union was formed
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Yeah this is totally has me feeling like this is the "you are in the starting lineup cause your dad is the coach" situation. I hope you can score
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) Ya, everyone pretty much said two weeks and your better. It hasn't even been a weak and I've eaten things like broccoli. Still I've been taking it relatively easy and having mostly noodle based dishes. Is it dry socket that everyone warns you about? I had a small case of that, it sucks really bad. I just got a small travel bottle of listerine and kept it in my school locker(I got this done my junior year in HS), and gargled after meals and if I chewed gum etc...
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Oh how I wish my mouth could handle chewing on something like beef jerky. I hated this stuff as a kid but have acquired a taste to most of it. Your mouth should heal pretty fast, you will be snappin into a slim jim (oh yeaaah) within a week
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) Who is in both of your avatars? Nick Evans, a redshirt freshman on the Salukis. Rowand44 has the same avatar, its our "Rally Evans" avatar
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) Can you trade a recently signed free agent? Isnt there a couple month period of time where you cannot trade a recently signed FA? Or maybe after the conclusion of ST?
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 08:24 AM) I dont know how anyone can rave about beef jerky. Its literally doggy snacks. ha, you know what doggy snacks taste like
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) If Garcia makes the team, I'll give you a cookie. You can have it. As long as you talk less
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) Also, for the future... The Facebook page will be your best source of information in the case of catestrophic Gage-ing of Soxtalk. With the set up, we can even have baseball discussions if stuff comes up during the downtime. Please have patients. Please
  19. I guess its a busy time of the year, this came today You guys wouldnt believe how many relatives I have in Africa. It is truly amazing. Here I was thinking I was of Irish descent, now I am finding out that all my rich uncles resided in various countries in Africa.

    Films Thread

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 10, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Since Soxtalk went down, I think I've seen two movies. Valkyrie was pretty good, and it had a really great cast. I really like Eddie Izzard in serious roles (I enjoyed The Riches). Bill Nighy was damn good, and that bald actor impressed me, too. Tom Wilkinson did a very good job, as usual. I really want to see that man win an Oscar some day. Gran Torino was entertaining as hell. Clint Eastwood was great in it, and it had some awesome lines. Are you gonna avoid commenting on Cruise?
  22. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) ugh....... yeah, this is just a waste of my time. Garcia is done as a pitcher, I'd be shocked if he stays healthy for spring training. speak for yourself, and read the posts that make the most of your time
  23. I wouldnt be surprised in the least. And if he can get over his shoulder issues, I would be very satisfied with somethign like this
