  1. WTF?!?! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...&id=2986420 Can someone explain to me why Gene Upshaw should be taking any flak for NOT supporting Michael Vick?
  2. I was just thinking that with Steffs current status as "with child", maybe she should change her group from "The Doables!" to "Done"

QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 07:09 AM) This just shows why we need more platoon lineups. In 2008 we could platoon Erstad / BA in CF, Pods / Ozuna in LF, Sweeney / Terrero in RF and Dye / Thome at DH, Richar / Gonzalez at 2B, A.J. / Hall at C, Uribe / Cintron at SS and Konerko / Rogowski at 1B. Our only real problem for next year is needing a lefthanded hitting thirdbaseman to platoon with Fields. Ozzie clearly needs to use more platoons but any way you look at it we can't afford to lose a valuable platoon player like Podsednik. In light of Pods 3rd injury this year, and his 6th or 7th since he joined the Sox in 2005, why in the heck would you want Pods on the team next year?

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 21, 2007 -> 03:11 PM) YES!! Loved the White Castle one and I see they are bringing back alot of the old cast, Neil Patrick Harris (actor guy), freakshow. Also the cop looks familiar I think from that one Fox show 'The Winner" which stopped after 3 weeks. American Pie: Beta House ^No trailer but heres the next American Pie, the Naked Mile was alright, series has went downhill ever since Jim and the gang kinda broke up. You mean since the first American Pie.
  5. How Atlanta Falcons fans feel Hmmmm, one action involves the regulated hunting of an animal, which normally results in instant death. The other involves betting on one animal to completely maul the other until it dies or gives up fighting back, and gambling on the outcome. I cant see why this is such a bad thing Is there anyone who feels that this is a race-fauled witch-hunt who posts regularly here? I would just like to hear a different opinion on this matter. The way i see it, if Taylor, Phillips, and Peace werent dealing drugs AND fighting dogs, Vick would probably be fine right now. But Vicks boys got in trouble because they were busted dealing, and when the authorities showed up, they saw the grand scale of what was really going on.
  6. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) How about NO Winter Ball-who does that ever benefit? Unless someone is changing positions. Fields in left?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) When did they change the release date? I haven't heard that yet. I'm one of the fans of the original that plans to skip this version. Never mind, I just checked IMDB for the release date. So much for listening to your friends. I just dont understand releasing a movie like this now when you can maximize the revenue a month and a half later. Its going to be an old hat in october, everyones opinions about it are going to affect new people seeing the movie, where they could generate some hype about it through the month of october and get butts in the seats. Bad move

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:40 AM) If that is from Takara USA I've had it and it's really nice. Takara USA's marketing line is that their water comes from Sierra Nevada Mountain snow melt and local Sacramento Valley rice. At first I naively though Japanese sake had to be better than American versions, but the Japanese parent company keeps Takara USA's quality standards high and I have not been disappointed by anything I've tried from them. Yep, bottled by Takara USA printed on the back. There is just something about drinking this stuff hot. Its the only liquor I really like served above room temperature.
  9. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Here is an idea, lets put the starters thru more innings in the preseason to replicate the burnout felt in 2006. Also have Hall play 1B again, and any new player play out of position to acclimate them to their current position. Lastly, have Anderson tear it up in the preseason only to be beat out by Julio Franco/Ricky Henderson/Rafael Palmiero for the starting Centerfielder job. the burnout was from the playoffs and the WBC, not spring training. I agree with the rest(lol franco, palmeiro and Henderson), but i dont see the harm in making sure your pitchers are ready for the upcoming season by making them work in ST. I think one necessity is making sure Contreras has a slump buster if he is still on the team. Something to get his mind off of his divorce.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:27 AM) Yeah, you have a point there. But the main complaint is that he might have the visuals down (to a certain degree), but he is missing the heart of the old stuff. I personally can't say, as I have yet to see any of his films. They just don't look interesting to me. I don't think there is a guy in the Horror world that anybody really is looking to with "savior" eyes. I think the one most fans agree is doing right by the genre in Del Toro. He doesn't dumb it down and you can tell he LOVES the genre. Zombie though is a total dividing line. You either love him or hate him. Kind of like Eli Roth and the whole torture film world. I think Zombie is going to take a little while to get the full grasp of what he is trying to do. His "growth" in the film business has probably been stunted a little bit by his foray into music, and his first couple films were probably just getting his feet wet, i expect a much better film and storyline out of Halloween. I saw something interesting on his wikipedia page: LOL, PeeWees playhouse warps another mind. anyhow, back to the discussion. right now Halloween is going to be quite a risky undertaking for Zombie if you ask me. The true fans of the franchise will probably reject it off hand without even seeing it(of course not all will do this), casual fans will see "remake" and walk away, and that leaves Zombie with the task of drawing in some new fans. So Zombie has to leave it all on the table with this movie, or else he is going to be the guy who came out with one movie that no studio would touch (House of 1000 corpses), a movie that met with a lukewarm reception(The Devils rejects), and a bad remake(Halloween). Im happy he did the right thing and at least will release the film on Halloween.

