  1. I think these guys may lay the groundwork for future Indian prospects, but I highly doubt either of these two kids make an impact with any team that throws a contract at them, purely based on their complete lack of knowledge of the game of baseball. Its one thing to refine raw skills of an athlete who actually knows the game of baseball, its a completely different story when you are talking about teaching the game of baseball as well as refining the raw skills.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) Well, it's not actually a race. Judaism is a religion. It seems to cross both boundaries, but if you want to split hairs......
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 10:46 AM) It clearly must have been a whore. LOL, im thinking of the Tom and Jerry Episode where Tom is trying to impress the indoor cat by playing the bass "Is you is, is you aint my baby"
  4. I love my dogs like they are kids, but I can admit that cats have a certain quality that makes them fun to have around. Especially younger cats, they do some of the most hilarious things out of nowhere
  5. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 05:16 AM) What if he still gave Jerry the f***in' ball? "Jerry, I saved this f***in' thing for you, asshole. You god damned cheap Jew. Konerko rules!" Next day: 5 years, $60 million Yeah, that racist comment is less than funny or appropriate
  6. Supposedly the Padres are looking for a ML pitcher, reliever, and prospects in the deal.
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) Please stop with the bickering and name calling guys. Do you think Brandon Marshall and Anquan Boldin will be offended at being labeled freaks of nature?
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) I do agree with you on this one, fiery conjecture is much more valuable than an opinion based in statistics and reason. LMAO
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 09:43 AM) I would very much like to see this done. I am hoping someone can find some scouting reports or videos of him. Where's cubano (that's his name, right?) when we need him? Cubano was on this a while ago http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...68203&st=15 Post #21, Caulfield breaks it down And Cubano brought it up before that as well http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...t=0&start=0
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) It doesn't take a baseball expert to see that Richard quite simply does not have the stuff to make it as more then a very mediocre-bad starting pitcher. How is Mike MacDougal doing with all of that "great stuff" that you bragged about all the time? I will leave the player evaluation to the teams and their personnel, not the kids with a keyboard who think they know what a "baseball expert" would say
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) Oh please. When will people like you realize Richard is a pretty terrible starter? He might make it as a reliever because he won't have to face the lineup more than once, but quite simply, he doesn't have the stuff to make it as a starter. Also, it isn't that tough for anyone to out preform Vazquez with the way Vazquez pitched down the stretch. Oh Please, When will people like you stop making predictions as if you know everything?
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) Javy might not do much in pressure games, but at least he helps us get to the point where we can actually be in the playoffs. Could imagine where we would have been this past season with Javy and either Broadway or Richard in his place? I guarantee we would not have made the playoffs if that was the case. Dont guarantee anything. Richard outperformed Javy heads and tails down the stretch. Especially when he relieved him in game 1
  13. Can you imagine the reaction Javy would get from Boston fans if he had the same final month in a Red Sox uniform?
  14. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) What is that DS game hawkaroo talks about 100 times a season? Flash Focus I think. AJ played it alot over last offseason, its supposed to improve hand eye coordination, rapid identification, etc.
  15. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) if one of the sox needs wasnt 2b then I can say ya. But that is toyally referring to yankees putting him in cf. Also, yankees are eying mr swisher as well link?
  16. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) I personally don't like the catch all type threads. If I only have a minute at work, it is nice to just be able to scan the thread titles for something that interests me. To me, the catch alls become to large and cumbersome. I like the thought of Kelly Johnson playing 2B. And I personally dont like seeing every idea thought of get its own thread. The important stuff always gets its own thread no matter what, why crowd the regular forum with "Hey, I like this guy, discuss" when you can put that in a Off-Season Catch-all?
  17. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Didn't they do it with Womack as well? And they have moved Damon all over the outfield, and moved Knoblauch to the outfield(for good reason of course), im sure there are other players as well The Yankees just spend money and force the puzzle together whatever way they deem fit
  18. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) He has had 10 SBs as a career high, so I while he may have solid range at second base, I am not sure he quite the gazelle out in CF that many teams want like Sizemore and such. Though, putting up a .800 OPS in CF at less than $10 million per season would be a good contract number. I just don't understand messing with a guy who is already at the top of his game at 2b. Yanks did it with Arod, I dont think they would have any reservations about doing it with Hudson
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) You're going to be waiting a while... If we made a Trade Winds, PHT would be empty. There really is no need for it. just a catch-all, thats all I ask. Nothing too complicated.....
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Brad Penny was mentioned in the other section. I'd rather take a risk on fixing Penny than one year of Wakefield at US Cellular. Who is going to fix Penny's shoulder? Coop?
  21. QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) I would be shocked if anyone claims Hall off waivers There is a clause in his contract that if he gets injured this season under that contract he gets like $16 million guaranteed Hell prolly pass through and just become a full FA Is he on waivers? I thought he was just cut outright
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) I am aware of that, I said all year that watching him play LF made me hope that he was just having trouble adjusting after spending years playing RF because he really didn't look good in the field this year. maybe i misinterpreted your comment, I took it as you saying that it was a myth that he could play RF
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) One of the great myths on this site is that Q is a good defender and capable of playing right field. Until this year, he played RF exclusively
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) I do not believe Zach Braff will run for President. touche'
