White Sox sign Reese McGuire, Korey Lee won't make MLB roster
Reese has been handed around more often than a [insert meme here]. If he was half as important as he was being played up, he wouldn't be fighting for a near minimum wage contract. Even mediocre catching has a price.

Possible rough start of the regular season
That is definitely fair, and I don't think there is much hope for significant growth as a whole until the next gen gets here. I do think the pen is better in the sense as it isn't the obvious worst in the world, but yeah.

Possible rough start of the regular season
If the young pitching goes the way they did last year, 100 losses is very realistic, because it means that help won't be coming.

Possible rough start of the regular season
If I had to put a number on it, I would go 69-93, A lot of it depends on what happens in the minors, how soon guys can get here, and if they are productive once they do arrive.

Possible rough start of the regular season
It seems like most of the national writers think progress, and probably not 100 losses. That's about where I am too. I think "competitive" stuff is nuts, but keep most guys moving forward and it is a productive year.

And a clown in LF that contradicts all of that.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
Frank is that your wallet in your pants, or are you just happy to see me? Nope definitely not my wallet.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
I think you could get a pretty solid class action together.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
This is the kind of call back I need in my life.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
He's lost money all over the place. I even remember him wanting either his A's or Blue Jays contract all up front instead of being paid over the course of a season.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
I hate to say this, but Frank has always had budget problems. I am sure that didn't get better in retirement.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
Definitely not an exclusive list.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
The Sox have managed to burn down Nancy Faust, Hawk Harrelson, and now Frank Thomas in recent years. How's that for some red flags.

Frank Thomas Suing Sox
This is what I am curious about. I know that there are agreements with current players, but I would be curious how it works for former players. I also know that Fanatics just came in and took all of these contracts, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Maybe we can get Kenny out of retirement to deliver the message?

The Cubs should be embarrassed by their insistence on crying poor. While it is annoying when Jerry does it, the Cubs are literally one of the most profitable franchises in baseball, both on the books, and their off the team investments around the ballpark. Them going cheap is a kick in the nuts to all of their fans. They made almost $100,000,000 last year, and then pretended their couldn't afford the top end FAs.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
And the I REMEMBER THE 1959 WHITE S9X crowd is very quickly leaving us. We need to tap into the next generations if the Sox are going to remain viable, because lord knows Jerry had burned this once proud franchise to the ground

White Sox sign Reese McGuire, Korey Lee won't make MLB roster
They are paying Andrew Benintendi the same amount of money over the next two years, on the exact same schedule, whether they cut him today, tomorrow, or run his contract completely out with his corpse in LF. Pretending we are doing this move at C because we might be competitive in 2026, and then running Benny out there in LF is completely contradictory. There were literally lectures about the White Sox not being able to afford to replace him, complete with BS about budgets and everything else, yet this move happens and what would have had a MUCH bigger impact on the quality of the roster just rots on the vine for essentially the same cost. You will have to excuse me if I don't just gobble up the company line here. And when everyone gets on about how people react to the teams moves, this is EXACTLY why. Frankly it is insulting to pretend otherwise.

Meanwhile LF still exists.

White Sox sign Reese McGuire, Korey Lee won't make MLB roster
That's literally the point. We COULD do things to improve the team, but we get oversold on a move like this that HAD to be made, meanwhile other moves that would help the team more in both the short AND long term get ignored, but that's NBD because we somehow can't.
