  1. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Kenny probably could have boosted Owens' value simply by saying, "We think Jerry Owens can be a serviceable 4th outfielder in the Major Leagues." Right, telling everyone he would be a serviceable bench player is better than telling everyone he could start
  2. Greg Smith is rumored to be part of the package going to the Rox
  3. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) Hendry's MO is to sweep in where this is financial trouble. I imagine right now he's at Circuit City trying to buy a bunch of flatscreen tv's for the players' locker room to try and trick the fans in thinking Mark Cuban bought the team. And with the owner of the Padres having to give half of everything to his wife in a divorce settlement, the Padres are definitely seeing some financial trouble right now.
  4. QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) Strong rumors say that Christian will return to WWE after all. He had originally decided to stay with TNA, but apparently had second thoughts due to the difference in pay. It'll be good to see him back with The E, and TNA will miss his charisma and mic skills badly. Christian could add a good changeup in the mix. He never got a fair push in WWE, but he never left the company on bad terms, hopefully they set up a good program for him
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) Thanks Trib. Also the players they are offering are pretty much crap that cant even play for the Cubs, but they are the "favorites". And they have chased Roberts before and didnt have enough and traded away their best pitching chip in Gallagher, yet they have a chance again? Who is pumping cubbie koolaid into the water system? The trib company loves the koolaid!
  6. Anyone see Charles Gordons ankle go the wrong way in the Vikings-Packers game? NSFWS (Not Safe for Weak Stomachs)
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) Jusy to clarify so I dont look like a weirdo,I deleted the trouble posts and then I posted for those posters to stop which they did. But to answer your question kyyle their feelings might be hurt so stop calling them freaks. LOL, I thought the posts seemed a little on the non-namecalling side.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) It's hard for the secondary not to suck when the D-line completely disappears except for Alex Brown. Babich seems to get eaten alive on 3rd down everytime. He has no creativity, the pressure never gets there, and veteran QBs tear them apart. The DBs arent absolved of all blame, but the front four doesnt get much pressure, and hasnt for about 4 consecutive games now.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) Is this supposed to say "on fire"? Just curious. LOL, I was gonna say something, then I thought "naaaaaaaah"
  10. QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Hey whitesoxbrian, what are your thoughts on those last place Bills? AFC Championship game BABY!!!!!!!
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) From what I read one of them only throws mid 80's so he definitely sounds like a non-prospect. But from the article the other one hit 90 and showed some breaking stuff as well, although mostly fastballs. Yeah, I know they both have a little promise and pretty good arms. I just dont know that I would want to go through the motions of explaining all of the little intricacies of the game(like what a short stop is) to a player, as well as teaching mechanics and pitch selection, it seems like too much for them at this point in their lives. Think about someone in the US who has never played any organized baseball in his life, yet has been able to watch the game on TV for his entire life. Say he showed up at some draft camp on a whim, and showed the same promise that these two kids have shown. Do you think that he would end up in the majors? The possibility is extremely slim, even with a small background in watching the game. Think about how everyone labeled Josh Hamilton a complete freak of nature because he was able to be away from the game for 3 years and come back and be the player that he is. Now if you apply that to these two guys, who up until recently never have even watched the game, and now are trying to play it. I just dont see much hope for them doing anything, but like I said, this could lay the groundwork for something in the future. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) Well, theoretically, it would make as much sense to look at some of the best Chinese ping pong and badminton players. Which isnt much sense at all.
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) Already did a while back . Did you tell that to the 6 other teams interested in Baldelli ? That's why I wasn't originally interested but he didn't lose the disease when he hit 2 HR's in the WS and scored from 1st base on a long single against the White Sox in the playoffs. He's still a better hitter and fielder with the disease than Wise and probably Anderson. The guy cannot play consistently. The Rays subbed him in and out for the whole series. I could honestly care less about other teams being interested in him, it doesnt change the fact that he is now a part time player because of his disease. Let someone else pay him to be a sub
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) I didn't think Baldelli was worth it either til I saw how he did in the against the Sox and in WS. He's still fast and a good fielder He's a free agent and probably won't get more than $1-2 mil a year. To dismiss Hillebrand as a cancer would be rash. Couldn't hurt to give him a tryout if we're looking at Fields to open ST. The article says their are 6 other teams interested in Rocco so if they're satisfied that he can play back up OF why wouldnt the Sox. Speed, power and defense off the bench for cheap. Do a google search of Rocco Baldelli + Mitochondrial Disorder. Then look at the symptoms of his Mitochondrial Disorder
  14. Collins, 30 for 41. The pass defense should be pretty quiet this week
  15. This is the exact same formula that the Vikings(frerotte) and Bucs(Griese) used against the Bears. Short yard pass to death. Its absolutely disgraceful that no adjustment has been made
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) How is it their receivers are constantly open, especially on 3rd down. What type of coverage are we playing..... Babich coverage
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) my god....grossman missing open receivers left and right Didnt Rasheid Davis drop the last pass? Thats what Joniak said
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) Bears fans are f***ing disgraceful...shut the f*** up. Grossman is going up against one of the best defenses in the NFL and led a nice touchdown drive and made one mistake. He did miss a shot at moving the chains but nothing boo worthy. f***ing pathetic the way that guy has gotten treated. It doesnt matter when it happens, if Grossman make 1 mistake, he is booed unmercifully. Every time.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) we haven't even made collins move his feat ..... f***ing nate vasher has been so bad this year...i dont think its gonna be too long before his spot is gone Vasher has been pitiful since he got paid.
  20. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) I have to disagree. Bobby's built like Billy Wagner more than F. Rodriguez. His career as a closer will be long. He deserves high-seven figures, and he'll still be a hugely valuable commodity. He has a bit more value while being underpaid, I'll give you that. But this really depends on the team - I don't think $ is a huge issue for the Mets. I'm not saying don't trade him - just get A LOT. I love Bobby as much as any of his fans, but he already has screws in his elbow, and he has missed time in both of the last couple years due to various injuries with his back. That and Billy Wagner had reconstructive surgery this offseason
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) Everyone in the world knows Rex is best down the field over the middle, and yet, they haven't thrown one yet in that direction. Im listening to the game, so my viewpoint is definitely skewed (as in, not there at all), but I havent heard Jeff Joniak say play-action yet. And thats where Rex completely excels, is off the hard fake play action. Forte has already scored a TD(albeit on the throw), and the defense is geared up for the run. I just dont understand why Turner is so schizophrenic when it comes to playcalling.
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) I know that's why I say bring a CB or something. Bring Payne on a blitz who is a great blitzer as a safety, something to get Collins rattled and throw a bad ball. I completely agree.
  23. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) We can't get any pass rush on Collins. Come on guys, he is as immobile in the pocket as any NFL QB, bring a corner blitz or something to get him under some pressure. The Bears rush 4 everytime
  24. The play calling with Turner always goes from surprising and effective to completely stale and predictable between series
  25. The Bears have now won(and deferred) 9 coin flips in a row.
