QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) Upton is Detroits Adam LaRoche Except at 5 times the commitment.

Q gets the benefit of that one, it was in off of the inside corner.

Real nice play by Saladino to get that out at 3rd, because I don't think he gets an out at first or second base.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) Now you're just embarrassing me! Honestly, I had to look all that up. Being in LA, I barely get to see the guy.

Victor played that double into a single. If he hustles out of the box, this game is maybe 1-1 right now.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) Never mind then, thought he could still play some CF. It looks like the last time he played Cf was 2008. He hasn't had a positive DRS since 2013. His last Range factor over league average was 2010.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) I'd give him a look over Shuck if it were at the league minimum. The problem is that he can only play LF, and not even that well.

Ha, Coats took a wide birth of Eaton on that one.

Easy 6/4/3, Miguel now hits with the bases empty.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) What do you think the takeaway from her quote is? It's blaming Donald Trump. She's not dumb, that's how it will play in the media and headlines. It's naive to think otherwise. She can criticize Trump all she wants. In this particular instance, she should have condemned the San Diego violence. She blames Trump for it instead. That's not condemning it. Really, it just furthers the problem. after all, she was asking for it...

Eaton totally misread that ball off of Kinsler's bat.

That was a bomb by Abreu to dead center field in Detroit. That has to be 430-440'

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) What the f*** are you even talking about? You literally b**** now without even providing any context to what it is you're upset about. If you're going to pollute every thread with your non-stop whining, can you least put forth some specifics so it can generate some discussion. Honestly, it has become a facebook meme at this point.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) Yep, CF is the general of the outfield and you need to have your best option out there or it hurts the overall defense in the OF It was mere months ago that most people here pointed to Eaton's horrible DRS in CF last year and said that he should never play CF again.

This is the one way the Sox can hold on to both pitchers. This is roster management.

I am not convinced that Shields is the best thing for us, but we gave up a lot of nothing to get him. We all saw the Sox have zero confidence in Johnson. They had chance after chance to use him, he always stunk here, and they had no confidence in bringing him back. Tatis could be something, but he is 17 years old, and at best half a decade away from doing anything at the major league level. In return we got a pitcher who will give us at very least a solid 200 IP a year. With the way that the pen has been abused this year, that will help, even if Shields isn't Big Game James anymore.

It allows them to keep the person on the roster until Shields pitches. Maybe it allows them to make a deal for Latos or Gonzalez to make a roster spot.
