  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) To be completely fair, I wouldn't argue it either. Mix that with a dose of the typical Score formula of saying stuff to upset people and drive ratings, and I think you have a winner. WHen he brought it up yesterday, immediately he started mentioning how Sox fans were upset and they were dumb to be upset about it, because advanced metrics say so. And then finished his argument by saying pretty much the same thing as his last paragraph in his column, its probably too early to make these presumptions
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 7, 2014 -> 11:39 AM) I'm curious to see what Paul does but Marinelli is a legend and was great for this team. Outstanding human being too. I think Marinelli was good with Lovie. His effect on a defense was definitely not apparent in Big D last season
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 7, 2014 -> 11:42 AM) The problem I am having with Dan Bernstein is that I picture him watching a game, seeing the result and then looking at the advanced stats to see if he should be happy with the result. I like sports I really do but at the end of the day the s*** that seems to now go back and forth now a days takes away from the enjoyment. I want to like Avasail Garcia but I can't because he hits too many ground balls and not enough fly balls. Sports are entertainment, tanking with the hope that in five years everything will be roses and p****cats mystifies me. That would be like taking a television away from someone that really likes television by telling them in four years, they may get the mother of all televisions. I get that it is a business and teams do things with the bigger picture in mind but I want my three hours of daily entertainment. That is all I seek from sports. At the end of the day my life is no better the following morning after a teams win or lose. This goes for the fall of 2005 as well. For some reason advanced statistics are doing the same thing for me. I can't enjoy Tyler Flowers, why...his BABIP tells me he will suck from now until mid-July. The stats tell me so. Rizzo and Abreu are having good starts. Rizzo has been a round for a few yeas Abreu for a month. THAT IS THE f***ING STORY NOT RUNS CREATED V WOBA or whatever the f*** he is talking about.. well, Feeky tells you so too
  4. I love reading fathom, soxfest and greg chalking up this game as a loss
  5. QUOTE (southside hitman @ May 7, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) People were losing their s*** over Jernigan early on but on films he looks like a inconsistent motor guy. He can dominate when he wants to but most of the time he's coasting along. He dominates when the Reefer Madness sets in
  6. He was trying to troll this yesterday, saying that Rizzo is the better player currently, and that any GM would have a hard time picking Abreu over Rizzo.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2014 -> 09:08 AM) I agree with that part. I just remember Omar being thought of as a back up IF, and that was it. Then he hit Cleveland, and wow. you have to think anyone stuck in that lineup would develop his hitting merely by osmosis. Talk about a fearsome bunch of hitters

  10. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 7, 2014 -> 07:58 AM) Maybe more, if you look at pitchers who has such a violent delivery and who also have the thin frame he has, while throwing as hard as he does. The 3 elbow issues he had in the past 3 years are not fluke injuries, they most likely are results of him repeating a highly stressful delivery for 100 times every 5 days. Whatever the outcome this latest injury is, we should take it as a warning sign. It would be miraculous if he avoid any serious elbow injuries over the next 3 years. I hope I am wrong, but I am not liking the chances. Have they all been elbow issues? I thought at least one was forearm, not elbow
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 7, 2014 -> 08:04 AM) She must be in need of money The handbag market collapsed
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 6, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) Boy those are light bats. I would roll everything over. That's because you play 16" Different game. I want bat speed, I don't need the weight in the bat to send a heavier ball, the composite bat will do the work
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 7, 2014 -> 06:45 AM) Beckham goes 4-4 Danks drives in two with a double Two guys I'd never even heard of a month ago combine for 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 8K I give up trying to figure this team out. I'm just enjoying the ride. This team has warts, but they are infinitely more watchable than 2013

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) No offense, and not wanting to start an Ozzie-fest riot on here again, but the last couple seasons I thought we've been told by many on here the manager does nothing. So how was Ozzie stealing money? Robin seems to get a free pass since the Sox talent has been declining, though he still had a contender his first year. LMAO Robin gets a free pass? Are you serious????
  19. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 6, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Can't you just use your admin abilities to delete his post and make everyone think you posted it first? Or would that be an abuse of power? I will have to delete yours too. and threaten you with permaban if you tell. It just isnt worth it, so i will whine

  23. Golden State waves goodbye to Mark Jackson. I have a feeling some crazy stuff is gonna come out of that situation, that coach recording everything and white mamba being sent away is just weird http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/w...-lacob/8771233/
  24. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 6, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) I'm assuming $60 was a fair deal for it. Oh yea, if it is only a year old and he already broke it in you are good. Its just an ounce heavier than the bats we have on my team. 26 ounces seems to be the preferred weight for the guys on my team. But the extra weight should be good if you want to try and jack a few bombs. And if you dont like it, you should look on softballfans and see if someone will trade with you.
  25. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ May 6, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) Yah but typically boers and bernstein hate everybody don't they? They do, but they have a special hate for a select group
