  1. It's an average of 25 million for a kid who could have gotten a 400 or 500 million deal in free agency.
  2. I will let you debate yourself since you again ignored the threads that already contained this propaganda to create a new thread.
  3. So you are doing exactly what you are complaining about as a way of telling other people not to do it. But we appreciate the lecture on how Tony is going to be great because he used to be great as a form of I told you so. You might as well get used to it. Jerry put this in place with zero input from anyone else. It is his fault this is happening, even when it was obvious it was going to happen. The Sox can write all of the propaganda around it they like, some people appear willing to eat it up by the plateful. But it doesn't invalidate the concerns that people have, no matter how much you lecture critics of the hire.
  4. ^ For the record, THIS is exactly what I was referring to when I was talking about Boomer mentality. The game is changing, and he can't stand it, so he wants to drag it back to the last century. Pass.
  5. I won't argue that they picked the right guy, but the concept of what they did and how they tried to do it was 100% correct.
  6. It isn't popular to say, but I am OK with what they did in the EE signing. It didn't work out, but instead of trying to force a guy who might not have been ready into a role, they spent only money to sign a guy that carried no obligation past one season, and still had guys like Collins and Mercedes, as well as Vaughn as back up options if they wanted to use them. I wish they had done more EE style moves in this off season to give this squad more insulation and protection against injury and failures.
  7. Rick Hahn's initial press conference after the hire makes a LOT more sense that he was blindsided by this hire, than if he was a part of this process from day one. He was more standoff-ish and very intentionally separating himself from the process in his initial talk.
  8. I am not sure if we ran through this same off season 100 times, that they could have done much more damage than was done to the Sox reputation since the World Series.
  9. I approve of this message.
  10. Maybe we should get a lot of Texans on TV claiming that he doesn't speak for Texans as a whole? Oh wait, that is for a different occasion.
