Sox Collectibles
QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 05:49 AM) I have an ever growing collection of authentic jerseys (Majestic on-field of the past decade, and Mitchell and Ness for period-correct productions of older jerseys). And of course, I have quite a few caps as well. I just started looking into getting some game-worn memorabilia. I love bobbleheads and I have a good handful of autographed baseballs too. This. I have 10 jerseys at present, authentic. Mostly modern but also a 1959 Aparicio home jersey and a 1960 Nellie Fox road jersey. Also, a 2004 American League All-Star jersey for (gulp!) Loiza. One jersey that's now a collectible is my Buehrle home white vest, which they stopped wearing (why? Those were so cool!). I'm always ready to enter to win any authentic jersey.

WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Great all-around game. Pitching. Defense. Timely hitting. Bullpen. Stolen bases. Double steal! Just got back from it but DAMN IT WAS COLD. DAMP cold.

4/6/11 - Sox vs. Royals - 1:10 (CSN)
Please God not another final at-bat win for KC.

Adam Dunn had emergency appendectomy last night.
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) This just in! While we're playing .500 ball against the eventual 4th and 5th place teams in the Central, we are failing to gain good ground over Detroit and Minnesota. When we start playing good teams we know Detroit and Minnesota will beat up on these same 4th and 5th place teams during that stretch. Games still count in April. And now this just in! The season's not even a week old! Seriously now...

Adam Dunn had emergency appendectomy last night.
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Sweet f***ing Christ, back off from the ledge everyone. We haven't even played a f***ing home game yet. We lost a game in extras last night and now Dunn is out 5-10 and you'd think the season was already over and we had the worst bullpen in the history of the game. No sh*t!!!! We're not even a week in and people are slitting their wrists already? Although, that said: That does always seem to be the case, doesn't it? But sorry, I don't get out the razors until around the ASB.

Not a great feeling about the KC series...
If we're going for OMG NO!!! analogies to Sox bullpenners of past, I'm going with McDougal.

Not a great feeling about the KC series...
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) Worried about a 2-game set with KC the first week in April? You're gonna be one stressed out mofo this year. LMAO. I have to agree.

White Sox winner!
When we went up 14-0 I was literally laughing. Like: well, looks like we got the offense we paid for. Not laughing so much when they managed to get 10 on the board, when our pitching is supposed to be elite. Oh well, Opening Day. I'll take it.

Mark Buehrle
Mark Buehrle is the last person I'm going to be concerned with when it comes to the Sox. I think the time would be better spent focusing on players like Beckham, Pierre, CQ... guys who need to step up big-time this year if we're going to top the Twins for the Central. Their consistency is in question. Buehrle's is not.

Why do we open in Cleveland?
I agree April baseball sucks. I went to the Saturday game of Opening Week 2006 and the wind chill was 20 degrees. It was the coldest game I have ever been to in my life. Absolutely no fun, for fans or the players.

Heyman Picks Sox for Central, among other things
The Royals will be great... in 2013. LOL.

USA Today preview
Why would one ever count out the Twins? Year after year after year they are always in it. So they flame out in the playoffs, yeah. But there are no playoffs if we don't take the Central from them. As far as the writeup, not exactly the most inspiring, LOL. But hey, there you have it. My snapshot for 2011 looking at the crystal ball is: the team goes as Peavy goes.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
Sorry, while I still think Peavy shouldn't have been pushing 83 pitches already or pitching sick, on the other hand I'm not about to get out on the ledge because OMG HIS SHOULDER IS SORE after he's pitched a few games! Are you really that surprised? If that's the only "setback," I'd say: things are moving right along. HOWEVER, don't push it--easy as she goes.

Matt Thornton named 2011 Closer
OK, so now what with Sale? He's the setup guy now?

3rd Base....NO....not Teahen!
Please God not Teahen. Does everybody remember that last year our epic winning streak started when Teahen was out with injury?

Jake Peavy Thread
That was a GREAT article, witesoxfan, and thank you for posting it! It is now without a doubt: Jake Peavy is 100% badass motherf*****. I never thought anybody could match Buehrle on the likeability scale, but Peavy now stands beside him. Buying his jersey for this season turned out to be a good choice. I will wear it with pride.

ST: 3/9-- Sox vs Giants
Holy sh...................

ST: 3/9-- Sox vs Giants
3 innings of no-hit ball from Peavy?
-
Jake Peavy Thread
OK I'm no expert so this is more of a question, but: does now Peavy become more of a "control" pitcher picking his spots (think: Maddox, or Buehrle) instead of trying to blow away batters with heat?

Michael Young
For f***'s sake why in the world would we give up Danks?

The Jermaine Dye Saga...
Frankly I'm shocked he's still off the market. I'm not about to pile on JD because if you recall, he was offered more money elsewhere before '05 but he stuck to his commitment with us. So he doesn't strike me as a greedy bastard overvaluing himself. That said, does nobody need a DH/backup outfielder?!?! Wanting to be everyday in the OF I think is asking a bit much, but I don't see why either side wouldn't want him in the role of backup OF but otherwise full-time DH when he's not out there.

Ozzie Roast
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) You don't? I'm pretty sure EVERYONE thinks Oney's a f***ing tool, because he is. That was a typo, I meant to say that nobody DISagrees that Oney's a tool. Sorry.
-
Ozzie Roast
Everafan just posted of being right there and seeing the whole thing and that the heckler deserved it so I'm unclear what the controversy here is. I don't think anybody agrees that Oney's a tool, but I'm not sure why this incident is being used to indict Ozzie.

Soxfest announcement?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) It was a flat $250 for the weekend, and the passes were included with the room. Wow that SUCKS now. What a thumb in the eye. I've only been once, in '05, but at those prices, no thanks!
