QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) I can give a WSJ example of why it matters. The industry term is "bucketing trades"

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 12:00 PM) You basically posted this same thing 100 times over the last 2 months. Please add a bit more to the discussion. Come on, I know last night wasn't good for you, but pretty much everyone has been saying the samethings for the last two months, yourself included.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) It's about transparency. She loaned her campaign $5M last month. Where did the $5M come from? Last I checked a US Senator isn't making millions. Her husband is making some big bank though... http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/polit...shed_in_on.html

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) Rush Limbaugh has recently been encouraging his listeners to turn out and vote for Hillary so that they could keep the mess on the Dem side going as long as possible and so that either Hillary comes out as the nominee or she bloodies up Obama really badly. Karmatic after their was talk of the Dems doing the samething in Michigan, isn't it?

March 4th Primaries
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:57 AM) Was it the 3 AM ads or the NAFTA thing? Either way, it is the same slander by proxy that has been the trademark of the Clintons for almost two decades now. It blows my mind that so many people don't connect the dots and realize what the source of all of this sewage is.

March 4th Primaries
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 12:54 AM) As a republican this is great. The best result would be if Obama comes out with more delegates. Michigan and Florida are not seated, and Clinton uses the superdelegates to topple the will of the dem party. That would clear a way for McCain to the whitehouse. I am still amazed on how goofy liberal Clinton, the wife of the man who was weak on defense for 8 years, is now a tough person you want in a time of war. Maybe she can learn from her husband and blow up a tent in the middle of the desert with a 2 million dollar Tomahawk Cruise Missle. Her on the job training was sleeping next to the president for 8 years. Maybe she received the knowledge via Osmosis. Really there was no better scenario for John McCain than what unfolded tonight. I cannot believe those stupid 3 am ads actually convinced anyone to not vote for Obama. Its classic Clintonian scare tactics. Personally I would have loved to see Obama fire back at Hillary after the Canadian memo problem, with these simple words "Shame on you Hillary Clinton!" What happened not not attacking a fellow Democrat? Yeah, the best possible case for the Republicans is for Hillary to keep up the effort to torpedo Obama by whatever means possible so that whoever wins the nomination emerges weakened and spent after a brutal primary, while McCain comes out after basically a couple/few months to fundraise and relax.

Report: Puppy thrown off cliff by Marine
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Are there tales from WW II about stuff like this? (obviously not youtube videos, but stories or the sort?) I'm trying to build a mental thesis about war. Vietnam/Iraq vs. WW II. A perception of evil/ideological evil vs. a present and real evil (please don't give me the 9/11 terrorism is real argument) how does this affect the mental state of a human being. defending vs. occupying. I would guess that having to be in a constant state of prepardness for death messes with you. There are stories from pretty much every war about the atrocities committed. In the instant multimedia era, we just hear about it quicker.

Berrian with a bigger contract than Briggs? Wow the NFL has gone stone-cold stupid.

LOST!!!!
I re-watched the episode just to see if I recognized any of the new characters from anywhere else, but I did not. The episode was incredible. I am totally hooked waiting for what happens next.

Singleton Out, Stone In
QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:42 AM) Was Farmer ever listenable? I just hope he makes him shut up. As a testiment to how good John Rooney was, he made Farmer tolerable, especially compared to the last few years.

March 4th Primaries
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 05:34 AM) Clinton is definitely getting a little bump lately. Could be the negative ads, could be the ultra-conservatives crossing over (listening to their talk show hosts) to make trouble... whatever, it will probably allow her to hold Ohio by a 5-ish point margin. But Texas will still go Obama, I think. And contrary to what a lot of people think, I am of the opinion that the Superdelegate momentum will continue to stay with Obama. And if this goes close and late, like to the convention, they'll break for Obama, for one simple reason... they want to win in November. So basically, Clinton needs to win OH and TX to stay in it. And even then, she has an uphill battle. That would be karma after the talk about the Dems doing the same in Michigan

Singleton Out, Stone In
QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) That doesn't make me want to watch BBTN. Good move for him. Could mean a TV announcer job later. If you ever watched a Fox game of the week, Singleton really did a great job, minus the dead weight that is Ed Farmer. He just really got stuck with a horrible partner. I am glad to hear that Singleton is moving up in the world. He is a nice guy and really deservers it.

Singleton Out, Stone In
Wow. Any story about the details? Was Singleton fired, or did he quit? He is one of the nicest guys in baseball. I hope he lands on his feet. On the other hand, we are getting one of the best broadcasters in baseball. Hopefully he will make Ed Farmer listenable again.

Uribe + MacDougal for Marquis?
After seeing how much of a team player Marquis is, I want him no where near our kids.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:30 PM) Huckabee is hoping for an overthrow of McCain. I'm serious. I really thought he and Romney would come up with something... I was kinda shocked he didn't. I think the only reason Huckster is still in the race is he wants McCain to buy him off with the VP nom.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) So what about that whole Obama NAFTA flap? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080303/ap_on_...dZDMKPltAGs0NUE Well if anything this sure makes Obama more Presidential... He is able to lie straight faced to the American people, and then blame other people for what was said, with a dash of cover-up. Hillary should be proud, this could have been a play right out of Bill's playbook.

County Board Passes Budget
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 11:06 AM) I vote for dividing the county.... The whole point is to eliminate government, not to create more. The county and the City are just money pits. Things need to be streamlined and cleaned up badly. If the 10.25% sales tax doesn't tell people that, nothing will.

HDTVs
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) I don't like to buy combined products. One part of the unit usually dies before the other does. Someone told me that they usually share power sources, meaning if one burns out, the other isn't too far behind.

CREDE CREDE CREDE
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) I am in suspense of the next position that people will move Fields to in an order to keep Joe Crede. I think catcher will be next. I wonder the amount of teeth nashing that will happen when reality sets in and Boras takes Crede to the bank. I should buy the domain savejoecrede.com. Lots of money to be made on this one. Nah, we will either hear about how cheap the Sox are, or how we should have traded Crede for ARod while we had the chance.
