  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:08 AM) No need to insult us. Yes it's only an exhibition game, but what makes the White Sox so special that they were the only team to ask (demand?) they not use one of their players? The last place, woeful White Sox. They truly are a laughingstock over this issue. I'm still waiting to see if Chris Sale takes the heat off the front office by saying he "didn't feel right" or something. That's all he needs to say and people like me have to shut up. Will he do that, though? How many teams didn't have a player compete in the game? I do not know the answer. Was it just the White Sox? At least Big Hurt was one of the commentators. Seriously though. Some of us have the right to be mad about Sale not pitching. I wonder when is the last time a White Sox did not appear in the game. Some franchises are proud to show off their best players; the Sox ask that the player not be used. I bet Yost got sick of dealing with Robin and just said, "Fine he won't f***ing pitch unless we need him in extra innings and there's no other option." If I was Sale and I wanted to pitch, I'd sure let the Sox beat writers know it wasn't my call. Hopefully Sale will call out those who made this call or shut me up by saying he hasn't felt 100 percent right lately. He could even say he's had a bug or something. That shuts Greg up. Greg get the f*** over it. Teams asking for pitchers to be held out of the game happens literally every year. The sox made the smart decision here. They NEED to continue this run they're on if they want any hope of being in contention. A fresh Chris Sale makes that much easier.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:11 AM) It sucks. It happens with pitchers. Cracking up at the conversation you're having with yourself right now.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 5, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Gagged when I saw Lakers trying to clear cap room for Hibbert. Had no idea they were terrible and in bad financial shape. Who is costing them money beside Kobe? Kobe takes up a massive portion of their cap.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) I like Hahns jacket. Seen him in that in a few pictures this year. Have yet to find anywhere to buy it.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) Only if you quit pretending that Steve Kerr won that title. The Warriors were so good with Mark Jackson.
  6. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 05:14 PM) That could be. If he left Sale in and Sale gave up a couple base runners - then he should bring in Roberston to be a hero. Ventura has been watching the same Robertson we have been. The guy has been very shaky lately (tied for league lead in blown saves). It was the wrong move. Today was different he didn't have the option to leave the most dominating pitcher in baseball in for 10 more pitches. Robertson was the only choice. And all I'm saying is. If sale was left in and gave up the lead you and 50 other people would be complaining about not bringing in Robertson. Hindsight is 20/20
  7. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 05:09 PM) Pretty much ignored all the details I posted about the situation. How and why pitchers blow their arms out is highly debatable... I see you are another believe in the fallacy of pitch counts. I'm not. I'm simply puppeting things people would say if that happened. If Robin gets blamed for putting his closer into the game in the ninth then he cannot win with anyone.
  8. Hilarious. If he leaves sale in and sale blows it you'd tear him apart. Or if sale blows his arm out in July people would b**** about riding him too hard earlier in the season. Your closer blowing it isn't robins fault. The defensive miscues and complete lack of offense might be robins fault.
  9. Were so lucky to be able to watch this guy every 5 days.
  10. Chuck and stone are very enjoyable to listen to.
  11. The only thing chuck is better at than hawk is letting us hear stone more.
  12. Too much agreement in here the past few pages . This is the NBA thread, start fighting dammit.
  13. He's gunna be a free agent thus year, can't hurt to scout him even if a deal isn't made or the sox stay in the race.
  14. Been the biggest thibs supporter, but they need a change. Same s*** over and over.
  15. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 10, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) If he can do what he did today each time he pitches, I'd be more than happy with him. Giving up 1-2 runs over 7 innings isn't that bad from a #5 starter. That isn't that bad from any starter.
  16. 2 tickets to today's game. Section 107. Will email them for free to the first person who PMs me their name/email address.
  17. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 6, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) The ball he hit would've been a double play if McCann didn't get throw out. He'd be using a much different approach at the plate with a guy at 3rd and 1 out. So you can't say that.
  18. I'm a high school teacher and I do this all the time. So no.
  19. Where the hell was mike dunleavy?
  20. I don't know if I'll watch game 6. Not worth it at this point. I'll save myself 2.5 hours.
  21. This team is so frustrating to watch sometimes.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) What has the weather been like in April? The ball carries in USCF a lot differently in the summer months (June-August) than April through mid-May and mid to late September. Many of those balls coming up just short at the fence, like the one Melky Cabrera speared, are going to be homers instead. Ball was carrying today. Gordon's homer shouldn't have went out. The ball melky caught felt like it just kept going.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Coming out of the huddle of the last play of the Bulls game, I asked out loud why Derrick Rose was on the floor for a defensive possession at the end of the game. I am still waiting for my answer. Dude didn't even get screened. He just lost Mayo. Embarrassingly bad. He's played pretty good defense all series. Especially on ball. I would've had him in there.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 25, 2015 -> 02:34 AM) Anyone doing a franchise in The Show, got a question. I had Rodon in the rotation starting around June, and simmed the rest of the season. When it came to renewing all the contacts for the off-season, you can only make Rodon a basic free agent offer, although his status says "Contract Renewable". If I don't do anything with him in December, he just becomes a free agent. Why isn't he under contract with the Sox, and why doesn't he just get his major league salary another year, since he is a player under team control? He signed with the Rangers, so I just restarted the off-season from my last save. You might have to offer him a contract to keep the rights to him? Then in like February you can just auto renew his contract if he doesn't accept the original offer.
