Rudy Giuliani has a BIG problem....
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Filibuster
The problem is that the people that need to see this, will never see it. -
Mark Cuban + Chicago Cubs =
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) Cuban to the Cubs would be awful for the Sox. Which is reason #3 of about 100 that this will never happen. -
Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) Disgusting stat I saw the other day that Contreras is 9-19 in his last 31 starts. Like everyone mentions, do what you have to in order to rid his salary. That's hard to swallow for a lot of people here, but it is reality. -

Let me put a stop to speculation. There is no chance in hell Bud Selig would allow an insubordinate like Mark Cuban to join the owner's club. -
Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 01:55 PM) i saw this on another board.. According to a major-league source, White Sox GM Ken Williams received an inquiry from Colorado regarding Mark Buehrle shortly before re-signing him. The Rockies also inquired about pitcher Jon Garland before shifting to Jose Contreras, but the Rockies were unwilling to part with top prospects Franklin Morales or Ian Stewart. -- Chicago Tribune Realistically, we need to take what we can get for Jose and may have to look at it more along the lines of a salary dump. There is no chance in hell of getting elite prospects for Jose. Can you imagine how lit up he could get if trade to Colorado? If you thought Sisco's line in Triple A last was ugly ... -
White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/12/07 (W)
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to briguy27's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 06:44 PM) Make sure you're not eating or drinking anything when you look at Sisco's performance tonight. OMG, can we demote to rookie league. Is he actually getting worse. On another note, I miss Ross Gload. 8 friggin' runs in the first inning of a triple A game ... -
White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/12/07 (W)

Didn't somebody here at Soxtalk have a major stiffy for the Sox to get Gibbons a year or two ago? I wish I could remember who it was. -
Milledge I only this is to show Kenny that Milledge can play and that Milledge will soon be playing on the south side. Though in reality, KW is looking at a package of Sandy Alomar Jr. and Jon Adkins.

I like Haeger, a lot of good things were said about him and the development of his knuckleball last year, I believe Phil Niekro said it is the best knuckler he has seen in years. I think that is why it is surprising that he started out so poorly this year. Hopefully, he is straightened out and here to stay. My only concern with a knuckleballer is that out catcher can not throw out runners for a fastball pitcher, will a runner steal 2 bases each time off a knuckleball. Good Luck Charlie!!!

Boras says A-Rod assured to reach $30M annually
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Pants Rowland's topic in The Diamond Club
I hope nobody thinks the White Sox will make a realistic play for ARod. -
Story And I thought hitting was the one thing going well for the Mets.

Ash bats, Two Sox, and the New York Times
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Linnwood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Uribe should try giving his bat the silent treatment. Maybe then the bats will get hits for him. -

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) Wow, do you guys like ANYONE on the radio? Colin is the best, imo. Not that they are great, but MJH is the one show I can tolerate. More than anything, they just happen to be on when I am driving home and I want to know what's going on. -
Dye may land on Mets
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Steve9347's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Hmmm ... so far the Mets have rumored interest in Dye and Count. That could be a nice package. If we talked the Mets into replacing Valentin at 2B w/ Iguchi, I am sure we could get a nice package from the them. One can dream ... -
Mariners looking to lock up Ichiro long-term
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to iamshack's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
This will all implode in a few hours, but shouldn't this be in Diamond Club? ... And yes I hope the negotiations go badly. Or Fukodome! -
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) They are winning now. He isn't costing them much. They also have Craig Counsel and Tony G over there, do they not? I doubt they would be major players for Tad, unless Weeks still is injured... 4 1/2 up isn't much. Even good teams look for marginal improvements. Remember Geoff Blum. If you believe Iguchi would not be a roster ungrade over Graf or Counsel, I would strongly disagree. Platooning Iguchi, which is what I am suggesting, would help the Brewers on a lot of level. If nothing else, it would improve pinch hitter options. Not to suggest the Brewers should or would do it, but they are certainly more likely suiters than the Dodgers, Padres, or Indians.
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) I was thinking that too briefly, but it's probably not a good move to sit him in favor of Iguchi if they really want Weeks to play second base for the future... Winning now and having Weeks play 2B every day need not be one in the same.
-
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) Which teams out there need a gooch type of player? Weeks is only hitting .212 last I checked for the Brewers. I wonder if they might be interested in Iguchi. Though let's not get on our X-boxes and expect a lot from the Brew Crew.

His swings reminds me of Ichiro.

Maybe we will just go with a 24 man roster. Hell, we refused to put Dye on the DL when we really needed another player so why not. Or maybe we can activate Ozzie Guillen as a player/manager.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) Uhhhh, technically, he can't. . . I believe he can, he just has to go to confession later.

The Pope is a uniter not a divider. If the Pope stands in the place of God on Earth and is infallible, how come he is always changing his mind?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 09:30 AM) I'm not giving Rowand any more than $5-$6M (TOPS), he's pretty much a league average hitter with very good defense and an iffy arm, that's a $6M player. Rowand should be the lesser of the OF signings this off season. I think he should stay in this price range. The Philly papers this morning even speculate that Rowand may go back to Philly this morning. That said, if we can dump Count, there is a good chance of signing a big name OF. I am not sure where all the Ichiro rumors have come from, but he certainly would be a good fit here and change the complexion of this team.

Mets Interested in Contreras?
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to beck72's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I got to thinking about trading Jose, and I wonder if we might have to eat some of his salary if/when he is traded. If asked to do this, my opinion would depend on A) how much $, and B ) what we get in return. I don't see anybody beating down the doors, at least not yet, fo Jose. That may change when teams get more desperate around July 31. -
Crede to start rehab in Arizona
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to spiderman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Borass reminds me of Jim Carrey's character from Dumb and Dumber when he sells the dead parrot to the blind kid. What blind idiot will sign Crede and his back to a huge contract? I know one that won't and this is a case where I am glad KW won't deal with Borass.
