Sox interested in Chin Lung Hu?
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to DBAHO's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
The Dodgers have a pretty good SS already, so hopefully they are will trade Hu to us though I am not counting on it. -
QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Yeah, same here. It's pathetic that to see a game there is that much money. Even at Yankee Stadium, it's rediculous for those ticket prices ($75 for the back part of the lower deck) is rediculous. PNC and Kauffman it's $27-$30 to sit in the lower deck. That should be the ticket prices for all the parks. I'm going to hold out and see what NL parks that Sox are playing at next year. I believe the NL West is due next season.

Dye has another RBI today. This is as hot as he has been all year. There might not be a better time than now to try and get a good package for him. If nothing good is out there, I am comfortable with 2 comp picks.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) I was thinking about seeing the Sox play in Toronto next year, until I saw that it's $63 to sit in the lower deck. That's pathetic. No wonder nobody comes to the games, because $63 is too much to see a sub-.500 team. Somebody help me out here- why for the Blue Jays, is it $63 to see a game there live? I knew things are more expensive in Canada, but I never would have guessed that much. I was thinking about going up there next year depending on the team we put together in the off season. Now not so much.

White Sox vs Indians, 7/18/07 (L)
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) Absolutely...he makes getting a hit seem so difficult, and his defense has been mediocre this year. I bumped the SS thread in tradewinds for Uribe ripping pleasure. -
Who are some options for us at SS in 2008
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Bump I am kind of hoping Uribe finishes the season below .200 so KW is almost forced to replace him. I wonder if we can get the Pirates to eat some of Jack Wilson's salary. Hell they are paying Kendall for hit .220 for the Cubs. -
The AZ GM seems to have poo-poo'd these rumors. Poo-poo

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) Just wanted to say how unreadable another Sox site is compared to this one....it sucked getting Sox news the last few days. I could not agree more, I visited two others, and wanted to gouge out my eyes from looking at too much stupidity.

QUOTE(StatManDu @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) THIS DATE IN SOX HISTORY: JULY 18TH For the rest of the day, see www.whitesoxalmanac.com 1995: Jim Abbott and Dave Righetti helped the White Sox sweep a doubleheader from the Yankees in New York. Abbott went the distance in the White Sox 9-4 win in the first game. In the sixth inning, Tim Raines set an American League record by swiping his 37th consecutive base. Righetti started the nightcap and netted his first win in two years in the Sox 11-4 victory. Righetti, who was called up before the game, allowed four runs in 6.2 innings for his first victory since April 20, 1993. The Sox ripped Jack McDowell for 13 hits and nine runs in 4.2 innings. After being pulled, McDowell gave the finger to the unruly crowd thus dubbing “Black Jack” the “Yankee Flipper.” I can honestly say that I have no recollection of Dave Righetti pitching for the White Sox, but I do remember the Yankee flipper.

In a related note, anybody see what Morrissey said in the Trib today about Jesse Jackson comments. That's racist!!! First I wish Nuke was around to blast Jesse. Second, I largely agree with Morrissey (which I guess is better that agreeing with Mariotti). Third, my bladder can not hold enough urine to allow me to adequate express myself on Jesse's grave when he is gone.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) I fail to see where in that article that KW threw Dye under the bus. He said the whole team is disappointing, and that Dye is included in that. And that is an understatement. ''He's frustrated, and I've got news: We're all a little frustrated around here right now because we're all better than this, and he's better than he's showing this year, too. We're all in this together. ''I know because of where we are there are some guys in there focusing on themselves rather than the team, and that's kind of a by-product of being in the position we're in. That's not totally unexpected, and I've seen it before. Nothing he can say, nothing you guys can write, nothing that can happen -- or I thought until [Monday night's bullpen meltdown] -- is going to surprise me.'' I did qualify my statement by saying he half heartedly threw Dye in front of the bus. When asked about Dye he was grouped in with other performs and then it was said that he is "focusing on himself".

Stepping away from our collective X boxes for a moment, remember we can get 2 comp picks for Dye. If we are trading him, we have to get something that is going make it worth it for us to give up those 2 picks.
-
There seemed to be some hints that Dye could be brought back if Sweeney and Co. are not ready. KW sounds none to pleased with Dye and seems to have half heartedly threw him in front of the bus. DYE'ing to get a new contract

I was getting the shakes without Soxtalk, I was going through withdrawal ... so I took Lindsey Lohan out drinking

Its tough to blame Ozzie when more than half the team can not hit a decent major league pitcher. -

7 through 1 in the order is embarassingly bad. 4 outs in a row. Poor Ozzie. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) Wow....Patterson is destroying Buehrle. I'd love to know what our record is with Toby catching this year. I posed this a few weeks back. I not sure we have won yet with Toby. Can we not bring him back next year? At least Gustavo played defense. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 07:03 PM) It appears as if Sox Talk has packed it in for the year? 7 game posts half way through the ballgame?? : It also means there are far fewer annoying people here too. -

Rudy Giuliani has a BIG problem....
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) oh, i'm sure if Giuliani wins the nomination, it will be a big attack ad theme. i wouldn't worry about not enough people seeing it. In that perspective, I suspect the Dems are praying Guiliani gets the nod. -
If I could post a picture of a pile of feces and label it "Gary Sheffield", I would.