Actually, i just went and checked a bottle me and my wife had from our 1st anniversary, and we were served Sho Chiku Bai premium Ginjo Sake. So apparently i have had a different brand of sake. unfortunately i cannot report on the taste of this brand, because that night I was overloaded on sake, rice wine, champaign, and japanese beer.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) But most diehard Horror fans think the complete opposite. They feel he is getting better, but still missing the boat for the most part. I expect his Halloween to be the best of his work, but still completely void of what made the original the classic it is. Who do most diehard horror fans like nowadays though? It seems that "diehard" fans of any genre are going to be disappointed in anything considered a throwback to their genre or anything new.
  13. Shouldnt something be announced today about Vicks intentions? I swear I read somewhere that today was the day

The only kind I have had is Nigori, and that is when i go to Domo 77 in Wheaton/Warrenville or Kobe in Lake Zurich. Nigori seems to be the preferred Sake at Japanese Steakhouses. I havent had any alternatives, but i do like nigori

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) I also want to see it. I trust Rob Zombie to actually go for a true horror story instead of all the garbage horror movies that come out now that are about somebody or something jumping out of the dark for cheap scares. And I think he has too much respect for the series to just "gore it up," which is another way for s***ty directors to get cheap scares. Zombie has an incredible grasp of what made 70's horror movies so successful. He doesnt make any pretense of it being realistic, uses the gore to his advantage, and gives horror fans what they want to see. I think he is a great throwback to his genre, and I was really impressed with house of 1000 corpses. It reminded me of some of the older horror movies i used to watch with my cousin(Boogins, ghoulies, critters, re-animator, texas chainsaw massacre, Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th). Im really looking forward to his interpretation of Mike Meyers and his origin.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 08:48 AM) A little bit of a headache and the taste of something not good in my mouth, but otherwise not too bad. Were you successful in getting your plunger from Rrrarget?
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) I'm way more happy about this signing that I would have thought I would be a month ago. With the way the rest of the outfield is looking we needed something somewhat solid going into next year. I'm not the biggest dye fan in the world, but we needed him back. Thats because a month ago Dye was teh suck
  19. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 10:58 PM) Bring back the best sig ever, in preparation for the celebration of the killing of the Legend of John Cena's title reign! Could someone please make me a sig with Orton missing the RKO on Jericho from that botchfest video? Thanks.
  20. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 05:58 PM) Apparently, one of the co-defendents is ready to testify that Vick killed numerous dogs HIMSELF, both by hanging and drowning. What a sick asshole. His NFL career is over. Thank god. While i really hope for this to be true, I dont believe it to be true. I think he will find his way back somehow
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 07:53 AM) Where did you hear this?? All morning I've been hearing that his lawyers are urging him to, but he's not sure "it's the right thing to do". Yesterday SI was reporting that the Feds told Vick "If you dont take this plea, the superceding indictment is coming down", but they seem to have backed off that right now. Does anyone believe that Vick will be banned for life from the NFL?
  22. Yeah, I dont see the humor in it either. Its one thing to prank someone you know like that(hopefully a friend who understands those types of pranks, and pulls them on you as well), but this was just mean spirited pranking of unsuspecting people.
  23. An Example of "Fire in the Hole"
  24. I thought this youtube video prank was pretty mean-spirited anyways http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/1...870/detail.html Of course, when you pull a prank like this and you videotape it, and broadcast it all over the world through youtube, you are gonna get caught.
