  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) Those are some monster power numbers. He's no Nelson Cruz. .346/.438/.721/1.159 37 HR and 98 RBI in 96 G He hit a blast that was at least 500 ft against Salt Lake when they were here a few weeks ago.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) I agree. Swisher is lucky he plays in an era where every stat is monitored. He'd have been run out of town back in the day when batting average was the biggest stat for a hitter and not on base percentage. The guy's batting average is a joke. But he draws walks so some will slobber over him all season. It's an unwinnable argument for Dick. I agree with everything Dick Allen has been saying about Swish. And yes Konerko has been equally bad or worse. Paulie's home run totals are so low it does indicate something is way wrong. I still say he should bat eighth the rest of the year or be traded for a change of scenery , not booed. Somebody who has time on their hands should compare Swisher's stats to his dad's. Steve Swisher couldn't hit either. I wonder if Steve also drew a lot of walks. lol I don't disagree that Swisher has been very disappointing this year, but statements like that are a complete joke.
  3. House is by far the best show on television IMO. Also: QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 11:51 AM) Arrested Development You are a bad, bad man.
  4. Juan Uribe: .234/.284/.394 Nick Swisher: .226/.347/.395 HUGE difference.

  6. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 05:06 AM) I'm very happy that Tubby is coaching at Minnesota. Just saying. That makes two of us
  7. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 07:08 PM) Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan are teams that are on that channel from what I saw this past year. Pretty boring. Only decent thing was Kendall Gill. Yeah, Minnesota sucks. Especially their basketball program. It's not like they have one of the better coaches in the NCAA or a top recruiting class coming in or anything. f*** them.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) Missing your team's football and basketball games makes it a good enough channel for me. Agreed. I didn't see a single Minnesota road game last year in either sport except for the Michigan basketball game, which I only saw because I sat on a bus 10+ hours to get to.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 11:55 PM) I agree, I prefer a 1-10 scale. I'm even in a league taht only shows talents, and not overalls. Now THAT'S interesting. I'm in one like that too, it's a pretty awesome league. Another idea I've talked to people about would be only showing current ratings, and not talents, but that has flaws when it comes to the draft as I don't know if talents can be set on only for that. Either way, I prefer leagues that don't feed you every little detail about the players (such as their 1-100 rating) as it makes them more interesting. In a 1-10 league, some pitchers with a 6 have the endurance to start while others don't. It all depends on whether its a high or low six, which is something that gets lost in a 1-100 league.
  10. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) anyone know of any new leagues? im lookin to join one I don't know any opening right now, but if I hear of any, I'll send you a PM. I hear about new leagues every now and then.

  12. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) no 1-100 is definitely the best felix I think it makes it much too easy to evaluate talent. Every league I'm in is 1-10 or 2-8, and I plan on keeping it that way To each his own though.
  13. 1-100 ratings suck. 1-10 or 2-8 ftw!

    QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 07:18 AM) If Man is 5 Then the Devil is 6 Then God is 7. This Monkey's Gone To Heaven. You totally stole my reply. Awesome song/band.
  16. Brandon McCarthy had his first rehab start tonight for the Oklahoma Redhawks against Salt Lake tonight. He had a rough first inning, but looked awesome after that. Changeup was working really well as his main pitch, and his curveball looked great at times. His fastball touched 90 a couple of times, but sat at 89 for the most part.

    I saw it last night. Awesome.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) Boy he is kind of an ass in his postings. He sure makes no attempt to be nuetral and just report the news, that is for sure. It's not supposed to be a formal thing. As far as I can tell, it's just something he does for fun. Who cares if he's neutral or not?
  19. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) There's speculation on the A's boards that Gio will be called up to take Blanton's spot. Looked pretty good last time I saw him. I saw him last week against the Salt Lake Bees and he was on top of his game. Got into jams, but go out of them effectively. He struck out seven over 7.1 innings and allowed only five hits and no runs. I saw his fastball at 92 consistently and it seemed to stay there for his entire stay in the game.
  20. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) lmao, please go read ANY article from the Onion, then come back and edit your post. But if he edits it, it's less hilarious.
  21. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 03:02 AM) Holy s***... seriously??? WOW. I don't think I could respect my manager after that ever again if I was a player under him. I can't believe this was so long ago already, either.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) I'm really REALLY hoping we could land Favre... Disgusting.
