Scott Linebrink
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) GB/Total Outs 75.2 IP, so that's 227 outs. 90/227 = 39.6% Awesome, thanks.

Scott Linebrink
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 07:42 AM) Obviously if you could get Linebrink over here for Pods and a mid-level prospect, you make the deal. He is killer on LH, which is always nice to have for guys like Hafner-Sizemore-Nixon-Mauer-Morneau-DeJesus-Teahen. However, I just don't know if he would see in the innings that he might want/deserve. Whats his GB/FB ratio look like. Why can't I find that on ESPN? QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 07:52 AM) http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/stats/pl...tName=linebrink 39.4% GB% in 2006. Thats weird, because at the bottom of the EPSN stats, under MISC stats, it shows 90 GB and 91 FB, which would be about a 49.8% GB rate. Link: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4294 I wonder how each site determines this because that is a big difference. Linebrink also led the NL in holds in 2006 with 36.

Comparing the AL Central Starting Rotations
I would say: 1. Tigers 2. Indians 3. Sox 4. Twins 5. Royals The Tigers clearly have the best rotation from top to bottom, the Indians have a fairly solid 1-5, while the Sox only have a solid 1-4 that cannot make up for the question mark at #5.

White Sox Firefox Extension
*08FEB07 Update* - Added new players (along with some prospects) - Dropped departed players - Next Update - I will add the remaining players from the 40 man roster, along with links for Ozzie and KW since they generate some interest. Some other areas I will add will be related to the White Sox Minor League affiliates, and some ticket and other merchandise links. If anyone has any other suggestions, new links, etc, please let me know. It is not too much trouble to make changes to this now that it is complete. I am also adding it to the Mozilla Extensions site which should generate more interest. LINK: http://www.pcgamingtech.net/downloads/whitesox.xpi FYI, I am creating a White Sox theme for Firefox and should have that completed by the start of the regular season. Check back here for that as well. I should have a beta release within the next week.

Aaron rowand ST picture
QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) anyone still have this or know what i'm talking about? It was just a picture of him, with a blue sky in the background, hitting the ball up in the air. It was really a perfect picture. SOMEONE FIND IT, por favor It's this picture, but without the stuff on the side. http://img232.exs.cx/img232/9375/ter2te.jpg Thinking about cropping out Rowand and replacing him with Erstad?

2007 Prediction: Who's our ace?
I would have voted for Vazquez but there was only an option for Vasquez. Vazquez will have a huge year. His late season numbers and performances bode well for 2007.

White Sox 5th starter poll
Gavin Floyd has the most experience, so if they can make the necessary adjustments to his delivery to make him more consistent, then he has the upper leg. Haeger is always a backup option. Danks, Gio, and Broadway seem to be at least one year away.

Incase you are a betting man...
This site has different Live Odds: http://linesmaker.com/live_odds/world_series_odds.htm So there seems to be some differences depending on where you look.

Soxtalk Community Prediction: Darin Erstad
He had a lot of time off last year. So hopefully he is fully rested and ready to prove himself again as a grinder.
-
Soxtalk Community Prediction: Scott Podsednik
Rarely used early on, he will be the 4th outfielder most of the year, and then traded at the trading deadline. .270 AVG, .310 OBP, 12 SB (4 CS)

Which Sox players would you keep
The only ones that would seem to fit the Sox new mold would be Gooch and AJ. All the veteran pitchers would be out of reach in terms of contracts, and Dye and Crede will have played their way out of the salary range of the Sox - which is sad.

Winningest teams in MLB since 2000
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 02:36 AM) Sure seems like they are 7th in baseball going by that... Good catch, maybe there should be an asterisk next to the Giants.

Buehrle knows this is it
It also sounds like a little leveraging and positioning with the media from both sides.

Sox Sign Erstad
This seems to be another low risk move by KW. He can play 1B as well, so this is a nice filler for Gload. Erstad's numbers in 2000 were pretty solid: 25 HR, 100 RBI, 28 SB, .355 BA, .409 OBP, .541 SLG, .951 OPS Since then he has never hit more than 10 HRs, batted over .295, and his OPS has never touched .750 again. That one year stands out pretty big.

What was/is more special to you?
I would say the Sox World Series victory trumps the Bears. 2005 was such an exciting ride wire-to-wire with the amazing post season run. I also thought being on Soxtalk added to the excitement of the whole journey. The baseball season is such a grind, and the Sox were such underdogs all year. The Bears ride this year has been awesome, but they were good last year too and just f-upped in the playoffs vs Carolina. This season has been what I expected out of them.

Bill Parcells Retires
Pretty interesting since he was supposed to be at the Senior Bowl. Most of his Assistants were leaving, but everyone thought he was returning. Now Dallas will have to scramble to find someone to deal with TO. Have fun Dallas. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2738949

BEARS in THE SUPERBOWL!
The SuperBowl is going to be a great game. Indy's Offense vs Chicago's Defense. "The Bears are who we thought they were" Experts? Yeah, right!

Crede Avoids Arbitration
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) Yeah really. How the hell can this be considered "cheap" after looking his track record and career numbers? I understand how the system works, but I think Joe got at least $1 million too much. Also, that was a figure agreed upon by both sides, so more than likely he was looking for something closer to $6 mil and the Sox were looking at something around $4 mil. Still a pretty big jump from $2.675.

Official NFL Thread
QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) Obviously not, but they have plenty of weapons on offense, and our defense has shown nothing the past 6 weeks. No run defense and no pass rush, all in a cover 2 defense and you are screwed. It is not like they are superstars though. Jones and Benson outrushed McAllister and Bush during the regular season, and Bush had the edge in receiving yards. Colston had the most receiving yards, but Berrian and Muhammad are comparable to Colston and Henderson. Brees is much better than Grossman, but Clark is much better than Campbell at TE. NO is mainly a passing team, and the Bears have Rick Manning Jr with Vasher and Tillman to play in Nickel packages, which is basically three starting corners. Most teams don't have that luxury. Also, Bush will not be as fast at Soldier Field, which is his biggest strength. The Special Teams battle seems to be in favor of the Bears. It is not like NO is tearing up the league either, they limped into the playoffs going 1-2 in their last three games. Both teams have their weaknesses, and I think the Bears have a better chance than most people believe.

Soxtalk Community Prediction: Tadahito Iguchi
I just hope Gooch figures out how to hit LHP. .285, 25 HR, 80 RBI

Gwynn and Ripken are HOF class of 2007
Congrats to Gwynn and Ripken, two of the best. Baines is still alive with more than 5%!
-
Soxtalk Community Prediction: Toby Hall

-
Soxtalk Community Prediction: AJ Pierzynski

-
Soxtalk Community Prediction: Paul Konerko
I think Paulie will fall in between his 05 and 06 numbers, but still very solid. 38 HR 108 RBI .305/.380/.540 4th All-Star Appearance 24 GIDP
