    QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 30, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Jim and I are having a blast here in Kona. It's about 90 degrees and we just got done snorkeling with the local sealife. Amazing!!! Sorry to hear of the Sox woes, but such is life and it's good to remember last year. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Bears. We are :-). Take care kids. Mahalo. Go Bears!!!! wow, this just gets me even more excited for my honeymoon in maui starting in 15 days...
  2. i watch it with the fiance'/soon to be wife QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) Jeffrey, Michael, Uli, Laura at Fashion Week IMHO. I think it was a copout that nobody got cut. They did it because it doesn't matter if someone gets cut - all four show anyway so that who the final three is isn't spoiled before the episodes air. its because they knew uli should have been the one to go, but she finally made a decent dress so they couldnt cut her, and everyone else really deserved to be there (especially jeffrey and micheal.)
  3. This league IS a blast, and I am pretty sure Detroit is available still...
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 07:18 AM) We're still in this. lol
  5. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) Mike North reported that an AP report said that an entire bottle of pain medication was empty yeah... though that doesnt mean that it was emptied in one sitting.
  6. ESPN is going to look foolish on this. I'm believing that this "suicide attempt" is complete bulls***.

  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 08:47 AM) Hmmm help the Tigers, or get the kids a week of ABs.... boy I wonder what my choice would be... word. It's going to be funny when the Tigers' magical season ends. If anyone thinks that boatload of journeymen is going to be this good next season they're nuts.
  14. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) it's finally over. this team gave up after the all star break. i'm glad the final mathematical bulls*** is done. f*** THE SOX. they're gonna have to prove something to me next year as i have to predict them to finish 4th behind the indians... no one ever took you for a sox fan, no one ever will... go back to your pre-fall05 mlb team, which is probably the yankees.
  15. QUOTE(Linnwood @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) 18K? http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=260925109 WOW, such fans up in Minnesota!
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) I'd hate to be KW. Suddenly looks like he's gotta lot of work to do. id love to be KW...
  17. Jackass Number 2 was incedibly messed up, and incredibly hilarious. dare i say better than the first? i dare!
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) I don't think they had a $200 million payroll the years they repeated. It was probably closer to the meager $100 million payroll that the White Sox currently have. that was when most teams had payrolls of 50-60 mill.
  19. AJ homer on "Half Way to St. Patrick's Day" was solid as well... AJP has a flair for the dramatic, it would seem. the incredible comeback to score like 9 runs in the ninth (we went on to lose, but when iguchi hit that homer, i s*** myself).
  20. QUOTE(PartyForFree @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 10:07 AM) You didn't complete the sign-up process on our site. Click the link below and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! That felt good. yeah, that attitude'll get em in the door.
  21. QUOTE(blazewc77 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Do you guys think we can get possibly Michael young for Uribe and Freddy Garcia and maybe a minor leaguer? Who would you give up ? or anyone else in the starting rotation instead of Freddy? this is going to be a loooong offseason on soxtalk... i nominate a new forum "non-justified trade speculation"... so i can ignore it and posts like this.
  22. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) I wouldn't rule it out at all. KW's going to make a splash in the off-season. He did that last off-season filling our main need in getting a big left handed hitting slugger in Thome. Our main need this off-season is getting better starting pitcher, and Kenny may decide Willis is the guy to do that. then he'd be wrong. a 3.77 era and a 1.40 whip in the NL would equal death in the AL...

    now THAT is news.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) I'm saying that we would have to trade a prospect along with Garland to get Willis (although I don't agree with that value wise, that is probably what would happen). Then the Marlins would trade Garland and still get prospects along with that. It depends on what type of prospects they want. They have a huge need for a young stud center fielder. So if the Marlins traded Willis to the Mets for say some stud pitching prospects, they haven't filled that CF need. That's why he may end up at a team like the D-Backs for Chris Young. It's kind of like the Jeff Weaver to the Yanks trade that happened a few years back. The Yanks got Weaver and gave up Ted Lilly and other prospects. The Tigers could have held onto Lilly but traded him to Oakland so that they could get Bonderman and Pena. So if the Tigers decided to just straight up trade Weaver to the Yanks the end result in terms of the players and prospects they got back would have been different. well, my point is that the White Sox are not the right match. No need for D-Train.
  25. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) Because the 3rd team may have to give up less for Garland than they would for Willis. And because they know if they can't trade for Willis, well Garland is a pretty good backup scenario. I'd imagine we'd have to give up a prospect along with Garland to get Willis. Yes, but you don't understand. Why would the Marlins swap Willis to us for Garland, whom they could get less for? Stategically, that is a horrible move. Garland is better than Willis when considering the league in which he pitches, so our swapping him for Willis would be dumb, let alone adding a spect or two. so, basically, you're saying the marlins would want to trade willis for garland because they could get LESS for garland? it just doesn't add up.
