QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) Iowa probly shouldn't have moved, makes sense to me. Who the hell voted for Duke to be #1? LOL. No s***. There is no question Illinois should be number 1 in the country. Voting for Duke is a joke.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) We'll contact the people at ESPN to put on the BottomLine: Soxtalk.com reports the signing to 2B Tadahito Iguchi. We deserve props. So do the guys who brought it to us. How cool would that be to see us quoted on ESPN as a source?

Bruce Levine discusses Iguchi and Willie
QUOTE(HoosierSox @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Im in the camp to keep Willie. We need some speed off the bench and he can play CF every once in a while. Keep peapod. I know I am in the silent minority here, but I like having the insurance policy in case Iguchi makes a Kaz-like meltdown.

Sosa dumped from Cubs calendar
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) HA, that's the problem with sports calendars, I don't even want to bring up my Bears calendar, Ro Colvin, Jim Miller, Warrick Holdman the list goes on and on. We won't even talk about the Blackhawks calendars

Kenny's Report Card
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Your missing the point. He took the easiest step in signing the new guy. The harder part is getting rid of the guy you want gone. Willie needs to go and a UIF needs to be brought in. Simple as that. I must be missing the point? SIGNING someone is the easy part? Since when? It seems to be it is always easier to get rid of someone than to to get someone. As far as I can tell it took months of negotiation to get Iguchi signed to a reasonable deal. It seems like it would be much easier to dump Harris on a team for a utility infielder than to sign a forgein player to a deal that is about 1/3rd of what he initially asked for, but I guess that is just me.

Kenny's Report Card
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Exactly...his grade will go back up to an A the moment he finishes the job. If Willie stays the C- stays. I see so taking the first step penalizes someone. I guess KW should have just sat on his thumbs and kept his B+

Kenny's Report Card
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) IMO yes. Until he shows that he has a plan to get Willie off the roster (since he hurts us being on the bench). Getting someone off of the roster starts with replacing them

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Tell me about it. It's a long treck back to Plainfield at 10:30 after the games. We started looking elsewhere for a place. Got a few leads.. hopefully we'll make a decision soon and have a place down there by May. Stumbling home from Jimbos>>>>>>>Driving home from Jimbo's.

Kenny's Report Card
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) KW earns a C- so far from me which has dropped from the B+ he had last week. Why you may be asking? Because he has yet to close the bigger hole on this team. He needs to trade Willie to make room for a middle infielder or he needs to send Willie down to AAA and sign a middle infielder. Either way until one of those happens I just can't give him a higher grade... So he dropped that far with the signing of a Japanese call star for 1/3 of his original asking price?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) They haven't done anything yet. The permits are not all approved and because of that we can't sign a contract to build... Ouch.

Local Celebrities' Allegiance
QUOTE(BlizzardOfOzzie @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Whatever, dude. You're just bitter and pissed because the Bears Still Suck. Not Mariotti's problem and sure as f*** no problem for me. I've been enjoying things since 1992, much like you enjoyed the 1980's. Deal with it. I put up with fatass William Perry running over George Cumby in 1985 and all that other bulls***, but who cares? As long as McCaskey owns the Bears, I've got nothing to worry about. f*** 'em. Mariotti RULES. It amuses me to think that every day people turn their first back page of the Sun-Times over to see that picture of Mariotti looking all stuck-up with a smirk on his face to tell you HOW IT IS once again. Cracks me up. The Sox are the only Chicago team I'll ever root for, so I could give a hot mad fat flying f*** what he says about the other teams in "Bear Country". His Sox bashing doesn't influence me and his columns shouldn't dictate your mood either. He does his job and does it well. If you don't like it, don't f***ing read it. My rant of the week. :headshake Who knew Kotex-boy knew how to use the internet? I wonder which post he steals from he for his next article?

QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Deivi has no RANGE. Rather stick with Valdez. And Ozuna can't play short KW specifically mentioned him when referring to possible back up SS's for the team. Do you care to elaborate a little?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) With respect to these mega deals it is true that they are guaranteed but typically at least 75% of the contract is insured at a cost of 20-25%. It's insane. The Orioles I believe are still paying for Albert Belle. They got out from under Belle last year, which is why they hit the FA market hot and heavy. - the future of the southside
