  1. QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) Ugh. This is so incredibly disappointing. Should never ever ever be an issue that is legislated. This is government sponsored discrimination, and I am sick thinking about it. Technically that is backwards. The government legislated equality, and the people of California voted otherwise.
  2. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 01:18 PM) How long would guys in klan robes survive in Pilsen?? That is 100% irrelevant.
  3. Out of curiousity if a couple of guys in Klan robes had stood in front of a polling place in say Pilsen, would people still feel the same way?

  5. Evidently the Padres, in addition to shopping Jake Peavy, are also looking to trade Khalil Greene in an effort to get their payroll down under $40 million, in order to expidite a team sale. any other pieces that could be raped and/or pillaged from them?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) But you know what? Out of guys drafted since 2003, KW has yet to trade away any of his #1 picks. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least two of those guys dealt this winter, maybe more.
  7. For those that feel popular vote is always the best way to go... I give you Exhibit 8. There does need to be a consideration of minority opinion, especially when it is over the rights of a very few. I'll truely believe if they tried to popular vote other minority rights, such as womens/black vote, it would have lost decidely for much longer than it took Congress to get it right.
  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) and Obama said he wouldnt run for president. Things change. Thank you. Believing politicians in front of cameras is a big mistake.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) I think it's been implied that Blogo would let Obama name his own replacement. If that's the case, bet on Jesse Jr.
  10. To an all around great guy and many more!
  11. I voted at about 4:30pm and was first in line when I walked in. I had more difficulty keeping the kid under control than I did voting. Easy in, easy out.
  12. I am thrilled that all three incumbants on our school board were voted out last night. That makes 6 out of the 7 seats having new members in the last two elections. Hopefully that means we can drum our superintendant and move forward.
  13. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 08:31 AM) no more so that the state that elected a dead guy or Louisanna reelecting freezer-cash guy. "Everybody is a crook except our guy" seems to be popular among states, as long as thier guy brings home the bacon. Not to mention a city that consistantly re-elects a corrupt mayor with 80% of the vote, or has had 3 straight governors indicted (or will soon enough).
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 08:37 AM) He deserves that much; even though GWB didn't get that same fair shake because of the bitterness of 2000. With that said, this is much more clear - and I sure hope Obama isn't dumb enough to take everything left. I hope he ends up more like Clinton - campaign to the moonbats and ends up being more of a centrist. And 2004. I really hope he does govern from the center. I'll be honest when I say he scares the s*** out of me even more now. There is pretty much nothing I agree with him on. Looking back through history, many of our biggest problems came out of rash political decisions made during crisis's such as the New Deal. Today in the 21st century, we are on the verge of economic collapse becuase of many of those programs and laws. I really hope he sees through the politics to do what is right for not only today, but for 100 years down the road.
  15. The most interesting line that I have seen so far is this from Phil Rosenthal on Facebook this morning... What if Peter Fitzgerald seeks re-election in 2004?
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 07:13 AM) Agreed. That was a fantastic speech. Made me wish McCain had won in 2000. He should have just run like it was 2000. Forget the right wing of the party.

  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) That's a BIG loss for the Devils. Wonder what their salary cap situation is ATM. This site is showing them with about a million bucks. http://nhlnumbers.com/overview.php?team=NJD&season=0809
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) Something we totally don't expect. Weren't you the one who recently said that the only thing Kenny could surprise you by doing, was nothing at all.
  21. QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) Unsubscribe from Obama's, McCain's, and every PAC's emails and alerts. If only that worked for getting them to stop calling and showing up at your house. For $600 million you would think someone would have come up with a check box that read "There isn't a chance in hell", when it comes to my vote.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) To be honest, I read it the other way. To me this is the organization hyping up in house talent so when a trade of Vazquez is made, it looks like the Sox have capable replacements. Pick your ulterior motive
  23. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) Even rednecks make fun of rednecks so it's kind of moot. I mean the non-racist kind though. Why the racist rednecks don't get PC protection is pretty obvious. I don't agree with that fully, simply because blacks make fun of blacks, and it is considered my many some of the funniest comedy out there. There is also the whole rap culture angle to factor in there as well. To me those two things kinda disqualify that line of thinking.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) That's why the Kucinichs and Naders of the world never become President. Well that and their policies are out of touch with the majority of the political world.
  25. Happy Birthday
