Plus, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark had black/white drawings that were very creepy looking.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) I had this memory from my childhood I was hoping someone could help me with. It was around '90,'91 when I was in first grade. There was this one black/white picture book we were allowed to read after school, and I was always afraid of it because of how violent it was. The basic premise of the book would be about a girl who seemed really innocent, but then would just go crazy at a moments notice and kill people. I'm really digging into my memory here, but the story would go, "Mary came across a monster, and didn't know what to do. So she took out an ax and chopped the animal into little pieces." I'm really interested in whether it was as odd and strange as I remember it. Although, admittingly, I'm not being very descriptive so I dont know if what I wrote down will jog anyone's memory. Its just been bugging me because there isn't anything specific about the book that I could search google for. Was it possibly from one of the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books? There were a bunch and as a kid I remember them being messed up. It had some pictures.

QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) On a side note... Any Pre owners out there? What do you think of it?I have no complaints. It's fast, it works for my E-mail accounts, the integration with Facebook and other applications is stellar... I've played with my buddy's iPhone countless times and this phone is faster and sleeker and the WebOS setup is brilliant. It loads the internet as if it were a computer too, very fast and reliable. If you have any questions, PM me.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) Too bad the Pre has an OS nobody wants to develop for. xD iPhone fanboys are hilarious. It's a brand new OS and plenty have already developed. The library will grow. You guys get so defensive if anything isn't the great iPhone. The Pre is the s***, and has many features the iPhone doesn't, and all the features it does.

Quentin "one bad step" from being lost for season
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) Remember Dye, he was "injury prone". I say shut down Q for the rest of the season and get his foot in the best possible condition it can be for February 2010, whether it be surgery, therapy, ice and heat, new shoes, whatever the hell it takes. Just cause he's had some injuries, you don't give up on his offensive potential. But there really is no need to risk him making it worse this year. Lets face, even if we somehow win the division, we won't go far in the playoffs. Holy s***, I agree with BearSox.

Will Joe Mauer hit .400?
By the time Mauer is 28 (if not sooner) the Twins will have moved him from that position. There's no sense in letting someone with this offensive ability ruin his legs and back squatting for 9 innings a day. On a related note, I remember how many people ripped the Twins for taking the hometown kid and letting Mark Prior slip to 2 over financial reasons. I guess it worked out.
