  1. one of those things I don't think he have noticed as much because all of our other faults, but our defense is awful this year.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) Toby isn't telling Jon to throw every pitch right down the middle, which is what Jon is doing. Can't blame him today. But without collecting the data, Toby seems to bring out the worst in pitchers except Jose who has nothing left but his worst.
  3. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....ports_hardball/ New Blog Info on Chicagosports.com I am really getting worn out with all of this. It is hard to have sympathy for millionaires.
  4. With numerous media sources basically saying that KW is an idiot if he does not give the no trade close, I think they are looking for a way to let KW save some face. Perhaps a NTC that is not called a No Trade Clause? The organization is being made to look worse to free agents by this saga than it would for having a reputation for low-balling or no giving NTC's.
  5. Somewhere Dusty Baker is smiling, because he knew what made Neifi good.
  6. Foxsports.com gave me quite a scare in the game thread in the injuries column. It says that Sweeney had successful season ending knee surgery that may be career threatening. But then I noticed that this is supposed to get Billy Butler more at-bats. The problem is that Foxsports has Mike Sweeney as member of the White Sox rather than Ryan Sweeny. Bastages gave me quite a scare. FoxSports
  7. QUOTE(Beltin @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 05:33 PM) Great. Sounds like the Sox are set up for a Contreras for Alomar, Jr. trade. I can't wait. After I posted that, I was thinking the same thing.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) I love Danks. Too bad he is a Borass client and will kick him to the curb on 5 years. I hope every scout in attendance saw Dye's hit. ...and if any of you happen to see a scout at a game, get them drunk and explain how good each player is and how much you will miss them when we sell them off.
  9. The mods should pat themselves on the back, this is a pretty dam cool place. Congrats!
  10. I guess it is better to slump in July than September if you can't stay hot the whole year. That said I hope it is a short slump. I hope those pesky Pirates give the Cubs just as much trouble.
  11. Just in case anybody was worried about Sandy Alomar Jr. coming back to the White Sox, worry no more. He's Back
  12. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) Anybody read it? I am probably gonna buy it and wanted to get some reviews. If you go to Amazon.com, my review is posted on the page (I'm the only top 500 reviewer on the page and second review from the top). Not a bad book.
  13. The value of Contrares is falling quicker than the price of fireworks the day after the 4th of July. If we traded him today, I should suspect we would be lucky to get a PTBNL depending on Jose's performance. Jose only did give up 2 earned runs last night though. While this is very unpopular thinking, might it be better to keep Jose a few more weeks and hope he gets his s*** together rather than trading him today. Maybe this is KW's thinking too. It is not a though his value can drop much more. He is on pace to lose 20 games right now.
  14. And now he can be a pinata for Triple A hitters.
  15. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) I don't really care what KW can get for Contreras... I just don't want to see anymore of him on the Sox ^^^^ Yes, and thanks for the memories...
  16. I recommend a batting practice/batting cage machine in place of the bullpen. Then maybe we can trade the machine.
  17. Well lets see, now the Mets will give us a big bowl of dog snot for Contrares. Great. That's down only from a game expired New York subway tokens.
  18. Man, ever since I opened this thread, the Brewers have pretty much been s***. Can I have a redo? Of course, if the Cubs would starting sucking again, that would help too.
  19. QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) Will this be Jose's last game????????? I would have preferred his last start be his last White Sox start. But here is hoping he impresses scouts tonight. Be lights out Jose!
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) Let's just hope the Nats don't get no-hit tonight. Zambrano is way overdue for a bad outting and his bad outtings seem to come against bad teams. Here's hoping.
  21. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) Buster Olney was just on ESPN and said he talked with MB's agent a few hours ago, and said Mark is giving the Whitesox a huge hometown discount at 4/56, and that he wants a full no trade clause period. He said basically right now it's a staredown to who blinks first. I think this may drag out the rest of the month. We can shoot for 200 pages in this thread. YES!
  22. The only everyday/opening day players that I am sure will be back are A.J., Konerko, and Thome. Beyond that, the 2008 White Sox will be a very different team.
  23. I neglected to mention one other selling point on Cedeno, he is from Venezuela. In truth, I am not sure Cedeno might not be one of the best options. 5 pages of discussion, and nobodoy we are even warm on. Everybody has pretty much had enough Uribe. The only way they do not buy out his option is if KW decides he has too many holes to fill already. I have to think our middle infielders might both be rookies next year.
  24. I have unearthed this thread because I have done some outsde the box thinking. I would discourage, at least initially, you from vomiting on your screen. Ronny Cedeno. Read the story. Cedeno Now, the Cubs want a right handed reliever and a back up catcher. Would Hall and/or McDougal do it o get Cedeno and a player to be named later. Cedeno can hit, he is young, and cheap. I could find nothing about his fielding. I suspect we just got our starting 2B from the D-Backs, so this would complete the middle infield rebuilding and as we know from this thread, there is nothing on the market. The Cubs have Fontenot and Theriot starting up the middle right now with DeRosa and Pagan in reserve roles. They have no place to put Cedeno. And we can send them some vets for their futile attempt at making the playoffs. ... now you can throw s***.
