QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 07:30 AM) We're not invited? WTF? LOL, an open soxtalk invitation would be disastrous for any event.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Are you on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences? My seat is right next to yours, if you would take your blinders off

What is going on with that 21 year old "next big thing" guy who is trying to avoid the japanese draft and come directly to the MLB?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) New? The "old" part is fairly new. He has transitioned from playing a active badass to the guy you see in the Gran Torino previews, sitting on the porch complaining about everything. He can still kick alot of ass, but he would rather complain. He played that character to a T in Million Dollar Baby. I have become a big fan of the movies he directs too

I was an student in an ISR class, my parents insisted. I always have loved swimming, never have been afraid of the water

QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) LOL I know you guys of ST too well.I can read the thread title and know exactly who is gonna post in it. God love ya. Yeah, you can find the same people in the same threads pretty consistently. Kind of like how the blagojevich thread has turned from "This guy is a total douchbag" to "the democrats this, the republicans that" Its all the usual suspects

QUOTE (beautox @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) why worked out pretty well for the braves Hudson is had Tommy John surgery this year, no? Its more the exception if you look at the pitchers he has dumped or let walk Zito has been more than a dud in SF Mulder is just about out of baseball Harden cant pitch more than 3 games in a row without arm issues Koch completely fell apart Blanton certainly wasnt the pitcher the Phillies thought they were going to be getting, although he has been serviceable Street really was getting lit up like a Christmas tree this year until he was put into a setup role like Kalapse said

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) All I'm saying is, an alien spacecraft would not have lights because it would not want to be detected. Airplanes do not go into space. They need lights so that they do not run into each other and can be recognized by radar and air traffic control. Alien spacecraft are not airplanes, they are space ships. They wouldn't need exterior lights going while they fly because their crafts are not meant for flying in earth airspace, where lights are required. All I am saying is that we dont know a damn thing about UFOs, so to say they would or would not have lights is something I just dont agree with.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 01:18 PM) You really think people on the board would be in favor of adding Moyer after last season for this season?? Its a moot point because it isnt going to happen, but I certainly dont believe that there would be an uproar about it like you do. The guy went 16-7 with a 3.71 ERA this year, he isnt a slouch. And like I said, the guy isnt a power pitcher, his age doesnt matter, he breaks bats with a 8o MPH fastball and he has been doing it for the last 20 years -

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) How often would you drive around in your car with your interior lights on? Exterior lights might be reasonable if you were on your own planet, but not if you were trying to be stealthy. Interior lights? The lights I just saw on that footage were clearly on the outside of whatever that was. And you are assuming they are trying to be stealthy. Who knows what the intent was for whatever that was in the footage

If you are traveling in space, sure, but what about when they land? Do they need lights on their own planet to make sure they dont run into other aircraft, similar to why US aircraft need lights? Im certainly not going to discount it because it has lights.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) Bill, in that trailer, doesn't Clint look like Dad? Especially when he is pointing the gun and saying 'Get off my lawn'. LOL, its funny that the scene where CE is looking down the barrel of a shotgun at the camera reminds you of your father. What kind of trouble did YOU get into in your formative years?

QUOTE (BearSox @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) ugh, Street is quite possibly the most overrated relief pitcher in baseball. Agreed, and you dont want to be on the recieving end of a Billy Beane pitcher trade

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 12:51 AM) True fathom but I'd like to give Jamie Moyer credit. If we had him on our team at his age as an acquisition everybody would SCREAM on here. He pitched a f***ing great game. We could do a lot worse than picking up some old pitcher who can eat up innings like Moyer. Congrats to a class act, Jamie Moyer. Baseball, by the way is a fricking joke. The game ends just before 2 a.m. Eastern. There are so many things wrong about that there is no need to mention. f*** YOU commissioner. What are you talking about? Who would scream and why would they scream? Moyer is still producing at a pretty high level, his age has nothing to do with it as he doesnt rely on speed and overpowering hitters -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) Don't go to Vegas. I dont know, after those predictions he has to be right sometime. Maybe that time is now -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 08:07 AM) I don't think people are ever going to learn that this guy has about 1 year left in baseball, if that. Hasnt he spent a good part of the last 3 years on the DL as it is? I mean, the idea of this thread is to throw money at a guy who has blown out his arm already and now has a mitochondrial disorder that tires him out. I agree Steve, Baldelli is going to be one of those "what could have been" players after he retires in a year

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 08:51 AM) It really isn't. In most retailer's cases, you don't need the proper name, address, or zip code to make charges - even the ones that ask for all that information before allowing charges to go through. I don't mean to but into the conversation here, not being a Republican but I think I know why this isn't a big story. As a percentage, and in a total dollar total, McCain has raised more incomplete or undocumented donations in this cycle. From opensecrets.org http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/scoffall.php?cycle=2008 Its a common misconception that people are able to verify everything coming through on any specific charge. It just doesnt happen like you think. It isnt a free for all for anyone, but it isnt a lockdown per verification of [name, address, vocation, etc] items either.

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) A UFO would not have lights on it; and if it did, it would be seen more than just at night. ?

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) Why can't people hold a damn camera still? Also, I've always thought if UFOs can somehow navigate large distances of space what purpose would they have for large strobing lights? Are they worried in all their advanced technology about hitting other aircraft? No kidding. It seems like a UFO video regular occurence
