  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:17 PM) two years ago I was driving up through Wisconsin. I stopped at a gas station in Lomira, as soon as I drove off and got back on the highway, my credit card company called me. -sir, did you just spend $600 at this gas station? -No, I just bought $60 worth of gas, that's it. -Well then, it appears your card has been compromised. Stop using that one and we will send you a new one. Pretty impressive they caught it so quick, must have been a scanner installed on the gas pump. Oh yea, that's a pump skimmer. They break inside the pumps and install the reader on the inside, it is a pretty big scam
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 06:40 PM) For the third time now, my debit card with Chase has had fraudulent charges attempted to be charged against it. Chase did catch them and denied payment, but I had to cancel the card get a new one. After the last time, i vowed to not use it except to withdraw cash, and I only withdraw cash at Chase machines, and only at branches and Walgreens. Does anyone have any idea how the thieves are getting my card info. Yes I do. Two reasons: 1: they are hacking a specific merchant you are using, or a specific merchant bank. They can do this a variety of different ways, through software security flaws, people on the inside, insecure wireless signals. Etc. they steal all of the pertinent info and sell it online to people that rewrite magnetic strips of gift cards or closed credit cards and go spend. 2: numerical theft. They take one credit card number and run a program to test thousands of numbers in order after that first number. All of the card numbers that test ok are sold online and used quickly. This is my job, this is what I do. My advise is use your card normally, set up fraud alerts either via text or phone call, and make sure you can monitor your account online and watch it frequently. It isn't your fault, it isn't the banks fault, normally it isn't the merchants fault. These crooks are good at what they do. We try very hard to keep our strategies updated and these guys just keep going

Ken Caminiti was the guy I traded for whenever I started a season. Ridiculous power from both sides of the plate. LOL, i loved how you could slide the players back and forth in the box, just square up the ball and destroy it. Only Randy Johnson could hold me below 10 runs in a game, his slider killed me.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) I still have a never-been-opened Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for N64. Who wants it for $100? Loved that game. So ridiculous, I usually had 40 homeruns for every player in the lineup by May
  5. I dont think you can trust Craig for a full year in the OF. That man is brittle. Great hitter though, probably destined for a DH role

A friend of mine and i were just discussing older games that we got rid of, lost, or lent to a friend and had them go missing, only to find out that they are worth a lot of money now. I lent a friend a gamecube game 3 years ago called Eternal Darkness, and his sister lost it(or took/stole/sold it. whatever, its gone) Its going for 90 bucks on amazon now Not that i want to sell it, I actually want to play it.
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) Thanks to whoever moved it. My apologies no big deal. just combining threads, its the offseason so it doesnt matter if it is PHT or Diamond Club
  8. Jay takes bizarre angles to the ball, and plays really shallow which makes those angles look even worse. At least thats what I noticed about him
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) ChiTribSports ‏@ChiTribSports 17m Hester confident he could play defensive back if necessary http://trib.in/1jt2E8i cannot underline, bold and enlarge this enough
  10. The part about players disappearing off class rosters and magically passing classes wasnt all that shocking to me. The open threats to teachers bothered me, especially the homophobic one
  11. If/When he gets arrested, im willing to bet he will have tons of stolen and counterfeit cards on his person, as well as gift cards
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:12 AM) Even with Butler though you saw him step on the court and immediately do things well like rebounding and steals. We drafted 2 three point shooters that can't shoot threes. Hip Hip.. I went to bed after the first half thinking Rose was back, only to see he probably missed every single shot in 2nd half and... somehow only got to line once. I think you are over reacting a bit. Jimmy only played in 42 games in his first season, and usually in garbage time. Snell is in over his head, and has been put in the lineup out of necessity
  13. We wont know anything about Snell until next season. This is his Thibs redshirt season

  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) We didn't have all the info. $2,100 charged at Target and Walgreens in Warrenville and Hillside before fraud alert went off. All on giftcard. So stupid they didn't check ID. Already got video. Two black guys. Someone stole her wallet off her desk at f***ing work. Security cams there should be interesting tomorrow. Thanks goodness for $0 owed with fraud protection. The two hours at the police department sucked tonight, though. Hopefully an arrest is made. You would be surprised how many people have their wallets/purses/cards stolen off their desks at work. I bet your wife locks her stuff up from now on
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) When I was in college, I used my girlfriends card at a grocery store. The teller was an older lady, and she looked at the card itself. She gavee a look, and said with a smile "You don't look like a [wite's gf]." I just laughed and explained that it was her card and she laughed. It's funny, but exactly why credit card fraud is out of control
  17. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) Indeed they are. What makes me even more worried about it is the number of times I've swiped my card for a $50+ purchase and the cashier doesn't even ask to look at my card. Stores prefer it that way, they don't want their employees getting into confrontations with criminals
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) That's crazy to charge that much and the employee doesn't even ask for ID? Awful Happens every day, for much much more than that. I know, I have to recover the funds for my job. That's gift cards they bought, and they probably drove to the stores designated by the gift cards and burned them up already
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) You do realize the first MLB action David Freese got was at age 26 which he had 34 PA. At age 27 he had 270. At age 28 he had 363. so according to this and you Conor is ahead of schedule and will be better then Freese I also realize his numbers were much better than Conors in all three of those seasons. Like I said, Im not saying I want Freese, Im just saying he is better than Conor
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Freese has played 2 full seasons, not like he has 6 or 7 to go off of. One pretty good year and one bad. Like I said he has an injury filled past too so you can't really say "injury-plagued year." He will always have some injuries going on. He still managed to play 138 games this year, only 6 more then the previous year. Ok, well you are using the "He is 30 and more likely to regress" reasoning for Freese. Thats fine, but what about "Conor Gillaspie had his first season in the bigs at 26, so this is probably the best he is ever going to be"? Usually players that couldnt get out of the minors until that age end up being nothing more than AAAA players. Freese has demonstrated that he can produce at the big league level
  21. I wonder what the people at Applebees think of this move
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) So for fun, would you trade Anthony Davis for the first pick in the 2014 draft? Are we talking in terms of being the Pelicans? Or just being a GM of XXXX team that has Davis on the roster?
  23. I just want to state that I am not really all for bringing in Freese, but I do feel like (if healthy) he is way better than Conor.
